It was a breeze to sign up with them, and they helped me select the best size unit for what we needed, and helped get the best deal. It seems like they usually have some kind of special, but depending on the size you need and how long you will need it make some of them better suited to you. I was glad she took the time to walk me through the differences. One of the best things about them is that all the units are indoor and climate controlled! We all know how critical that can be in Michigan. I didn't have to worry about water damage, heat or humidity damage, mold, freezing, or standing out in the rain/snow to load and unload. There is a keypad entrance and you drive right in. The doors are large enough to accommodate moving trucks, though I didn't have to attempt that. Our unit was fairly close to where we could park, though we couldn't get a "drive-up" unit in the size we needed. Thankfully, they provide rolling carts so moving large boxes from a car to the unit went smoothly. The facility is very nice and clean as well. This might be in part because it is fairly new, but the floors are all polished, the doors to each unit are clean, and the units themselves are all clean. Even the gates above the unit seem to be really clean. It's just another bonus to having indoor versus outdoor storage. The only negatives were mostly to do with other customers. Most of the time we were the only ones there when loading or unloading. Occasionally other people were also there though. For example: all 3 of the carts were taken by one group; someone parked their car too close to the keypad to leave the facility so we could only access it by getting out of the car to enter our code; someone unloaded all of their stuff and almost completely blocked any path to exit the facility. The only negative we experienced at all was that we didn't receive a confirmation email after we cleared our unit and it was inspected. That's such a minor thing it doesn't even matter. We just stopped by the office to double check that it was done and we were all set. We could have even called instead, but were heading next door to Lowe's anyway. We had a very positive experience with Devon Self Storage. I would absolutely recommend them, and would use them again if I had any storage needs.

The rental spots on the north end of the property are most vulnerable . Use caution!!

I found a cheaper place and moved out on July 12, but they refuse to refund my money for the remainder of July. They only had a cart to use one time, and there were a lot of bugs in my unit when we moved out (it was an interior unit too). If you're looking for a storage unit, run far away from this one. They will drain you dry and send your call to an I dia call center when they don't want to talk to you.

The previous manager (no longer there) was great to deal with and handled my concerns. The new staff since last fall however is very hard to deal with and can't answer my questions and get a basic lease set up and match the quote /price promised(first month half off). Overcharged and they can't fix it. Management has no real authority to make things right. They sure can auto bill and overcharge, but refuse to make it right. Disgusted with the staff. The storage unit itself is nice and secure and average price range. Another side note - we are expected to keep our unit clean and move out clean. Well... we moved units on a last minute necessity over a weekend. The new unit was found dirty and piles of dirt all over. I mentioned it to the manager the next Monday and once again, they did nothing about it. Quite disappointed the standards are not consistent and you can't communicate or get things corrected with office staff. There was a computer system change over the winter. I was overcharged and accidentally billed on a daily basis for a week and they would not refund... just kept updating a new balance incorrectly for the next month. Finally got that fixed after a couple weeks.

That was wrong and very rude. Then offered to sell us another model for $130 more than we had to spend. Very disappointed and needless to say would not recommend these poor business practices to anyone else. Sad that your "manager" is so cutthroat that he sells product right from under other sales people. What happened today was wrong and rude to more than one person. You have lost at least one customer and possibly more. This is one recommendation/ review that will not be favorable.

I agree, he charges my card and I leave with the equipment. The owner then calls me and said they have a new computer system and they made a mistake on their end. He charged me an extra $851.72 for a total one day rental now costing $1,428.93. Do not use these crooks.

I showed a photo to Dan and Roger when I arrived and asked if their jack hammer would do the job. They both assured me that it would then I asked for suggestions and pointers since I had never used a jack hammer before. They were both super helpful which translated to an easier job onsite (it was 1.5 hours of "hard labor", but I was expecting that!) Super grateful Dan and Roger were so willing to share their tips and were so accommodating with the rental! Great job, Alpine Rental!
