My husband has just the worst skin, growing up in Florida without sunscreen. Dr. Cronin was the only dermatologist who has been able to treat his nasty precancerous stuff all over his face, making him look like a normal person, rather than someone with weird spots everywhere. We live an hour away and she's worth it. I go once a year to make sure I don't become a mess like my husband, being also fair-skinned and growing up in California also without sunscreen. She's so quick and efficient, and yet catches all sorts of weird spots I didn't even notice. You're in and out in minutes, and your spots are all biopsied and burned off. Dermatologists are divas since they're in such high demand. Dr. Cronin is quite the opposite! read more

I visited the doctor for an aggressive rash. The visit was requested by my PCP after my failed attempts to get an appointment with my regular dermatologist (even after explaining the request was for a really BAD rash). The office is clean and well staffed. Also note that the doctor's credentials are quite impressive. I arrived early to complete paperwork and expected a long wait since my appointment was on an emergency basis. I didn't have to wait long. I waited about 15 mins in reception and then was escorted to the exam room. The nurse came in to get details about my issue and the doctor arrived a few mins later. She examined me and gave me a diagnosis. What was initially thought to be a bacterial infection turned out to be a heat induced rash. It's been 2 days since my visit and I feel much better. Although her specialty seems to be cosmetic dermatology and skin cancer, I am so very thankful she took the time to see me. I would definitely recommend her services. read more

Dr. Hyland Cronin has an excellent staff and a beautiful dermatology practice in the heart of Chevy Chase. Her expertise & accolades of degrees are on the wall in the waiting room, which made me feel that I am going to be in the best hands. She is gentle, patient and knowledgeable about skin and it's importance. She is a blessing for young patients battling acne and older patients concerned about aging and any questionable spots that could be cancerous. Dr. Cronin is an excellent dermatologist possessed of many skills. not only is she a fine diagnostician, she is an excellent Moh's surgeon and her skills in general dermatology are superb. In addition to all of that, she has a wonderful, outgoing personality combined with an excellent sense of humor. as if that wasn't enough, she is kind, caring and has excellent listening skills. the icing on the cake is the quality of her office staff. each and every one of them is top of the line. From the front office/business personnel to Nursing staff they are warm, welcoming, knowledgeable and helpful. if there is a better dermatologist in the Washington Area with a better staff, i don't know who it might be. i recommend this practice without reservation. read more

Dr. Cronin is a talented surgeon. She is so easy to talk to, has a relaxing office environment and a top quality, caring staff. Everyone was very professional, there were no long waits on the phone or sitting around forever in the office. My Moh's procedure was quick, painless and the scar healed super fast with no problems whatsoever. I also have a basal cell on my nose and she took time to carefully describe my future treatment regimen to avoid a surgical procedure on a difficult area. My appointment with Dr. Cronin was on March 16th, shortly before lockdown. This office was way ahead of the curve in terms of being aware of the novel coronavirus. All staff had masks, my temperature was taken, and I was given hand sanitizer. Wait time was minimal and my exam was professional and thorough. My insurance didn't cover the visit, but I was so impressed with the care that I will continue to use my FSA and return annually. read more

Mixed experience. Saw Dr. Cronin, she was very professional and courteous. I had some burst blood vessels lasered off my nose, but she missed a spot so I had to go back in for a follow up - no big deal. When I came back in she seemed kind of rushed, had to forego the laser and instead used a hot needle. The needle didn't really do anything - in fact it added a new mark where it touched. Again, good doctor and I would trust her judgement but at the end of the day I'm not happy with the results at the price that I paid. read more
