For some reason my husbands review is not listed so I will leave my review. I got the 3 stars because I averaged my experience here. Kaitlin in the ER would give this hospital negative stars if possible, but the people I encountered after her mostly deserved 5 starts. I will start with I am from another state and going to the ER is the last thing you want to do on vacation. But, it could not be avoided. I had to go to the ER September 6th around 1:30 AM. I woke up and felt funny. I went to Walmart and bought a wrist BP checker and my BP and it was 207 over 113. Kaitlin in the ER kept telling me I need to calm down and twice tried to get an IV in. Kaitlin then after the 2nd fail because I let out a scream she said "that's it, they're going to have to try in the back" she saw the state I was in, she should have sent me in the back if she can't handle people with a more professional sympathetic approach. If I lived nearby I would never go to this ER ever again and Kaitlin needs better training with people. You're in the ER, not the coffee shop. You don't get happy calm people. I hope management sees this and re trains her or at least moves her to a position that does not require patience. Once in the back there was a 2nd girl (I don't remember her name, I told her she had pretty hair - I was hoping that compliments would make them nice lol. She was nice but also unable to get my IV in. In comes the blond girl (5 stars to her) she saw how freaked out I was, gave me a sedative (Adavan or Addarol I think) and she waited a few minutes before trying again (with success) She even said that she was technically off duty but offered to get my IV in. I'm sorry the only name that stuck with me with Kaitlyn's but the blond girl was off duty and went out of her way to help me and my wife , the Dr's, nurses and everyone we saw after Kaitlin were all top notch and I thank you all. But Kaitlin really sets the tempo being the first face you see and she was extremely un pleasant.

This empty wheel chair can only be used by the MRI department oh how I wish either we had a "golden ticket" or they card for patients

I went there for blood tests the ER wasn't that busy. The staff was most gracious and kind. They were concerned about me.

I have had both wellness visits with Dr. Rybak and have used their IV infusions on multiple occasions. During each visit with Dr. Rybak, I was presented with options that would address whatever my health or wellness needs were. I never felt pressure to purchase anything on the spot, I left feeling well informed and confident that I would be able to follow up after having some time to consider my options. I had a relaxing experience with the IV infusion, the room is cozy and chairs are so comfortable. I will definitely be back for more. You review the labs with the provider on week two. Fine. A salesperson then comes in immediately after the provider leaves, and attempts to sell you a subscription into their $1,000/year club, which essentially gives you the privilege of getting your meds filled at your own pharmacy. The alternative is to pay jacked-up prices and buy your meds from the clinic. It's completely unethical to withhold pricing structure information like this to new patients , and ONLY revealing the final cost after they are already on the hook for $200 in labs and $100 clinic fees. It makes me wonder what other information they are withholding. I can't do business with a place like this.

Unfortunately, her stay was marked by disappointment and several eye-opening incidents. Upon admission, I was concerned that no transportation was provided, forcing me to transport my non-mobile wife myself from the hospital to The Rehabilitation Institute of Southern Illinois. We then experienced a significant delay in receiving assistance upon arrival at the facility, and I ultimately had to move my wife to her room myself to prevent exposure to freezing temperatures. The initial room assignment was also problematic, as a visibly and verbally upset individual appeared outside our room, disputing the placement of a bed. The head nurse intervened and resolved the issue. I was also alarmed to discover that it took 7 minutes and 22 seconds to receive assistance after pressing the call light. I immediately expressed my concerns to the nurse and negotiated an agreement to place a seizure rescue inhaler next to my wife's bed as a precautionary measure. I emphasized to the head nurse that patients with epilepsy are unlikely to self-administer medication during the initial phases of a seizure. The staff seemed uninformed about treating patients with epilepsy, citing a targeted response time of 5 minutes after a patient presses their call light. However, this is inadequate, as a seizure typically lasts between 30 seconds and 2 minutes, and a seizure lasting 5 minutes is considered a medical emergency. I was so concerned that I sent a letter to the CEO, highlighting the need for improved protocols, including the installation of video cameras in patient rooms to enable visual checks. I also suggested that the current response time is inadequate and potentially life-threatening. Unfortunately, I did not receive a response. Furthermore, the nurses' aids we encountered during Tiffany's stay were unprofessional and inexperienced. For example, when my wife requested to be moved to her chair to eat the morning meal, she was told 'no' in a flat and direct manner, and the aid promptly left the room, shutting the door forcably behind her. This behavior frightened my wife, who sent me the following desperate text: Please hurry please please! I cannot believe how I was just treated! I'm afraid PLEASE hurry Babe! When I arrived at the facility, the head nurse informed me that my wife was lying, as the aid denied the incident. The matter was essentially dismissed, with the only consequence being that the aid would not visit my wife's room again during her stay. In conclusion, while the facility is relatively new and in good condition, the staff seems divided, resulting in poor service. For instance, the facility did not have access to the seizure medications my wife was taking, forcing me to bring in the missing medications, which was a nightmare to get approved. True leadership is needed to address these issues, and if not addressed promptly, I fear that we may be reading about a tragedy instead of a remarkable recovery story.
