It ended up not being right for me because the timing of the programs and classes didn't work out. When I joined, it happened to be a challenge month for 3g classes. Meaning there were three types of workouts in the 50 minute rotation. Treadmill, rowing and floor with weights. I loved that bc I can't handle spending half of a class on the treadmill. I signed up and loved the first month. Then the second month went back to a more classic class schedule. I did not realize so many 3g class options was not typical. There were still some 3g classes but not within my morning availability. So it became all 2g, meaning half the class was running and the other half was rowing. I do like the rowing but running on a treadmill for 25 minutes is too much for me. There were other structured "upper body" and "lower body" classes but I could only make one due to schedule. Overall I think it could be a great program for those who like the structure. It just didn't work for me.

The current manager, Janine, has consistently been rude, condescending, and disrespectful. One of the biggest issues involved my teenage son. Before bringing him, my husband followed every requirement the gym asked for. He provided his birth certificate, completed all of the required paperwork, and entered his information into their system MORE THAN ONCE. Despite that, every single visit became an interrogation. Janine repeatedly questioned his age in front of other members and ultimately refused to allow him to work out with my husband. It was embarrassing for my son and completely unnecessary. What made my decision to leave even easier was how I was treated during one of the hardest periods of my life. After being diagnosed with breast cancer, I underwent a double mastectomy followed by a hysterectomy. My doctors prohibited me from exercising during my recovery. At the time, I had nearly 20 prepaid personal training sessions remaining. Despite my medical situation and documentation, Crunch refused to freeze my account. I lost the sessions I had already paid for. My husband and I both canceled our memberships on the same day. During his cancellation, Janine even wrote "child" as the reason for canceling. That was completely false. We canceled because of the repeated harassment and unprofessional treatment our family experienced every time we came to the gym. On top of the customer service issues, I overheard an employee say that a tanning bed had not been cleaned after a member used it, yet another person was still allowed to use it. The locker rooms were also consistently filthy. Losing the money I had invested in personal training was frustrating, but ultimately it was worth it to never have to deal with this management team again. Janine was never apologetic and never seemed interested in making sure members were happy. While I cancelled my membership I watched her talk down to employees, roll her eyes at members and just really be nasty all around. And it's pretty clear that the staff is not loving her either. She is definitely not an asset and i would put her in the same category as the parking-the absolute worst/awful and makes it not worth going there at all.

I was immediately welcomed by the friendly and encouraging staff and felt so at home! I've taken 6 classes so far and I'm hooked. If you're a Bikram practitioner of any level, I recommend Ash - they have a variety of teachers, but they're all versed in the Bikram dialogue. Colleen, Heatherly, Marissa - whether you like the 60 minute express or if you brave the 90 minutes, they've got you covered and you'll leave sweaty and rejuvenated. The studio is well heated and there's plenty of space - I've felt amazing from the very first class! They have a ton of other heated and non-heated classes too which I'm excited to try (but I am a bit of a Bikram loyalist at the moment). Only critique would be that they don't provide towels or mats so you have to bring your own, and the shower situation isn't great - the bathroom is small so there's nowhere to comfortably get changed unless you're standing in the shower. I'm coming from Brooklyn where I'm used to towels and mats being provided and the showers being really great, but that's Brooklyn where no one has a car and everyone has to take the train after class, so it's different. I'm adjusting to the Long Island life, so this isn't turning into as much of a hassle as I thought it would be. Getting in my car sweaty isn't so bad so I've been showering at home after and it's fine! I love Ash Hot Yoga, the teachers, the other students, the atmosphere, the availability of classes, and the you-are-family, everyone-is-welcome-here vibes. I'm so glad I found them and can't wait for more.

It's her own personal space so there's no "gym-timidation" and she cleans the equipment between clients, which is great for obvious COVID-related reasons. She wears a mask during the session so that's just another precaution she takes to make you feel more comfortable. She asked me what, if any, injuries I had and took that into account when giving the exercises to do. She trains people of all ages and all sizes and all fitness abilities. I had abdominal surgery and needed to wait until I was cleared by my doctor for heat and stretching. About 6 weeks post-opp I was cleared and was open with the instructors about my healing process. They were so understanding and knowledgeable and helped me with alternatives to not over stress my healing areas. I have seen improvement in my flexibility and have been managing my stress level tremendously. I my healing journey has significantly improved after taking classes here. The studio is well maintained and cleaning. They provide showers for use after classes as needed. They also provide loaner mats in case you don't have or forget to bring your own.

It's cleaned constantly and they're always updating with new machines. Plenty of free weights with dumbbells hitting 120 if needed. Staff is super friendly as well is the normal crowd. Plenty of parking and it's priced right. Downside...from about 5-7 most weeknights it gets pretty busy.
