COACH CHANDO: 1)…read moreOBSERVANT - In the 2 days (90 minutes combined) I had visited the training center, he seemed to know everything about me just by the way I was training with him. Keep in mind that there are other students in the class, but he notices every detail about his students, the breath we take per move/reps (even with masks on), 2) PROFESSIONAL & COMMUNICATIVE - With his keen observation skills, he's quick to correct posture or can tell if we've trained before (I say he's psychic), he also has the ability to tell how we carry our backpacks/or handbags and if they are heavy or not, he will know based on our posture if we are the type who have sedimentary jobs or not and advises on how to autocorrect form. I do value the fact as we work out, he tells us where we should be feeling the burn and why and which part of the body we are working. 3) FRIENDLY & WARM/INTERPERSONAL SKILLS - he doesn't intimidate and he can easily make quick connections to build rapport and trust so as we are working out, he empowers us with confidence we need to push ourselves. He intuitively knows our personal limit as to when we need to be pushed hard and when we need to slow it down. F45 PLAINVIEW 1) I've been to many gyms and worked out with many trainers, but i do enjoy the F45 concept, 45 minutes your in and your out with a sweat. This is a great concept for those individuals who lack discipline in a gym environment. 2) Days are scheduled based on what the functional exercises and which area of the body you will be working (core, upper, lower, cardio, etc). 3) The camaraderie you gain when you attend. I only attended 2 sessions and the members welcomed me with open arms and thumbs up support in a few of the exercises I failed at. We all have a common objective in mind and its just getting through the 45 minutes is where we bond at... then its a great feeling when you see them again the very next day. If i could choose to be a member at F45 Plainview, I definitely would. But i'll need to find another F45 (and a Coach Chando) in PNW area. THANK YOU F45 PLAINVIEW & COACH CHANDO! Hoping i can come back and visit again soon!

Short version of my review: Just do it. Peak180 has truly…read morecaptivated my heart. Go on their site, call them, and check them out! Oh, and bring water! Work out, leave feeling like this is your new happy place! Long version - Please continue reading: First of all, this is my second time trying CrossFit (2018) after being really inspired by one of my girlfriend's facebook story/posts. She's amazing!!! I stayed away from CrossFit because I didn't think it was a good match for me. I decided to give it another shot after speaking to her. Cleanliness: I'm a clean freak. I'm neurotic. I know, I'm crazy but hey! It's the pandemic. This gym is super clean and their bathroom is super clean (yes, I checked and I approve of how clean it is). There are a few lockers in there which I haven't used. I just put my stuff against the wall and wait for the fun class to begin. After the equipments are used, each members wipe it down with Saniwipes (yes, I checked this as well). All the barbells, dumbbells, kettlebells, jump rope, rowing machine, bike, etc EVERYTHING is cleaned after use! I love it! Staff: I've only took classes lead by these Coaches: James, Mike, Jesse. This review is based off of them. I always ask questions. Sometimes, questions bother people and they get annoyed. These three coaches are amazing! They're super friendly and was answering all of the questions that I have. They're super friendly and very motivating. Any injuries you may have, please speak to them! They were able to modify certain workouts for me and really paid attention to my form (along with the others). You could see the passion in them when they speak about the workouts. They explain every workout, movement, and form. They go over this before it starts. Class: You will sweat. Your hearts going to pound. HARD! Your heart's going to feel like it's about to pop out of your mouth. Okay, okay..That's IF you're unhealthy like me and it's been years since you've worked out. Everyone works out really hard and are super motivational! You will be sore for the next 3 days! After 3 classes, I felt healthier, had more stamina, was able to shovel snow without a problem (no, really...). I seriously had WAYYYYY more energy than expected and of course, I was in good spirits! Exercise really makes a difference in your mood and I will proudly say Peak180 is now my new happy place! Oh! I need to mention... they have whiteboards! So if you have a lot on your mind like me, grab one. Write down what you need to do. It'll make your life easier when your brain decides to sleep as you tear your muscle fibers. Members: A bunch of amazing people! They're welcoming, friendly, and a bunch of beasts! Watching them work out as I did really kept me going. I didn't want to give up even though my body felt like jello. Parking: There's PLENTY of parking in the back. Work out, grab some coffee at Mongo's afterwards (if they're still open) Location: Enter the lot, drive all the way to the back, make a left and you'll see this wonderful place! For those who have stuck around til the end to read my review, thank you! Peak180 has gained a new loyal member. Thanks, everyone! I'm excited and will be updating this review as time goes by. Just do it. Just stop by and take a class. DO NOT FORGET THAT WATER!!! Before, during, and after so your muscles will thank you.

Great gym with an even better staff. Friendly and informative ... great for beginners looking to…read morechange their life style

Possibly the nicest front desk/SA's in all of the land. They do a wonderful job of making you feel…read morewelcome here. Great class schedule, consistently good attendance, coaches with a great following. One of my favorite Long Island Orange Theory locations. The layout of this studio is spacious. (I miss the 45 minute template offered here but I am not complaining, if you see this please add it back though) Huge parking lot out front.

I saw two friends post on their social media about going to Orangetheory locations in Queens and…read morewhen I saw this one open up, I decided to check it out. For the past couple of months, I've felt that I needed to better my health and my horrendous stamina and since you're allowed to try your first class for free, I was like, why not? I've tried doing those "at-home workouts" and failed miserably because I would just be lazy and say "I'll do the workout tomorrow" which would drag on and on...until a year passed. Oops. By the way, I am NOT a gym person. For me, I find going to the gym boring, redundant and I also have no motivation. I prefer more of a hiking or dancing salsa as a way of "working out". The thing I liked about OTF (Orangetheory Fitness) is that even though you're in a group, you still have a coach telling you what to work on as a group and will help you individually with your form throughout. You work at your own pace because you know what your body can handle. During the class, your monitor will sync to the screen above and you can see how you're doing. So far I have taken 3 classes (the first one being the free trial class) with Craig and Ariana and they have both been great coaches! Each class I took had probably a rough estimate of 15-20 people (different ages, different body types). You're also not doing the same set of exercises every class, they change it up. Even though 60 minutes seems like a long time, the hour will fly by because you're constantly doing something/rotating on the different machines/weights area. I started with the 8 classes/month package ($119) since I'm a newbie and so far that seems to work well with 2 classes a week with time to rest my muscles in between. They have an app you can download (they will walk you through it if you need help) and see your stats (they email this to you also) as well as sign up for classes right in the app which is very convenient. The front desk staff have always been very nice and helpful. There are lockers for you to put your stuff in while you're in class and they have showers (I think 2?) and bathrooms (I think 2?). There is a water fountain in the front and in the back (where class is) for you to fill up your water bottle. It's conveniently located and there is always parking. So if you're on the fence, sign up for the free class and see how it is! P.S. I realized when I signed up for the package/classes that you need to purchase the OTbeat Burn monitor that goes on your arm and I thought that was a little costly (I think it was $109?) but you do get to keep it. Not sure if you can rent them but I think I read somewhere that it costs $5-$10 each time so if you're taking a few classes, might as well just purchase the monitor.
