From my initial phone call to Cathy & staff regarding daycare for our 4mo old golden retriever to our sort of last minute decision to board him for a night, EVERYTHING about BBK was smooth, easy and comfortable! Not to mention our little guy Griffin was absolutely loving life. They clearly are playing and having a blast as his GPS collar was showing lots of activity throughout his stay! We dropped off (early as well) and regardless of my apprehension they were friendly at 755am, greeted Griff and led him immediately out to play! Without shame, he had a bag packed with toys, towels, food, bowls, treats etc and upon pickup everything was there and in great shape! I think the quote was "hes got luggage" :) Leaving after the first 48 hours, Griff whimpered as he didnt want to leave- not knowing he was headed back the next day. The staff was friendly, knew him by the end and made us feel completely comfortable to enjoy our ski trip. WITHOUT hesitation we would recommend Cathy & Staff at Barker Brook and hope we can see them on our next trip to Sunday River!

It was a Boxer, and we have owned several .Actually showed one in Obedience. Own our own home, and semi retired, with excellent vet references. Had 2 successful visits, but when we brought our Pom puppy, she was not friendly and unwilling to play. She gets car sick so was out of sorts already. Second visit was a little better. So thats 5 times we had already been there. We were told we could " come as often as it would take by a staffer names Robyn. The 6th visit we were told the dog was in"medical quarantine" and they'd let us know when we could come again. They never did and his pic was removed several days later. We were sad, but hoped he had gotten a good family. That hope was dashed yesterday when we actually ran into the new adopter, a disheveled young man with no teeth. We are stunned, and wondering how this fellow, who cant afford dental work, can afford a pure bred dog susceptible to cancer and Degenerative Myeolpathy. Our hearts break for this beautiful dog. My hubs actually also passed him on the North/South road because the dog had his head out the car window. Vermont plates so I hope he was thoroughly vetted. We've adopted from other rescues, but will pass on Conway in the future. We felt dismissed and disrespected.

Since we were 100 miles away from regular vet, the search was on for "someone" to help us and our distressed pup. The folks at BAH were most caring, helpful and concerned. They "fit us in" to the schedule to assess, provided antibiotic and cone collar. Dr. Sullivan along with Buffy and Jean at the front desk were both welcoming and understanding of our situation. No question, BAH would be our choice if we lived locally. Thank you so much to the entire staff...WELL DONE!

Dr. White's diagnosis was spot on, and we were able to bring her to the emergency hospital in Scarborough for surgery. Dr. White and the team saved her life! I think people from out of town don't realize that this is a small practice with one Vet who can only do so much. They are not offering night time emergencies, and daytime depends on availability. In the negative reviews here, the people are from out of town AAND had an emergency. This is the North country and we don't have the range of services people expect further south. We ourselves usually have to drive to Portland for a 24 hr larger vet that is set up to handle emergencies, especially at night.
