Not only did they not complete the job, they ruined the gazebo. I received no reimbursement of any kind. And on top of everything, they were extremely late showing up both days and communication was terrible. They do not take out car seats for cleanings due to safety concerns. Cleaned under my seats and vacuumed my mats as well. Spotless and smelled great! Two weeks later before I had an appointment to fix all the issues the Ford Escape would not move by stop sign. I had all I could do to get it gear to move the car to a parking lot. I got towed to the mechanic and got bad news the transmission is burned out. It will cost anywhere from three thousand to four thousand to fix the transmission. Tried reach to them if they could work something out. Chip said read the paperwork you sign. It sold as is. You bought it you own it. I can't believe these great reviews this can't be the same guy. It was a breeze to sign up with them, and they helped me select the best size unit for what we needed, and helped get the best deal. It seems like they usually have some kind of special, but depending on the size you need and how long you will need it make some of them better suited to you. I was glad she took the time to walk me through the differences. One of the best things about them is that all the units are indoor and climate controlled! We all know how critical that can be in Michigan. I didn't have to worry about water damage, heat or humidity damage, mold, freezing, or standing out in the rain/snow to load and unload. There is a keypad entrance and you drive right in. The doors are large enough to accommodate moving trucks, though I didn't have to attempt that. Our unit was fairly close to where we could park, though we couldn't get a "drive-up" unit in the size we needed. Thankfully, they provide rolling carts so moving large boxes from a car to the unit went smoothly. The facility is very nice and clean as well. This might be in part because it is fairly new, but the floors are all polished, the doors to each unit are clean, and the units themselves are all clean. Even the gates above the unit seem to be really clean. It's just another bonus to having indoor versus outdoor storage. The only negatives were mostly to do with other customers. Most of the time we were the only ones there when loading or unloading. Occasionally other people were also there though. For example: all 3 of the carts were taken by one group; someone parked their car too close to the keypad to leave the facility so we could only access it by getting out of the car to enter our code; someone unloaded all of their stuff and almost completely blocked any path to exit the facility. The only negative we experienced at all was that we didn't receive a confirmation email after we cleared our unit and it was inspected. That's such a minor thing it doesn't even matter. We just stopped by the office to double check that it was done and we were all set. We could have even called instead, but were heading next door to Lowe's anyway. We had a very positive experience with Devon Self Storage. I would absolutely recommend them, and would use them again if I had any storage needs.

Then the local guy called to confirm my reservation. I verified that I wanted to compare the small unit with the next unit up. No problem. I arrive at the appointment time. The local guy shakes my hand and proceeds to tell me something entirely different than what he told me on the phone. These folks are eager to upsell you into a unit size you don't need. So they tell you a) you misunderstood. I didn't. Or b) they don't have any more units of the very size you're looking for. But! They happen to have the $149/mo unit. That will work just fine, Ma'am. Only if you're paying, sir. Their website, an hour earlier clearly said they had a unit available. It still does. So, the company's shopping cart doesn't update to reflect actual availability? That's bait and switch, Consumer. Avoid this location.

The previous manager (no longer there) was great to deal with and handled my concerns. The new staff since last fall however is very hard to deal with and can't answer my questions and get a basic lease set up and match the quote /price promised(first month half off). Overcharged and they can't fix it. Management has no real authority to make things right. They sure can auto bill and overcharge, but refuse to make it right. Disgusted with the staff. The storage unit itself is nice and secure and average price range. Another side note - we are expected to keep our unit clean and move out clean. Well... we moved units on a last minute necessity over a weekend. The new unit was found dirty and piles of dirt all over. I mentioned it to the manager the next Monday and once again, they did nothing about it. Quite disappointed the standards are not consistent and you can't communicate or get things corrected with office staff. There was a computer system change over the winter. I was overcharged and accidentally billed on a daily basis for a week and they would not refund... just kept updating a new balance incorrectly for the next month. Finally got that fixed after a couple weeks.
