So we came to this venue. Right off the bat you are welcomed with the whole loft style open concept of nothing but people moving around. Even a giant viewing window of the pool as well. There's an abundance of free weights, that's cool. There's cardio machines, assisted pull ups. Stretch room at the corner. Theres even some racquet ball rooms. The sauna is the best part of any gym. Food $$$ & no outside food or drink allowed. Shakes taste a 5 on a scale of 1-10. After taste that keeps you from finishing the whole shake. Each shake $11- $15 Staff is nice, but limited in helping you. Price is set. Memberships very complicated. There really is no "you can go to any gym if you work aboard." each gym has specific benefits. If it doesn't match up boom not allowed. For example: NY has 14 gyms that do not allow you to go. Period! Membership offers a "all gyms" with hike up in $$$. So you pay extra for nothing. Look on line and it shows you how few gyms are interchangeable. Hot tubs need updating. Water is low so it hits you below chest with only 3 jets in the entire tub aimed at your back. Just like a motel would have.

Two months later charges for training sessions started showing up on my credit card. Crunch charged me well over $1000 before I got them to stop charging. They admitted on the phone that the overcharge was a computer error, but were careful to not put it in writing. After multiple calls and visits I was informed that they were unwilling to refund my money, despite having provided ZERO services for the money they charged me. If you HAVE to use Crunch Fitness you better CHECK your cards and bank accounts every month.

Also, there's a guy who lurks around the parking lot and will wait for you to approach the door, then run up on you and act like he's a member who just can't scan in, then he'll go into the bathroom and just hang out. He never works out. This has happened on many occasions, and he's done this to my husband too. Sadly due to this I have to drive farther away to go to a different location at night.

I was offered a deal to pay upfront for the full year vs. month to month so I did that. After four and a half months, with absolutely no notice or email communication to members, the gym permanently closed and doors were locked when I arrived one day. After trying to find out what was going on, I was informed they moved memberships to Workout Anytime. However, when I chased down someone to talk to about getting the remainder of my money for July through December, I was told they are not doing refunds and Workout Anytime was equivalent. However, Workout Anytime does not offer classes, which is the main reason I joined Fitness1440, and their basic month to month is less than what I paid, as well as in another location not convenient for me. I would prefer the remainder of my funds to be able find a new reliable gym that offers classes. To abruptly close a gym, not send out a notice to members, force them to a smaller gym in another location that is NOT the equivalent of what they signed up for, and not offer a refund is unprofessional to say the least. Absolutely terrible way to conduct a business!

It wasn't until I came in for my initial visit I knew I was in the right place. I know anyone who struggles with their weight can have a really hard time walking into the gym and seeing so many different bodies, but most of them slimmer than your own. I was prepared to have that feeling, BUT it never came. I have been going 3 times a week for about a month now, and I am learning so much. BUT best of all I am ALWAYS greeted so kindly and anytime I have a question like, what supplies do I need for a particular class, what is RED THERAPY, what is towel service, and all kinds of others questions I met with a smile and an answer. I do have to also say the Locker rooms are SPOTLESS. I swim when I go so I usually have to take a shower to get the chlorine off. I have NEVER been disappointed with the cleanliness of the locker rooms. If I could give the ONELIFE in Woodstock a 6 out of 5 I would.
