This hospital did NOTHING but TRAUMATIZE her. From letting her be in labor for 44 hours, to trying to take a balloon out of her cervix while it was still inflated, to leaving urine in the bathroom for 12+ hours, and then when asked about checking it for protein (because she was induced for preeclampsia) being EXTREMELY rude. Two failed epidurals, knowing that she is small down there and delivering a BIG baby and letting her rip instead of giving her an episiotomy. DROPPING THE TOOLS to stitch her up and picking them up and using them anyway. Forcing her to basically deliver her baby alone because they didnt want to listen to her when she had to push. Forcing medications on her she didn't want. (Fentanyl and lidocaine). Giving her a DIRTY breastpump to use to pump milk for her son, with the wrong size flange causing her to get blisters on her boobs. Never listening to her concerns and half handed answering her questions. To telling her that her baby would DIE if she took him home because he was not wanting to take FORMULA when my daughter specifically said she wanted to EXCLUSIVELY breastfeed. When my daughter told them she wanted to leave, they tried making her leave her son there. She also told them before giving birth that she wanted to keep her placenta. Upon discharge, it was not given to her. Last, but DEFINITELY not least, after my daughter and grandson were discharged, my daughter asked me to call about her placenta and my grandsons scheduled doctor's visit. The nurse, without hesitation, discussed both things with me, without verifying who I was. Had she been thorough and doing her job correctly, she would have checked the chart and saw that I was not listed as my daughters emergency contact.....but that would have required her to ask who I was in the first place. No new mother should go through this much pain and be treated as terrible as my child was. No new mom should go home and be TERRIFIED to sleep because the nurses want to tell her that her baby is going to die because of not wanting to eat formula. Being a new mom is hard enough. And to TRAUMATIZE your patients.....???? Run away from this place and DO NOT look back. The labor and delivery nurses are clearly only here for a paycheck. Their bedside manners are horrific, with the exception of two or three. Also, 44 hours without food is crazy to do to someone about to go through the hardest physical experience in their life. Please do not deliver your babies here. You and your babies deserve to be safe, healthy, heard and respected.......and it WILL NOT happen here!​​

The tech there was very nice. Doctor came in, asked a few questions, left. Nurse came in, hooked up IV antibiotics (did not know, although I told him and the dr, that I had an allergy to certain antibiotics ) and gave me iv pain med and iv steroids. Pain med did nothing, I'm diabetic, steroids VERY bad for blood sugar. Dr said I had a sinus infection, even though I had not one symptom. He said weakness and such probably caused by a migraine. I've had migraines in the past and this was not that. He wrote me 2 scripts; one for steroids, one for antibiotics. I asked for a script for med to prevent yeast infections. I get one every time I take antibiotics. He refused. My blood pressure was elevated while in the ambulance. I was not on a monitor while in the ER. I did not have a call light. No one checked on me while the mess were infusing, in case I had a bad reaction. To call this hell hole a hospital is a joke. You'd be better off going to the local shaman or witch doctor!

Literally every person that I dealt with, from wheeling me around, to CT, MRI, ECHO CARDIO, SONOGRAPHY, TO PT, OT, SPEECH PATHOLOGY...TO DIETICIAN, TO FOOD SERVICE, housekeeping. The nursing staff, and Drs and all of this team, are amazing. They genuinely care about those of us in life and death situations and needs. ER staff was also first rate and impressive as well. Thank you with all of my Heart.. I have truly been blessed by God to be alive and doing well right now....from start to finish, about 30 hours total, I was admitted, and discharged and home now with my daughter this evening, doing great. Almost every single person I met in the er was insanely unprofessional and unpleasant to be around…read more I came in an ambulance after a pretty bad car accident but my friend definitely had it worse than me, I was shown to my room by a male nurse who then promptly stuck his head out the door and yelled "can I have the other one?" My friend was covered head to toe in blood and I had to advocate (being a patient myself!!) for her to get a hospital gown. Friend had to get 5 stitches in her forehead, also had to ask at least 5 times for something for the pain, they finally brought her an ibuprofen. The minute I got to my room I was brought a cup to pee in and a Sheriff was in my room. Both my friend and I were almost immediately covered in nasty bruises, I had some burn marks as well. Nobody checked our bruises or anything on us. Everyone seemed very inconvenienced that we needed medical attention. We each got a ct scan and nothing else. I absolutely had whiplash possibly a mild concussion as well. If you are at all able stay away from this hospital.

She came in yelling what do you want to do without giving us any options. I feel for her if something happened that caused her mood to be that horrible but she should have went home or something because there's no excuse to treat people the way she treated us. We didn't say anyhting to her except we didn't want testing and she got hostile and threatened to put it in my daughters chart so other providers would know. We didn't feel safe so we didn't want to tell her we were going to go elsewhere for tests. It was absolutely horrible and scary. I would never ever recommend her to anyone.

I had plenty of supportive nursing staff and anesthesia staff. Everybody was kind and accommodating. The check-in status was smooth. The guy that checked me in was very friendly and funny for outpatient services. You park in the main entrance area unless you have somebody driving you and you'll check in at the gray outpatient building parking. There was plenty as we were there at 5:30 AM. My surgery started at eight so bear in mind as far as surgery times we're also known as arrival times that will depend on parking as well as any additional waiting time for the check-in process.

Went to the hospital to have a MRI done on 8/20/26 based on the advise of my primary doctor there…read moreat the Sparta Clinic. Go there and get the procedure done which cost me $1000 out of pocket to get done. Complete the procedure which was fine then the hospital tells me that I have to go to see a specialist the following week in Shiloh Illinois which is an hour and fifteen minutes from home. That gets scheduled on the 28th (8 days later). The 28th comes and we take off work and start our hour fifteen drive, we get there and after waiting 45 minutes to see the specialist they inform me that the hospital has still not read the MRI. At this point we call the hospital and leave a message for AARON to ask why the MRI has not been read. At that point AARON got the message and marked the MRI stat 10 minutes after he listens to the message. At this point the MRI got read but AARON didn't even call us back to let us know he was getting it read and then left early at noon because it was Friday and he needed a jump on his weekend. Now at this point we waited and have been turned away from the Shiloh office because there is nothing to discuss without the MRI being read. When we get home we realize that now the MRI was read but now they can't get us in for an appointment. Now the kicker is I am in the process of switching employment so now I have paid $1000 for a test that they refused to read and made me an appointment knowing it needed to be read by the 28th and then after leaving a message about it not even calling us back is just unbelievable and then to find out you left early so you could start your weekend is even more frustrating. I can't believe that this type of practice is acceptable to this hospital. We have called and complained with no response and no action. I would say if you value you or your family's health stay clear of this place. They check the box to take your money and bill your insurance just fine but dont expect anything other than that from Sparta Hospital. My nephew was given meds for a swollen ankle. The proper test weren't done and trays the symptoms worsened he went to Mercy Health in Paducah_KY. They investigated further and had him airlifted to St. Louis University where he was scheduled for immediate surgery. My mom was told she had fluid on the lungs that required immediate removal. The day of the procedure to remove fluid we learned from the technician that did a last minute scan mom didn't need the procedure she had less than a trace. Had she had the procedure it could have punctured her lungs. Another family friend's treatment was delayed which contributed to his death. There are no check and balances. It's evident that everyone is treated as if they are the same model car. A assembly line of nameless people whom they have no attachment and just trying to get in and out as soon as possible regardless of seriousness or lack of the condition. Overall the organization structure is disorganized and accountability is lacking. There are a few dedicated, seasoned, compassionate and skilled professionals but it's hard pressed to find them. Zero rating! It's disheartening to know this is a college town with a insufficient medical facility.
