I recently began CrossFit in March of 2021. I had started at a box that was not the right fit. I was on the search for a new box and was blown away by CrossFit Inner Loop. The class availability, the welcoming attitude of coaches and clients, the space itself, the programming, and the social aspect are all huge draws to this gym. Hard workouts can SUCK, they suck in the best possible way here and I always show up amped for a great workout. By far my FAV thing about this gym is the number of WOMEN LEAD CLASSES! *Drop In Review I gave a 5 since both my drop in classes were enjoyable. If you're ubering to the location - go behind the warehouse area and drive to the lights. I was lost for like 30 seconds when my Uber dropped me off and I had a mini panic attack; I couldn't see a thing and NO ONE was around (I did the 7am class the first time I dropped in AKA it was dark outside). Luckily, I heard rowing machines and found my way. Parking is good. I saw cars moving in and out the area. Didn't see anyone struggle for a spot. Why a 5: 1. Coach Rachel (7am) and Laura (6am) were great instructors. Both made it clear what the warm ups and WODs were. 2. Good at keeping an eye on the class. I briefly mentioned I'm not a massive Crossfiter, but I've done it for like 2 years. I could tell they both made sure my form was decent, haha. 3. Very friendly environment. I did a 6am and 7am class on different days. Everyone was really nice, but didn't bother me during the workout, haha. I know at times when new people come, some people ask 21 questions. 4. Big space in doors and outdoors. I love when I have that choice. 5. Very good time management. I told both coaches I had leave at like 6:55/7:55 respectively on the days I came and they made sure I got the WOD done. I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area. read more

Visited during a trip to the area. Location: In an industrial park, close to Silver Spring. Safe spot. Parking: Back area of the buildings, good parking close to the box. Facility: Good equipment and clean facility. New equipment was coming in when I visited, seems like they are professional about the quality of the place. Staff: Very friendly and professional. John ran the workout and was very clear and detailed with the warmup and WOD. Family Owned and they are a great combination to run a box. Atmosphere: People were friendly and warm to the dropin. A friend of mine got a month pass for a guest and gave it to me, since I used to do CrossFit prior to baby 2. I wasn't sure I was ready to get back into it and I was kinda hoping it would suck so I could duck out. I spoke with Jara and said " I have a crazy schedule blah, blah, blah " and she was like "that's cool we can figure something out." I was still skeptical about it until they legit worked it out and set me up with John Steiner. John has to be one of the best trainers I've ever worked with... ever... and I played a lot of sports. He was patient, motivating, and kept the workouts moving, all the while listening to how I was feeling and where I was having issues. He is a phenomenal trainer and never made me feel like the "old mom" trying to get back in shape, which is definitely what I am lol. I'm fairly new to CrossFit but used to be a personal trainer and have been involved in fitness for a while. I was a skeptic when first hearing about CrossFit but had an open mind and have tried other CrossFit gyms. This is the first one I've become a member of. Partly because I just wanted a change from my routine and partly because I had a great experience the first time I went. It was a great work out and I was spent when I was done. The trainers are all personable and knowledgeable. The first time I went they didn't try to push the hard sell on me. They let me try it out and didn't push me to talk after the workout. The gym is new so classes are still small. All the members I've met so far have been friendly. In comparison to what I saw from another CrossFit gym nearby this one has much more space, both in square footage and height. It has all the heavy weights I'm used to and like. Plus, it has ropes, rings, and a rig where lots of people can do pull ups at the same time. Like a big playground. Obviously, I recommend this gym if you're looking for A CrossFit gym in this area. read more

Was at CrossFit Inner Loop for 4 or 5 months while in transition. This is a really great gym! There are a number of coaches and each has his/her own specialty and style. For example, while I was there, Steve had a 6-weeks gymnastics seminar. Another coach does weightlifting. The programming is well-rounded as well as the coaches. Have been to a number of CrossFit gyms and find the gyms I like the most tend to be the ones where the coaches workout with class. This says a lot. The coaches believe in CrossFit, believe in the programming, and like being part of the community. If a chef doesn't eat their own food, why should I, right? read more

The coaches take time to discuss the warm-ups, workouts, and scaling options in detail and demonstrate every move, no matter how simple or basic, and they give everyone individual attention to correct form or give encouragement. Every class has a good mix of athletes at different levels, so everyone fits in. The community is great--everyone is so friendly! When my husband said he wanted to try out crossfit, i was skeptical and incredibly nervous. We had absolutely no experience and I was afraid i was too out of shape for such an intense workout regimen. So we both did a lot of research, i called around to a lot of places but I got a very good first impression from Crossfit Inner Loop. I spoke with Jara, the owner and coach. She was so incredibly friendly and helpful, she put all my concerns at ease. We started our onramp in June 2016 and now my husband and i are hooked! We have never met such friendly and helpful coaches! Not only that but EVERY SINGLE MEMBER welcomed us and make us at home. We are still newbies but we are excited to continue working out here. As initially reluctant participants, we were persuaded by our 34-year old son (a Crossfit devotee who was visiting us) to give CrossfitInnerloop a try. He had checked other Crossfit gyms in the area and said that Innerloop was the one for us. Each Crossfit gym seems to have its own personality. After finishing the OnRamp (6 introductory classes), we were hooked and are now nearing our first year there and feeling fitter than ever. Jane and I are retired and fairly active (regular spinning and yoga classes), and we have come to love the Crossfit regimen we found at Innerloop which is a unique place run by friendly experts who make everyone welcome while working them hard. They're encouraging, friendly, and never intimidating . The facility is spacious and well-equipped. They stress fundamentals which minimizes injuries, yet they regularly challenge everyone. The mindset is that we all need to keep improving all the time. Innerloop is not your typical, testosterone-driven gym since it's run by a woman (Jara McDermott) who understands that workouts need to be scaleable and geared to each individual's capabilities. This certainly applies to Jane and I who are always the oldest ones there. We now do things we never thought we'd attempt - handstands, rope climbing - and have seen a steady increase in our lifting ability, endurance, and strength that translates into increased competence in everyday llfe. Innerloop is also family-friendly and participants often bring their kids and pets to hang out while they workout. We have met some wonderful people there too. It's a fun place and we always look forward to going there. The workouts are varied and never boring, and it's especially enjoyable working with others and encouraging and being encouraged. CrossFit Inner Loop has been my crossfit box for 2.5 years and I'm so sad to leave because I'm moving away. When I entered the gym 2.5 years ago, I had never touched a barbell before. The coaching team made sure I'd learn and safely practice all the movements before loading heavy weights. To this day I'm still a bit intimidated by heavy weights, and they know when to encourage and push me and when to keep it light. All the coaches are very knowledgable and skillful - after your first on-ramp classes you can go to different classes and meet the coaches and see which coach/coaching style works best for you. The gym is fairly big and clean for a crossfit box. They have rowing machines, assault bikes, and ski ergs and they are usually integrated in the WODs. A typical class consists of a strength/skill portion and a conditioning WOD, with many scaling options provided by the coaches. I have seen and worked out at several other crossfit boxes, and they've all been friendly and welcoming. CFIL is no exception - they are extremely family and dog friendly and a great community. Highly recommend CrossFit InnerLoop if you are experienced, newcomer, or a drop in. Facility: Great facility with lots of space and top-notch equipment. I've dropped in at CrossFits around the country and this one is awesome. It is exactly what you think of for a CF space -- high ceilings, bay doors, great rig. Coaches: All of the coaches are very knowledgeable and have been in the CF business for some time. These are not people who got their L1 last week. They are committed professionals. Community: This is a new box but I've already experienced the community here. People are friendly and supportive. It is welcoming of people of all skill levels. They have classes for kids and teens too. For those new to CrossFit, CF InnerLoop is a great place to start. The coaches are knowledgeable and supportive and you'll learn a ton here in a safe environment. For experienced CrossFitters, I highly recommend InnerLoop. I don't like to workout but I love the benefits of exercise. CrossFit combines everything you need into one workout the result is functional as well as aesthetically pleasing results. Most CrossFit gyms have good workouts and ok coaches but what makes this a five star box for me is the camaraderie amongst the athletes and the extensive knowledge and experience of the coaches. Jara, Rachel, Sean, Amy and Erin all have amazing people skills and can communicate to you in a professional way that helps you improve comfortably. They know how much to push based on your personal goals and they are realistic in their expectations. If you are bored with your workout but reluctant to start CrossFit because of its difficulty this is the place for you; they will work with you at your pace and you will surprise yourself. If you feel neglected at your current gym this is also the place for you; our coaches are always attentive and (even though I don't think they plan this) most classes have more than one around to help. The people are really friendly as well just stop by and see how welcome you feel. Finally they have WODIFY, the app that allows you to track and store all your workouts and lifts electronically so you don't have to calculate percentages you just check your phone - it made a huge difference in tracking progress for me. It also lets you know how many classes you have left on each monthly cycle. This gym makes CrossFit doable and tons of fun for me. Highly recommend it! read more
