I was in Mexico on vacation & my bathroom renovation was in progress. I'd intended to reuse my existing vanity but it turned out the old vanity had water damage. The subcontracters were professional and easy to deal with . The project manager was great. It took a lot longer than I had hoped but all in all I was very happy. However, it turns out that they do not stand by their work. Months after the job was done, the drywall around my first floor shower started to crumble. I sent Kevin photos. Without coming to see it, he "diagnosed" the problem - that water was getting in between the bathtub and tub enclosure and damaging the wall. He said it was a common problem with tub enclosures and he could fix it for $1500. I said ok and he had his project manager Dave come to look at it. It was only then that we realized that was NOT the problem. When the bathroom was done they had left the round metal part that the shower handle is attached to ungrouted. It was loose and would spin around. I asked the plumber about it when he did the bathtub and shower install and he said "its fine". I didn't question it because he ALSO left it the same way on the upstairs shower. I thought that probably the pipe behind it was fully grouted so that water could go behind the round part but would not permeate behind the tub enclosure. So anyway Dave realized quickly that water was going behind the round part, into where the pipes were and behind the tub enclosure. That was what was causing the damage; the job had been not fully completed. The fixture should have been grouted. He assured me that I would not need to pay for repairs to the wall. I asked Kevin to schedule a repair and he insisted on payment, as we had agreed before. But that agreement was before we realized that the entire problem was caused by his subcontractors not finishing the job in the first place.

My husband and I made the mistake of not holding money back from Canty Construction. It was the height of the pandemic and companies were panicking. I mistakenly felt that if we showed good faith in this company, they would reciprocate. I was wrong. They took our money, and failed to complete the work. I have maintained the documentation showing how they ignored our requests, locked us out of our project as punishment when we asked questions, and failed to complete work in a timely fashion. Yelp is not the place to argue my case, however. We'll do that in court. A year later we are still patiently waiting for contractual and warranty items to be completed. I ask for a timeline and only get vague replies. They have come back and fixed minor repairs, but more significant work is pushed back or refused, such as roof repair, and gutter installation, and even a plumbing repair. We paid 653,000 dollars. We are disappointed with the lack of clear communication, organization, and follow through. Because we paid in full, they are not rushing to complete poor and incomplete work.

He always picks up the phone, inspects the job, quotes, and gets to work and he is done when the job is promised. The quality of the work is also excellent.
