This location and staff feels miserable. I don't think they really have a idea for what to buy in - as in, what's the vibe of the store/what do you really sell or want to be known for? It's just like a huge overpriced Goodwill full of mainly overpriced trash. I have sold here and I have shopped here but selling here is also a terrible experience. The buyers are bored and cynical, unfriendly, act like you're at a fast food place. No respect for your items, generally cold. Buffalo Exchange is soo much better. The people are wonderful there. I came to the store for trading some of extra stuff here today. There was 15 min before the closing, and I even told them how it was hard to get there before 8pm, they did not even want to check my stuff. 2 cashier girls walked out before 8pm, and one ask to the manager to come and step in. The manager then said he would look at my stuff, then in the middle of it, he said he cannot look at them more by saying he needs to take the other customers who are purchasing stuff. It is horrible how they treat people who are trying to trade their stuff that at least it can eliminate some waste. They are with full of attitude. I arrived here at 11:30 and was told there would be an hour wait. It's now 2pm and I'm still waiting. While waiting, I saw the buyers just screwing around laughing and posing with the clothes. Talking about people's stuff casually and moving slow as a snail. If they weren't screwing around for 2.5 hours, maybe I would have been seen already. Way to waste people's day. Update: I was finally taken in at 2pm. I waited 3 hours for a measly 60 dollars. They have 3 registers but only 1 person working cashouts, causing an even longer delay. When I got to the front, the cashier told me I had $100 in cash and $60 in credit (it doesn't math since u usually get less cash). I asked and she was adamant she said it correctly the first time (she did not). When I was leaving, they were still telling sellers the wait was 1 hour with 12 people ahead of this one seller. I had 9 people ahead of me and waited 3 hours. How do they even do these estimates? Did that seller a favor and told her I waited 3 hours and to not waste her day. I have sold here several times during the pandemic when I was cleaning out my closet and they did buy many things. I do have to say they price items pretty low but in my case it may be fair since a lot of what I was selling was H&M/Zara stuff. As a customer, I like the low prices but as a seller not so much. The selling experience has always been pleasant here for me. In turn, I have also found a lot of things I was looking for like activewear. They do have a good selection of pants and activewear and some nice shirts. I don't ever like their dresses. Pre-COVID they used to have a lot more clothes but have limited racks now. The fitting rooms are closed and they have blocked all the mirrors with brown paper which does not make it easy to shop. This location is not "fashionable" but rather good to shop for more practicable, everyday clothes. read more

I am a male who wears L or XL. I have never purchased anything here but have sold. The process is simple and fair. I brought in about 25 items and they purchased 5 of them at a decent and fair price in my opinion. I asked why some items were not purchased and they told me some items were either too large or out of style which is reasonable. Website does state what kind of items they are looking for so use as a guide. Store is fairly sized and foot traffic is ok. The store highlights their nice items (usually European designers) and hangs them on the wall so you don't have to dig through which is helpful. I came in there and was using the fitting room when they were so mean right off the bat and I tried to be nice and respectful and then they literally laughed in my face and turned their back on me and then TALKED BEHIND MY BACK IN FRONT OF ME. Waited 45 minutes to trade/sell (1) hat I got at another thrift shop down the street, just days earlier, only to be told that the hat "is not branded" so it's no good for them. What kind of boujee trading company is this? Heavyset guy at the sell counter was really unhelpful-- when I first walked in I asked if the hat might be something they would take... so I wouldn't have to waste my time waiting. He couldn't provide a simple yes, no, or explain the "brands only" rule. Almost an hour later, the red haired female associate looked at it for 2 seconds and decided they didn't want it. Overall I had a pretty crappy experience at Crossroads. Shop looked like it had some pretty cool items, and I probably would've ended buying some stuff. It's a shame the customer service is sub par. Even just a sign informing sellers of the "brands only" policy would've been helpful. I am a weekly consignor for almost 10 yrs to the New York competitors (beacons, buffalo, etc). I checked out this location out today out of curiosity and to try mixing it up with a single bag of items (Lululemon, anthro, Trina Turk). I hadn't tried selling at this store in years and once again left disappointed and just overall annoyed. The buyers are extremely amateur and unhelpful. There is no point of view to the curation in the store. I understand every item you bring cannot be bought, however there is 0 communication as to what is being bought or why. The pricing is ALL over the place in the store. So, I hope this can help someone looking for a place to give new life to their clothes. Pro tip- Thred up, Poshmark, buffalo exchange, a dumpster, Craigslist free... anything would be better than this. I am conflicted! This store has good finds, but do they out weigh the bad? In particular there is heavyset gentlemen that works there and on multiple occasions has ignored me as i waited to be serviced. Is he just lazy or does he genuinely not see me? I was a little taken aback at how aloof and unfriendly the staff was here. 2/3 of the people I encountered really looked and acted like they didn't want to be there. The buyer, when I got there to drop off my clothes, didn't say hi or tell me about the check in system (they have an iPad to the side for that and it was my first time.) when they denied most of my clothes, she was like, "These just weren't a good fit or sellable STYLE wise." Lol burn. They also don't take back what they deny to sell for charity or donations. I've seen a few times piles of clothes in front or beside their store on the ground bc of this. In comparison Crossroads Trading in Brooklyn surpassed Buffalo in customer service, quality clothing for sell, fair pricing for my designer clothes I sold (and surprisedly they were open to negotiating a fair price for my items) . The only negative is they typically have a long waiting period for customers seeking to selling their clothes. A pretty good first experience! I heard about this place from a good friend and decided to visit on a Saturday. Beware of the crowds! But overall it was a successful experience. Lots of new with tag items, good name brands, and trendy pieces. I appreciate that everything is organized by size, patterns/colors, and seasons. Made the entire store easy to navigate. I was in a bit of a pickle after a wardrobe and sandal malfunction. My cute little sandals just weren't built for thé amount of walking I had in Store. Enter yelp search function and this was thé closest business to me as my company was in a bit of a rush. Ended up with some cute little Rachel Zoé sandals that didnt list a size but fit my feet perfectly. Now I normally wouldnt purchase shoes from this type of shop but it was that or walk barefoot. So second hand shopping it was. I cant complain after having paid less than $30 for an item that rangés from $45-$85 based on my online research. Staff was extraordinarily friendly and seemed happy doing their jobs. Merchandise was in good condition and thé store itself was spotless. Three stars for that. I hardly ever fréquent consignment or thrift stores anymore but this place is worth looking into if you are interested in such. read more

It was a Wednesday off from work and I was looking for something to do. I stumbled upon Crossroads on Yelp. I've been a consignment shopper for years so I was excited to find a new place to dig through. Let me say, I think consignment shopping is one of the best kept secrets. I'd say about 50% of the items that I picked up off the shelves still had tags on them. The items found their way to a new life after years of sitting in someone's closet, unused. Everything is color coded and pretty easy to navigate. The assortment of brands is nice. Anything from TopShop, to Free People. You can tell that the clothes were carefully sorted and accepted before going through. They're all trendy and/or in style. I thought the prices were extremely fair. I paid $21 for a beautiful Anthropologie wool coat. It had a very small stain and I mentioned it to the manager. She gave me 10% off so that was a plus. The staff seems to be hit or miss. I came in contact with 3 employees. One was organizing clothes on the rack next to me and asked how everything was going (the standard). Another, while ringing out, was having a conversation for about 30 seconds while I stood there and waited to be rung out. It doesn't sound like a long time but you know the feeling!! I left having spent $50 for 3 things. I got a really nice wool coat, a shirt that I can wear to work, and a well-made flannel that still had the tags on it. I thought that was a good deal for well known brands. Looking forward to coming back in a few months. read more

Wow!!! Second hand clothing dreams! Stopped into this newish store for the first time and immediately vowed, I will never, ever step foot into the chaos that is Beacon's Closet again. Up front you'll find some new stuff, but venture past that and be amazed by the racks upon racks of clothing-BCBG to H&M to a few vintage pieces (though admittedly there isn't a ton of vintage here). Behind the counter you'll find higher end stuff like Valentino, for utterly reasonable prices. The shoe collection is astonishing!! I don't know who their buyers are but they know what they are doing. It's rare that I can walk into similar stores and walk out with anything, but I found myself with an armful of clothing so reasonably priced and in such good condition, it felt *probably* like the thrill of shoplifting (that I've never personally felt, of course). There's so much here, but I'm not at all overwhelmed because the racks are not stuffed with subpar items. I write this review cautiously because I almost want to keep it a secret. Everyone else can continue to pack out Beacon's Closet, which I've found a bit of a disappointment recently, not to mention the way they rip you off when buying clothes from those desperate to make room for precious closet space. Staff here is also refreshingly friendly, unlike... other similar stores in the 'hood. No cooler than thou attitudes as they listlessly drone, "as is." read more

With all that's going on within society's current state, I called this establishment 11.30 this morning to ensure they'll be open & accepting clothes today. Was directed their automated system to call the store directly; 718.387.4930 after speaking with their associate she confirmed they are indeed accepting clothes for those interested in selling. I traveled over 50 mins with my load of garments. Upon my arrival the doors were closed, so I called and upon my surprise they turned their phone lines off. I stood there and made a few calls to be certain. And still the same dial tone on the other other end. Luckily for me I went to Buffalo Exchange, a more reliable establishment with proper business ethics. And after an hour I called crossroads again just out of curiosity. & would you guess their phones were back in service. I do not take my time being wasted lightly and will never support this company nor brand. I can not recommend anyone to frequent this facility for their business practices are horrendous. read more

I was going to kill time at a coffee shop prior to my yoga class, but I literally, bumped into this store. I was too busy using my Yelp app and basically ran into a guy who was coming right out of this place. I looked up and apologized, but then I saw this place. It looked like a clothing store from the outside, so I ventured in. My curiosity had to be satisfied. OMFG. I have died and gone to thrift store HEAVEN. They have an excellent curated selection of gently used items. I found myself browsing like a mad woman, and liked many many pieces in the DRESS section. And if you like 80s, this is the place for you. Everything is very reasonably priced, and all of the merchandise were in very good condition. They have bags, shoes, and lots of accessories. I definitely shop here always. But I hope for that one day that the staff will be up to standard. That one day I won't get a passive aggressive "there's a tag on it" when I ask for a price because I clearly looked and didn't find it myself and the associate should've been able to be diligent and kind enough to do their job of showing me. And maybe one day I'll walk in and their will be a fitting room attendant that is actually working instead of only working when it's kind of full and then when it's clearly down time, nobody is clearing the rack and mess of hangers next to the fitting room. You will definitely get your walk in-- get what you want try it on, without being bothered-- pay out with a dry cashier so not a waste of a second in conversation (if you like that)-- simple shop experience.
