I'm a Texas native and after living in California the past 30 years, I moved back to Texas and was looking forward to exercising my 2nd Amendment rights. I visited Troy, the owner, and told him I was looking to purchase my 1st handgun. He spent a lot of time with me and we must have looked at 8 or 9 different models, going over the pros and cons of each one, trying to find one that I really liked. He's extremely knowledgeable and answered all my questions. After further research on my own and from what I learned from Troy, I ended up going with a Glock 19 Gen 4. I returned to Crosshairs, Texas and received a great deal on a brand new Glock 19. Troy spent a good amount of time with me going over field stripping and cleaning, extra magazines, holsters and lots more. He provided suggestions on ammo and was very helpful in recommending a CHL Instructor in my neighborhood. I returned several times with more questions and after about 2000 rounds of practice asked Troy about getting some trigger work done. He is a certified Glock Armorer and did the work for me in two days. The trigger job was fantastic. He spent a lot of time going over the inner workings of the Glock and demonstrating everything from the safety, firing pin spring, ejector etc etc. After more practice I returned with more questions and he's always been quite helpful. Bottom line, if you're looking for a good dealer for sales but also want a dealer who is going to be there to provide follow-up customer service and support, and you are anywhere near Bastrop, TX, you need to make a visit to Crosshairs. All the employees have been extremely helpful whether I was buying or just asking questions. I also recently used Crosshairs FFL service to transfer an old Krag to my nephew in Oregon. The price was less than it would have cost me to ship it (if I could have legally). I have since learned that Troy started his business from his kitchen table then from a tiny out-building on his property and then from a small store in town, then a larger store in town and has now moved into a new building at 1102 College Street in Bastrop with enough room that he will soon have an indoor range. Businesses do not grow like that unless they are doing something right. There is a lot more to this gun shop than just a beautiful selection of the best firearms and ammunition available. I could spend hours telling you about the owners and their knowledge, or their great attitudes or even the way they make you feel at home. I'm proud to say that these people are family in a way. I bought my first firearm here, from Devon and Troy, In 2011. Its 2019 and I have several more firearms and as of today even added another to the collection. Because of Devon and Troy I'm able to sleep soundly knowing my family and I are safe. Not only because we are protected by the guns, but we are protected with the knowledge and ability to control and act on situations that require certain safety measures to take place. Oh man, where to start! It was my wife and I first time coming here. Had heard about it plenty, but first time checking it out. We were greeted by Troy immediately and made to feel comfortable and even shared some laughs! As we were talking about ordering procedures and some of the new stock that had just arrived, a group of 4 young men walked in and immediately brought in the smell of weed...and I mean HEAVY smell! Without missing a beat, one of the other guys behind the counter spoke up. In a friendly tone and asked "okay guys, who just smoked?" They all froze like a deer in the headlights! It was the funniest thing ever! "C'mon guys...we appreciate your business but we can't have that in here" they all responded politely saying they understand and just walked out. Probably one of the nicest interactions I've ever seen of someone getting kicked out of a store. Major props to these guys and a hell of a first impression! I went in some month back bought a 22lr pistol. Couple of older women there then they treated me like an idiot. I wanted the pistol. Went back in 2days ago there was a blonde at the counter. Ask for a pee wee rifle for my grandchildren. They did not have one there was someone else saddle gun knew but had to try. She offers up some Keltec thing. But, you see gun shops are full pretend swat people now, most of them like black plastic things. Wood metal and even revolvers still have there place. Just like the Customer is always right. Just because I got off a horse that day after chasing cattle in the rain and was looking a wild. Don't make me stupid. Over 50 of guns 20 in Army Tanks Infantry Scouts Mortars with side trips. Then years before and afterward around teaching small arms tactics. I've dealt with crosshairs Texas a lot over the years we made some good friendships we have learned a lot of Knowledge from each other there's always an opportunity to learn. They may not be as cheap as a cookie cutter Box Store but the information they are able to share more than makes up for it remember these guys are shooters and hunters like. And if your looking for something special that the box store just doesn't carry this if the right place to go they have a great used section of firearms and if something doesn't catch your eyes they will search for what dose they will check availability confirm the price with you then get it ordered and ready to pick up at the store in the most timely manner possible often with in the week. I took the LTC course here and it was so awesome! I learned so much, they go above and beyond with everything they do! Devon was hilarious but also very informative. She took her time with all of us, answered all of our questions and i couldnt be more prepared to carry. She spent 12 hours with us and went through all of the laws, made the class super fun and then took us out to a shooting range her and her husband built with their own hands and taught us everything we needed to know with live fire. I went into Crosshairs on a Friday just before noon to pick up a shotgun I had transferred through them. There were about 5-6 other guys in there waiting to be served. Troy, the owner, was working by himself. He took care of each of us in turn and with efficiency and professionalism. I had to wait about 30 minutes but didn't mind at all because I got to do a little shopping. I picked up a pair of really cool shooting/sunglasses and checked out some handgun laser lights for my M&P 380 I had purchased from there s few weeks earlier. When it was my turn, I told Troy why I was there, he gave me the transfer form to fill out, I paid the transfer fee and I was done. A very pleasant experience as always. read more

Not your average gun store. Both my father and I got our Texas LTC through Crosshairs training course, and I have bought several firearms from and through them as an FFL. They can put quotes together on special orders, and have had very quick turn-around on my orders. This place is about as family friendly as a gun store can be. Very kind and knowledgeable staff, gun parts, accessories, lots of ammunition to select from, used guns, and a load of new ones. I've been to some of their competition and the closest one had a palpable "boogaloo" vibe that really turned me off. The Crosshairs staff always have a smile and great attitude. I travel by this place on my way to Kyle Texas hunting I decided to stop in to see what kind of place this was. Well believe me they went overboard to be kind and helpful with myself and my hunting coworker. It was just a great experience . They created an account for me in case I want to order anything from Houston where i live. Being a small town operation they made us fell like long time customers. I was VERY IMPRESSED with their honest answers and help with this VERY NEW gun owner. In fact, I had a question about a shotgun that I had purchased ELSEWHERE. They COULD have given me a line to let them work on the shotgun, but they honestly checked out the shotgun and told me that it was in good shape and didn't need to buy a new spring. I was ASTOUNDED! I really can't recommend Crosshairs enough. I went in for a simple service of removing my A2 birdcage from my AR and not only was the service super fast(literally 30 seconds), but Justin and his co-workers were also super knowledgeable. Prices are more than reasonable on everything I checked out whether it be firearms, ammo, or gunsmithing services. You can tell everyone there is passionate about what they do, and that they are die-hard and gun guys/gals. Troy found the best prices for me, ordered the firearm and all else needed, got all in quickly, and without me asking, he had installed the rail mount and Crimson Trace laser, and had also sighted in the firearm! Crosshairs is the most informative & friendly Gun shop I have ever stepped foot in. I ventured into their shop, desiring to peruse a few guns before buying one. The gentleman behind the counter encouraged me to hold several hand guns in order to find one I liked. When I told him it would be my first firearm he took the time to explain some of the basics & put me in touch with a concealed carry instructor, advising me to first become comfortable with the firearm prior to enrolling in a class.
