My experience BY FAR, was the best I've ever had, which has been many! The nurses were very knowledgeable and kind, through my entire hospital stay. I will be having additional surgeries on my fingers, and feel very comfortable using Heartland Regional Hospital in Marion, IL In addition, other patients need to take a lot more into consideration when going to the ER, & Hospital for surgery or testing. Issues arise and nothing is "for sure". Also, patience is a virtue and the same hospitality & respect will be given to you when you're seen!!

My nephew was given meds for a swollen ankle. The proper test weren't done and trays the symptoms worsened he went to Mercy Health in Paducah_KY. They investigated further and had him airlifted to St. Louis University where he was scheduled for immediate surgery. My mom was told she had fluid on the lungs that required immediate removal. The day of the procedure to remove fluid we learned from the technician that did a last minute scan mom didn't need the procedure she had less than a trace. Had she had the procedure it could have punctured her lungs. Another family friend's treatment was delayed which contributed to his death. There are no check and balances. It's evident that everyone is treated as if they are the same model car. A assembly line of nameless people whom they have no attachment and just trying to get in and out as soon as possible regardless of seriousness or lack of the condition. Overall the organization structure is disorganized and accountability is lacking. There are a few dedicated, seasoned, compassionate and skilled professionals but it's hard pressed to find them. Zero rating! It's disheartening to know this is a college town with a insufficient medical facility.

They had hand sanitizer at every entrance. I checked in right away. The staff was super friendly. I was called into a room immediately. The LPN was very polite and professional. He took my vitals, listened to my concerns and just as he was finishing up, the NURSE PRACTITIONER, Nikki came in. She reviewed my chart, asked questions, looked at me and addresses all my concerns. She was extremely friendly and professional. She gave me prescriptions and I was on my way. Very clean. Extremely friendly and personally staff. Quick service. Nurse practitioner Amanda Schmitt is the absolute worst physician I have ever met…read more I would never recommend her to anyone. She is angry and rude. She came in yelling what do you want to do without giving us any options. I feel for her if something happened that caused her mood to be that horrible but she should have went home or something because there's no excuse to treat people the way she treated us. We didn't say anyhting to her except we didn't want testing and she got hostile and threatened to put it in my daughters chart so other providers would know. We didn't feel safe so we didn't want to tell her we were going to go elsewhere for tests. It was absolutely horrible and scary. I would never ever recommend her to anyone.

I had plenty of supportive nursing staff and anesthesia staff. Everybody was kind and accommodating. The check-in status was smooth. The guy that checked me in was very friendly and funny for outpatient services. You park in the main entrance area unless you have somebody driving you and you'll check in at the gray outpatient building parking. There was plenty as we were there at 5:30 AM. My surgery started at eight so bear in mind as far as surgery times we're also known as arrival times that will depend on parking as well as any additional waiting time for the check-in process.
