I hired Nurses with Heart to…read morecare for her, so I knew she would have someone constantly with her to feed, bathe, clothe, and take care of all her needs. She was in her 90's, and had dementia. Not only was Nurses with Heart there to make sure she lived her best life during her final years, they were there until the end, and I do mean end. I got the call at 3am in the morning that my friend had passed. Not only did the owner of Nurses with Heart meet me there, she let her caregiver go home, and stayed with me until the funeral home assistants arrived. Carolyn Moore the owner, myself, and the two funeral assistants carried my friend down to the stretcher because the elevator to her apartment in the assisted living facility was too small to accomodate the stretcher. No one at the assisted living facility could be found to help. It was quite a journey, believe me from beginning to end, and Carolyn was there all the way. If you are looking for a company that truly cares, has compassion, great caregivers, and does exactly what they say they will do, you will want Nurses with Heart to care for your loved ones. Carolyn and co-owner Alise are fantastic! Santa Fe and Los Alamos are fortunate to have them in their communities.

Instead, their billings ranged from $1800 - $4800 every two weeks - just for medical power of attorney work!. I would estimate their billings for a little over two years, mostly just for faxing medical records, at about $100,000-$150,000. My mom's trustee couldn't risk a lawsuit so these bills got paid. And since the paperwork nominated Decades for conservator it was pretty much impossible to fire them. So the nightmare continued until my mom moved into an assisted living facility - a move Decades opposed. My advice would be to not hire these guys. But if you do, put in writing how much they are authorized to bill and include a remedy if they exceed that amount. A criminal background check for staff and supervisors is probably a good idea too.

My elderly father has been living alone for the past eight years since my mother passed away. All…read moreof us, his three adult children live out of town. The assistance provided by all the staff at the Care Management Group has allowed him to remain in Albuquerque, in his home, as he wishes. The assistance supplied by the Care Management staff has ranged from initially assessing his needs, making home safety recommendations, regular check up visits, referrals to doctors & home healthcare aide providers. As he has aged, their assistance has increased to making and taking him to doctor appointments, helping with bill paying, coordinating the aide schedule and making sure that nothing falls through the cracks. In addition & most importantly they have met him at the the hospital the several times he was taken there due to health emergencies. They contacted us, coordinated with the doctors and stayed at his side until one of us ( the children) could to Albuquerque. Then upon his release they coordinated his return home & whatever services he needed. The entire staff goes beyond what is expected and their rates for their services are very fair and the same as the other similar agencies I interviewed. Without their help, our father would not have been able to age in place as he desired.

Or if I needed to come home. Since I was not able to jump on a plane and come home easily, it was a comfort to know when it was necessary to do so and when it wasn't. Having Egis on our side was like having reliable family members to be there with my Mother, when I couldn't. I truly felt she was getting the best professional home care possible from truly caring humans and not just another institution. I hope, if I am in Santa Fe again and need care, to have the ethical & professional care that Egis can provide.

Very strange business…read more Representative attempts to present herself as a professional, but lacks follow through. Come to your house to do walk through and introduce herself. Asks for square footage and your email. Tells you that a proposal will be sent next day. Nothing arrives, so you text and resend email so you limit margin of error. A week goes by, nothing. Now into second week, still nothing ... Obviously a little girl trying to look like a professional business person, but has no follow through capability. At the very least, she needed to follow through and say they had too many booking or we just don't want to clean your house. Very impolite and unprofessional to not formally respond in any fashion. Leaves you wondering why she wanted to see your house.

I had moved him from the Genesis facility at Bear Canyon where they neglected and abused him for the 2 months that he was there. We had to pay out of pocket for him to be at Beehive but it was worth it to get him out of a terrible situation in Abq. Based on my experience at Edgewood Beehive, I would definitely recommend them. The rooms are spacious and quiet. It is very homey and peaceful there. The only complaint I have is that the VA will not pay for care. (that is not the fault of Beehive homes.) I'm not sure if they accept Medicare or Medicaid now. I hope they do because it is a valuable service to have here in Edgewood.
