The gym is hitting financial hard times. Monthly rates recently increased by 67%. Ouch. I'm seeing…read morefewer people in the gym, which is rare for January, so obviously some members have become former members. I too am looking at other options. When businesses roll out big price hikes, it's usually a sign that they won't be around much longer. On the plus side, the gym, while being somewhat small, has plenty of equipment - pretty much everything I need. I've been able to attain the results I was seeking. Crowding isn't much of a problem. Restrooms are clean. There's plenty of parking, tho' parts of the parking area could use better lighting. Now for the bad. Mean Time To Repair is often measured in weeks if not months. I get it, "supply chain," but this has been going on for a few years, so it should be possible to stock spare parts by now. The south door hasn't functioned correctly for the better part of a year. It needs to be fixed, and it's not rocket science. Some instructors in the studio have no concern for other members using the gym. They blast cr@ppy music out of the studio for a class of 4 or 5 people. Meanwhile, the other gym members have to either put up with the noise or blast their own eardrums to block it out. Totally inconsiderate. The place has doors, please use them. The problems above are fixable. The outcome of the financial difficulties remains to be seen.

Typically when we go to this ymca both of my brothers recive racketball rackets and go to the room downstairs and play racket ball but today they told us that my 11 year old brother was allowed to go but my 9 year old brother was not for safety reasons. we completley understood and complied. we proceeded to go and we started to lift when we were approached by a staff member and told that my little brother was not welcome in that room. my mother proceeded to ask if he could simply sit next to us and he would not touch anything. the staff member left us alone and thats when one of the managers said that he was again not welcome in that room for safety reasons. we again complied and i went to bring my little brother to the racket ball room. i went to ask for a racket for him to use and was told i couldnt have one because i didnt have a driver's license. im 14 by the way. there was no other option for my little brother, the manager brought a chair and my little brother was told to sit in the hallway as he was crying. it was after that when we cancelled our membership because paying 100 dollars a month for that type of treatment is ridiculous.
