Overall the lattes lacked flavor. Tasted like milk water. The food was good but felt very overpriced. $45 for two 12 oz lattes, a burrito, avocado toast and a chocolate croissant. Service was quick. I enjoyed the seating and looking at the photos on the wall. After I showed my wife this review I gave. She disagreed and enjoyed the meal and drink. So I have to provide an updated version.

Whenever I am downtown I make sure to stop by and get one of my favorite brew and bakery treat. I absolutely love coming to Crooks because it's setting is chill, welcoming and being in the heart of downtown I love to grab a seat next to the big window and people watch. The employees are always so friendly and helpful. The establishment is well organized and so tidy. It feels like your grabbing coffee at your friends house honestly. They have a big selection of coffee and bakery goods to choose from and always try to get any customization just right.

If you're looking for some good, locally roasted coffee in Santa Rosa, cruise over to Crooks Coffee. They happen to be family-owned and independent, which is pretty much the opposite of a chain like Starbucks, and they'll remind you of that with their funny "Starbucks sucks" merch for sale (haha)! We dug the hipster/artsy and vintage-y vibes, and ode to writer/poet Edgar Allen Poe. It's like The Raven come to life in coffee shop fashion! My hubby and I enjoyed some tasty lattes, smooth and bold with just a hint of sweetness (definitely not bitter). The only bummer was that there were really no vegan options food-wise except for an avocado toast. Baked goods/pastries are either made in-house or by a local bakery, which is great, but again, not vegan friendly which was a bit of a bummer. It's worth mentioning that Sundays are free street parking (woohoo!) and it wasn't too busy on the Sunday we dropped in around 8:45-9am. Great coffee for locals and visitors alike, and definitely worth a visit, "Quoth the raven..." ;)

I just tried this new coffee shop for the first time and immediately walking in the girl was so sweet and the coffee was sooo good ! Such a cute vibe

My husband and I had a lovely Wednesday morning here during our honeymoon. I had the crème brûlée latte, which was delicious and actually had a brûlée crust. They also made me a little lox bagel sandwich. My hubby and I read our books and really enjoyed the Poe decor and the little free library. We would totally come back if we lived closer!

Fabulous small coffee shop in Downtown Santa Rosa. Keeping with my theme, this coffee shop offers delicious coffee, WiFi, and a comfortable work area. While I usually visit coffee shops during the work week, we stopped here over a weekend and it was perfect. Great ambiance, good location, super friendly service, and most importantly, delicious coffee. Highly recommended. Will visit again.

RUDE customer service, probably doesn't like her job. Worst way to start your Saturday morning in beautiful Santa Rosa is here to be treated like an ungrateful customer. Won't ever come again. To the owner: your barista in the blue should learn what customer service means before making drinks. If her attitude stinks -- nothing tastes good.

What I ordered: -Iced Breve Latte [4/5] -Iced Crème Brûlée Latte [5/5] _ I visited Crooks Coffee in Santa Rosa because their coffee looked enticing, especially the crème brûlée latte. When I arrived, the café wasn't too busy, and we received our drinks within five minutes. The ambiance of the store is charming, with delightful decor. The crème brûlée latte was perfectly balanced--not too sweet, just right. Their breve was also delicious. I highly recommend this café!

Awesome vibes, cool crowd, great coffee. Music was live and hitting all tones. The place was spacious. It was busy on a weekend afternoon.

I'm definitely not a fan of their lattes and espressos, but they do have a good cup of black coffee.

They have lots of options for food and drinks, but I just came in for some pastries and tea. The service was good and very helpful. I wanted to try the gluten free scone, because I'd heard good things about it. Plus, I had to try the Gateaux Basque, even though gluten is not always good for me. The scone was very good, especially with a cup of tea. I ordered the Love Tea, which is really worth pairing with pastries. It has a lot of warming flavors like cinnamon and cacao. The real star here was the Gateaux Basque. A soft cookie-like dough forms the crust while the center has a vanilla custard and a cherry jam of sorts. It has one of the most pleasing textures and flavors I've had in a cake. It is worth coming here just for this, although I will have to come back and try some of their other foods. I would also note that while the quiche looks really good I couldn't justify paying $15 for a slice of it. I realize it comes with a little side salad, but when I asked if I could get it without the salad they said they couldn't charge me less for it. Oh well. Marla SR is a great addition to this neighborhood! Come check them out!

I was not impressed by the Coffey but would go again and again and again for the crebble. Personally, I prefer taking things to go as the space can feel a little bit crowded.

Overall smooth but not too strong, and a tiny bit sweet probably from whatever almond milk they use! I like mine a bit stronger and it's not the best I've had but decent! "For here" mugs are always a plus in my book too. Brew is unique that it doubles as a cozy bar too once the late afternoon rolls around. They've got interesting events happening throughout the month posted on their sign. Some of their food and pastries are sourced from local Red Bird Bakery and Village Bakery too if you're hungry! Parking might suck, you could find street parking maybe on 8th St or if you're early you could park by the meters for free before 9AM. There's a $1/hr parking garage right nearby but if there's nothing, best to park at SR Plaza for free and make the 5min walk over. When the food finally arrived, the chicken schnitzel was dry, overcooked, and tasted like it had spent far too long sunbathing under a heat lamp. Once our food was delivered, our waitress performed her most impressive trick of the afternoon: disappearing completely. My water ran out about 10 minutes into battling the Sahara schnitzel and was never refilled--which felt especially cruel considering that entrée required its own hydration plan. To give credit where it's due, the Crimson Revelry cocktail was absolutely delicious, and the fries were very good. Sadly, neither could rescue the rest of the experience.
