CFH has been more than I expected from a "gym." So much so I've told everyone about it and continue to recruit new members!

I had never heard of this franchise until recently, so after researching the brand further, I…read morescheduled and completed a free class. Although the facility appears much larger in the website photos and videos, it was smaller than expected. However, I was really excited about the experience. Prior to the free class, the staff member provided a comprehensive tour of the facility that included information about the benefits of infrared technology and fitness. The keyless entry location features 24/7 accessibility. As for the workouts, each workout station includes virtual instruction. My favorite was the cycling station. The rooms are compact and blazingly hot, but heat-adjustable. For this reason, I could not imagine being in the enclosed compartments with two other people. The facility not only features the HIIT workouts, hot-cycle, hot-thunder, and hot-blast, but also Isometric workouts such as hot-iso, hot-pilates, and hot-yoga. There is also a small workout area in the back featuring free weights. Smith machine and TRX bands. There are two bathrooms featuring glass showers. They also feature brand merchandise at the front. Overall, the location was clean. The workout rooms were clean, and the bathrooms were clean and well-stocked. Again, I think it is an interesting concept with some amazing results and benefit claims.

They offer 24/7 access which is also great. Maury took care of me for my complimentary class. I took the Hot Barre None. It was a good 30 min session. It's nice and clean in there as well which is what I love the most since Saunas are involved. It doesn't smell sweaty or anything. I love that they also have a weight area if you want to do some strength training. The membership price $59 is a steal for unlimited classes. I can't wait to return and try more classes. It's so many to choose from since there are 6 rooms; some have workout machines. The instructors are virtual on the screen. I highly recommend everyone try it out. It is low impact and totally worth it.

I went to the gym to inquire about their training (personal) and everything seemed okay. I asked about pricing and exceptions The man in the front explained everything however what was not posted or even stated was their agreement rules. I was told that upon signing up I would receive a call to set up a day and time with the trainer; 299 for 4 weeks one day a week. When I signed up it was the beginning of the month ( February 2nd) strike 1 did not receive a call to schedule until a week later, strike two could not match schedules so I asked them to cancel my membership and because we could not find something that matches our schedules and I never was given services to refund me. They said in their agreement that they do not do refunds. Where is the agreement posted in their gym, and it was never sent to me. I literally had to search their website to find information. I disputed the transaction within my bank and lost...ok fine but now they say I owe 65 after multiple emails telling them I want nothing to do with company is crazy. This company is not honest, not transparent, and my experience has been the worst!

I attended my first class at Mayweather as I was considering becoming a member. I spoke with Travis…read morea few times on the phone about my options and he was super helpful with helping me understand what Mayweather has to offer. I got to class 15 minutes early as requested. There wasn't anyone at the front desk but I overheard an explanation being provided of to someone so I listened in. The space is an open room with cubbies for your belongings and then a front desk area with some retail and a few hi top tables. The class started at 12:10 and is shown on the television. The workout itself is a circuit that gets you to all of the stations including some strength work, cardio and ends with abs. I loved the strength and ab work and the music. Other than that I didn't care for the combination of the television guide, the 4 different types of boxing bags (I prefer the aqua bag) or the bright lights during the workout. The set-up reminded me of orange theory which wasn't for me the few times I tried it. I think 7-8 stations going at once was also too distracting for me. The instructor was really nice and did his best to check in on everyone but it wasn't enough for me, I couldn't keep up with all the competing voices and movements. If you're seeking a fast paced full body workout you should check out this location.

I signed up for the one week trial and had a great time! I was only able to attend four classes,…read morebut enjoyed each one. The instructors were really helpful and gave me some modification options. It would probably help to have some background knowledge of common lifts, but the instructors show the movements and they play on video screens if you need it. Everyone attending was generally in their own zone, so there isn't a lot of chatting because you really focus on getting the exercises done in the set times. I will say that the classes go by super quickly because you're always moving. Cons: The programming is set for the whole month. So each day of the week has its set program and you do that each week for the whole month. For me, this would get old (I really need variety). On the plus side, it does mean you get to see active gains throughout the month. The membership plan is a little pricey. I get why it costs so much, since they do have to cover rent and you only really attend during the class sessions. It isn't a type of gym where you just drop in when you want to use certain equipment. The unlimited monthly membership is $299, but in reality you are getting 30 or 31 classes depending on the month. Since the classes are the same all day, it is unlikely you would do two classes in a day, right? So the pricing is about $10/class if you do the unlimited monthly pass and you go every day. Some of the equipment was pretty smelly. I was at one station that honestly made me gag a little... I think the bench or maybe the dumbells had never been thoroughly cleaned with a bleach solution.

Always a great workout, well maintained facilities and the community is great. Highly recommend.read more

I'm not sure if much has changed but paying under $200/month in DC seemed like a bargain to me. Also, I think it was very smart for the owner to invest in a box in this neighborhood as it will gentrify exponentially over the next several years. I noticed the classes started getting busier and busier each month I was there as word caught on and more people moved to the area. The only negatives I can speak of is that sometimes our instructor slept in and didn't make it to the early morning session. Getting up at 5 AM for nothing on several occasions pissed me off. Also, I can't speak of the community. DC tends to be a city where people keep to themselves. Down in Macon, GA where I was a member there was definitely a sense of community. At this box, it's just people running in, working out for an hour, and heading home. I did attend a happy hour event one night and only 3 of us showed up. I'm not sure I'd call that a tight community but it has nothing to do with the box itself, just DC people in general.

As someone that was new to crossfit, I was pleased how dedicated they were to ensuring proper technique. People are welcome at all levels of ability. I enjoy the atmosphere and comradery at the gym. It's bright and most people are excited to get sweaty and workout. It's not too crowded, although its hit or miss on whether there are 5 or 14 people in your class. I've heard that our gym is quite a bit larger than other DC crossfit gyms, which is especially nice for barbell movements. They have all the equipment necessary, which is in normal working order. A con that I think of is that the place isn't the cleanest. My hands are filthy after each workout. A dog, or sometimes two have been in the gym during training, which isn't great for people like me with allergies (lots of dog hair everywhere). The dogs don't interfere with working out, which is good.

I had to rest for a few minutes during my first workout in months, and Jeff took this opportunity to try and push personal training. When I questioned him about two sessions a week, he grew overtly indignant (clearly hoping for more sessions to put money in his pocket). Honestly, this initial encounter really made me adverse to the gym space. I know it's a business, but feeling like you're just a means to an end isn't an incentive to join.

I am one class away from finishing up my five class pack from Groupon and I'll definitely continue coming. The staff is well-trainer, friendly, and accommodating. If you ask, they will give alternates to any workouts that you may not be able to do. The weekday morning classes have been the perfect size for me and Saturday morning was a bit crowded. I haven't tried the weekday evening classes so I'm unsure about the class sizes. Overall great gym to be apart of, plenty of parking, not located near a metro but there are bus stops around.
