He is willing to work through prices with you to make sure your pet gets the care they need and won't push any expensive treatments on you. Every single time I've called for an "emergency" visit from my pet eating something they shouldn't have to a small cut that looks off, they always squeeze us in that day. There are no words to express the gratitude we have for the amazing staff at Crossroads for saving our 1 and 1/2 year old French Bulldog, Tucker. Tucker had his yearly shots in the morning on 3/16. In late afternoon we noticed he was having trouble breathing and his face was swollen. After a short time it looked like he might only have a few breathes left. This was devastating to watch. I was helpless and didn't know what to do. As his breathing grew more labored we threw on our shoes, grabbed Tucker, and called Crossroads to share we would be there in a few minutes, hoping they might know how to help Tucker. When we arrived they were ready for us. The doctor knew exactly what to do. The girls that were either office help, vet techs, or both all pitched in to help soothe Tucker and show us how to comfort him. The photos are of what he looked like before an after. The middle photo is when he was swollen his face and throat was closing up so he couldn't breath. I am so thankful they acted quickly and saved our sweet boy. Thank you Crossroads staff! My dog was a patient, and when I noticed he wasn't acting right, I brought him to see the doctor. He did x-rays and blood work and gave me an antibiotic and carprofen. He told me everything looked good, except he had beginning stages of KD, but he wasn't worried about it. I treated him as directed, but then he stopped eating and was pooping blood, so I brought him back, and he said he to stop the carprofen, which I had done already. My dog was getting sicker,and all he did was shoot him with an anti-nausea and diarrhea injection, then gave him a shot in his back end that hurt him. We had to liquid feed him, and he never bothered to recheck his blood and sent me home with a sick dog. 48 hrs later, my dog declined so fast that I wound up taking him emergency and when they did the blood work, my dog was in end stage KD, and there was nothing else to be done and I lost him on April 23rd. My dog suffered 2 weeks longer than needed because the doc didn't do his due diligence after I told him more than once he was sick and not getting better. My family didn't just lose a pet. We lost our hearts. So, don't bring your fur baby there if you love your pet. As a side note, I sent a message to the doctor expressing my feelings about what happened, and he didn't even bother to reach out. read more

I took my 6 month old cat for a simple neuter where the doctor refused to give me a cone and said "nobody wants that." When I offered a surgical suit instead. When I picked him up he was bleeding and they aggressively stuck gauze in his scrotum as he screamed like never before. They told me the bleeding was normal after questioning several times before I left and calling even after I left. They told me to trust them as they were the professionals. Not to mention he was only observed for 4 hours under anesthesia instead of the appropriate time. By that night he was bleeding out all over my room and had to undergo a lifesaving surgery under little anesthesia because he couldn't under go it again, will never be able to make this up to my now currently depressed and motionless cat read more

Check ups, surgery no problem! I have recommended him to many. He gets 5 stars Now onto the groomer, I am very disappointed with. My female cat is long haired and was matted. So I had her sedated and groomed. I swear they must have a 6 year old doing the grooming. She looks hideous. Half her mane is missing, she was covered in loose hair, you can see the clipper marks, the cut itself is uneven. I will take my animals to the vet but will take my grooming business elsewhere. I have been going here for 10 years now and have always found the staff to be caring, accommodating and professional. They understand pets really are family members, and have treated both cats and dogs for me. I have a pug and pugs require special care for most things, Dr. Beri is great with him. Even vaccines can be deadly for pugs, so Dr. Beri always gives him Benedril before shots to prevent issues. (In the past, another vet didn't listen to my concerns about vaccinations and almost killed my best buddy.) My Dachshund also receives wonderful care, she's 15, so she has some age related health issues. We visit the vet fairly regularly. Sadly, last week I had to say good-bye to two family members and have my cats put to sleep. Both were 18 and had lived very long, happy lives. It was a difficult yet, necessary decision. Dr. Beri was so compassionate throughout the process. His staff was as well. A few days later, I received a sympathy card in the mail, hand-signed by each staff member with personal notes. They even took ink paw prints of my cats paws and stamped them on the inside of the card. I was very touched and now have a lasting memento of my cats. I am writing this post on behalf of my sister Mary Jo Cronin. She adopted a cat on 2/27 at the Will County Humane Society. They required a 6 day background check on human but we wish they would have done the same on the cat. They provided a free visit. The cat had a slight fever and was taken Crossroads Animal Hospital on Caton Farm Road on 3/2. They inspected the cat and they gave a shot. The vet never opened the cats mouth. On 3/19 exam, the cat was taken to a clinic closer to home. Dr Jenny Kuhn at Mokena Animal Clinic reported that the cat had already lost 5 teeth and recommended extraction of 17 more. Surgery was performed on 4/9. We are grateful that Dr Jenny Kuhn intervened for the sweet cat. We are also grateful that they only charged $400 to extract all of the infected teeth. But the process prior to her was less than humane or compassionate. We hope this story encourages the Will County Humane Society to watch who they partner with for care of the animals they are trying to protect. If Mary Jo had not persisted, the cat could have died from the infected teeth. As a new cat owner, she didn't think to try check teeth and gums. read more

I've been bringing my dogs for 15 years and the doctor and his wife are very kind and friendly. The prices are good. The Doctor has been very helpful when my pets had any sort of health issues. Top quality procedures and advice. My dog is afraid of the groomer though. I think it's time for that woman to retire. She got too close to my dog's eyes on the last visit and now my dog is terrified to be left there. If there was a way to just rate the groomer, I would prefer to do that. 5 stars for the Doctor. Dr. Beri was much more thorough in his testing than the vets at the luxurious, beautiful office that is close to our home. Dr. Beri even conferred with a specialist on our behalf and called us with the details of that conversation. In the end, none of it was good news, but Dr. Beri is the one whose opinion I actually trusted. His offices are clean, and his rates are extremely reasonable. This clinic is a husband and wife operation. We have gone a few times and generally was okay with the services. Of late, it seems that greed has taken a front seat where costs far exceeds other clinics. There are countless, qualified animal clinics available, so shop around. this pet hospital/veterinarian is AMAZING!! about a year & a half ago, my chihuahua/rat terrier Loki had 2 grand mal seizures within a 12 hr time span that lasted over 10min each! Crossroads was the closest place to us & even though we had never been there before with our pets, when we called & told them what was going on they said to bring Loki in immediately & they saved my fur baby! we didn't have the money to pay them at the time, but they worked out a payment plan with us & even gave us enough medication for a month (turns out Loki has a seizure disorder that will require meds the rest of his life)..I know take both my furbabies (we rescued another chihuahua mix) to Crossroads & will never go to another veterinarian! read more

This business looked at my dog very quickly, ultimately I think he sprained his knee but I first suspected an ACL tear. I had to go to work the morning this happened but I called the office during my lunch and they agreed to see him in the afternoon. The vet couldn't diagnose much at the time (too late in the day for X-rays and he wasn't sure anything would be visible so quickly after the injury) but he sent me out with doggie ibuprofen and after a week the limp was gone.
