Everyone was so supportive of our decision. Since that time, my husband and I have begun volunteering at the shelter and have gained a much greater appreciation for what they do there. The staff and all the volunteers are completely committed to helping every animal find their forever home. The facility is a 5 acre open air pens for the dogs and a free roaming building for the cats. This shelter is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization which is run entirely by donations. You can't go wrong adopt and supporting this organization.

Some dogs are in actual houses living in groups like a big canine family. A few are able to safely roam around, greet visitors, and check on other dogs. Working with Amy was a wonderful experience. She supported us with driving directions through Willits and wilderness roads leading to the Sanctuary. Once there, we felt very welcomed by Amy and the support staff. Shortly after, we were able to meet Bogie and provided with guidance and time to become acquainted with each other. The adoption process, from completing the online application to the actual signing and placing Bogie in the car, was easy and smooth. The fees were very reasonable and it was great to have all of Bogie's up to date shots. I appreciated the gift of the harness, leash, and pet store coupon. Yes, I'd definitively consider adopting from Milo again. It was a 3 hour long drive for us but totally worth for the experience of adopting Bogie and bringing him home.

I had recently rescued handsome Orion from slaughter & I had not got him to the point to trust me enough to get a halter on him, so we needed someone with a stock trailer & fast. Luckily, Jack Mattern with Mattern Livestock Hauling was available. Jack arrived and was very professional and conscientious of the situation and my horses needs. We loaded him right up with ease. He also already knew the exact streets to take, once we arrived at the freeway exit to UC Davis Large Animal Hospital, which was a relief and made the going easier. Jack was supportive throughout the whole hauling process. Sadly, my beautiful boy did not make it, as his large bowel was too far swollen & necrotic to survive the surgery. After saying goodbye to my sweet, young boy, Jack provided a much-needed shoulder to cry on. I can't recommend Jack Mattern's service more highly, even though the outcome was horrible, Jack was 100% stellar from start to finish.
