Love all the clothes here! Great choices and as someone in their 20s trying to save, it's a perfect thrift store. It's a shame that every time I come in, the staff (specifically some of the women) have been extremely rude. On multiple occasions, I've considered not coming back because I know that I'll leave in a bad mood. I hope one of the employees reads this and something can be done, customers are not perfect, I know this as someone who worked in retail all my life. But to treat your customers the way I've been treated is a real disappointment. Hoping for change on this! read more

As with the other consigners, CRAPPY for sellers (Get thee on Tradesy, or better yet, the RealReal.com) but marginally better for buyers. And definitely infinitely better than their competitors like Buffalo Exchange (sweatstained hipster wear) or Beacon's Closet (damaged, ugly hipster wear). Most days, I won't find anything, but once in a while, you'll score enough to want to try again. You'll need at least an hour to dig though....The last time I was there, about 2 weeks ago, I found a brand new pair of J. Crew silver leather flats for $11 (50% off the original tag of $22). Even with a purchase of a tote bag costing a quarter, it was a good deal. I'm not usually a J. Crew kind of girl, but it was definitely a great (work-worthy) find for what you would spend on a cheap summer cocktail. read more

Brought in some items to sell. You go directly to the right when you get in. You sign your name on the clipboard. You can leave your stuff behind the counter to look around or you can just sit on the benches for you to call them. I waited around 15-20 minutes for them to call my name. They take your ID if it's your first time, to copy down your information. They took my striped banana republic pants. (Selling items here (and elsewhere) definitely makes it feel like you are being judged--because you are). Then they say "30% cash or 50% of the price we're selling it for." I opted for cash. They then say you can go to the registar to the left to get your money. They didn't hand me back my ID when I was done, but they're keeping it for me until I can take it back at least. I walked around the store to look at the selection--not that great. Nothing really stood out. It was less hipstery than what I had been in it the last couple of times. read more

Excellent, affordable thrift shop!!! I visited three other thrift shops before coming to this location. Boy, am I glad that i have yelp to help me find thrift shops other than Beacon's Closet, Monk, and Buffalo Exchange. While I was searching around, I found a lot of great sales, high end designers, and clothing/shoes seemed practically brand new. The staff was down to earth, and friendly. I was enlightened during my visit and can't wait to visit again! CONS: Clothes are not organized by size and this does not make shopping for the customer as pleasurable. read more

I wrote in 2011 that I would come back with more time and energy, and that day finally came. This location is far superior to the Chelsea one - it's bigger and the prices are much lower. Meh. Okay for buying, $hit for selling. Brought in pretty new threads, lots of things barely worn, and got less than $10 bucks in trade-in value. Bummer (especially considering I had to wait in line for a few hours to trade...they do have a drop-off option, though). The clothing available for sale is pretty good though. Some of the prices seem a bit high, especially considering that the stuff is used...but it's definitely worth checking if you're looking for something specific, or digs for a party or something. I don't normally right reviews but I take them very seriously. As a person who works in customer service I try to give people the benefit of the doubt. I go in and as I'm searching I find 2 workout sets which WERE PRICED TOGETHER for $15 EACH and I got a T-shirt. As I go to check out I say hi to the cashier doesn't say nothing but if I need a bag I then put my items on the counter. He didn't make eye contact and proceeds to check me out. I check the total and I was confused as to why it was almost $100 he then tells me that nothing is sold together and I should've payed more attention. I then was confused because it literally said $15.00 ON THE TAG. I then tell him to remove a set he looks so bothered because I said that then I told him to remove the other one too. It was just the attitude for me. No eye contact just staring into space. read more

This place never fails me. Always quality, designer, and fun clothing. I'm always on the hunt for trendy pieces. Make sure you always look up: the cloths are designer and have their info and prices on them. I always find a "good" find. This time my besties birthday was on sunday and I showed her this hidden little gem (well for Jersey peeps/manhattan ONLY people). She found so many great pieces for her trip for only 60.00; blue dressy/casual dress, French connection black basic purse, a few tops. She was overall very happy about the finds here. I got a deep rich purple dress by a designer in NYC (tags on) and a white tank with a rich purple to match. It was kind of meant to be. the back is really low cut too. This place is amazing. If you need some place to donate cloths, get money, and then spend it there, this is the place. read more

It was my first time trying to sell my gentle used clothes...so I guess the experience was OK. There isn't directions on what a newbie should do when entering the store, but that was cleared up when I went on the purchase line and was told by the clerk what to do...as far as placing my name on the list and wait to be called. The wait wasn't long(had 2 ppl in front of me)...but I would strongly suggest they invest in a intercom system. I mean its nice for the clerk who does the buying to walk around and look for the person next in line to sell, in addition to answering other questions amongst his colleagues, but jeez...what about optimizing everyone time? like calling the next person waiting and then go back to whom was skipped. Items I expected to get bought weren't, and items I was indifferent about got bought, which isn't bad at all. 5/8 items were bought...and i racked up $25-30. Not bad if I may so for a first time seller like myself. I'm def gonna go back prior to the summer season, as I think more of my garments would be purchased. read more

I stopped in here last Wednesday hoping to find a dress to wear to a wedding that weekend and left with two great dresses as well as a couple of Penguin (brand) shirts for my boyfriend, and spent less than $100. I had a hard time deciding which dress to wear for the wedding and ultimately got loads of compliments on the one I chose, no one could believe that I got it secondhand. I've found some designer clothing in good condition here and there (Opening Ceremony, Acne and Burberry). They carry a lot of Forever 21 and H&M. Though, they're good selects. I've visited this store about 10x. The store is pretty organized throughout the day, but I'd still sift through other sizes. I've found smalls in medium sections, and size 7 shoes where 6s are. Most likely left behind by a customer with second thoughts before checkout. I've sold here about 5x and they usually take majority of my clothes/shoes. I do still think I'd make a bigger profit if I were to create a Poshmark, Depop or eBay store, but I really don't have the patience or time for that. Everything is priced so low compared to its original cost, so it just balances out. read more

It this really should be 0 stars! I left today from crossroads extremely upset. I've been selling clothes there for years and never had a bad experience but today I went in to sell clothes like always. While they sorted my clothes I walked to look for new options. I left a tied bag of food I just bought for my dinner on the sitting waiting area to be careful not to ruin any of the merchandise. I spent maybe 5 mins tops looking at jackets to return to find my food was missing. A worker named Austin decided to throw my food away without notifying any of the shoppers. I understand if it was left for hours but my food was still hot in the bag! The workers even encourage us to leave shopping bags there while we look around. There were 2 Wholefoods bags waiting next to mine but those went untouched. This is so disgraceful that a company wouldn't at the very least place the item aside till someone asks if someone took it. Austin did a terrible thing by not placing it to the side at the very least. It costs me my dinner for the night. Crossroads needs to do better by its customers!! read more

The staff here needs tailoring! Staff is rude! I shop here often, but I really hope Corporate Headquarters brings their customer service up to standard. If they don't I might start a petition and force them out of my neighborhood. Even the managers treat you with disregard and are unsympathetic to your experience and needs. Instead of just saying "I'm sorry" while rolling their eyes, why not actually fix the problem, and at the very least make me feel like you give a shit about my feedback. I am all for supporting mom and pop shops, but this place needs some serious TLC. If the manager is rude one can only imagine the quality of service one is to expect from their staff. This store has the best selection of shoes and dresses. I frequent the store with my own things to sell from photoshoots and my friend's business. The trade off is great and their prices are even more appealing. The staff offers help and ideas with styling and they're quite knowledgeable about new trends at present and for the months ahead(important for me when I gather for seasonal shots). read more

This is an expensive version of Goodwill or Salvation Army . At least in Good will or Savation u can still find vintage good for good price , and some days you get 50% off . At Crossroads it's a huge mess of contemporary and expensive clothes ! Nothing ! The way they curated this , it's really predictable ! Anyone who likes fashion duh can do that !!! Just a bunch of same same brands ! Super boring selection !! I would rather go to Beacons Closet which has more interesting experience , it's appealing , you can find different stuff , Beacon has a good selection of finds and same prince as Crossroads Or go to Salvation Army from Brooklyn , the Atlantic Av and the Quincy in Clinton Hill are amazing !!! But Crossroads it's externally overwhelming, plus expensive and also being in the most overrated neighborhood in Brooklyn , just makes it more clear that the place it's dead ! They are just near Starbucks so I think it fits them well read more

SELLING REVIEW ONLY Weekday at 12pm: 45 minute wait. Weekend at 11am: 40 minute wait. (Arrived 10 minutes before the store opened and there was already a line of 5 people outside the store.) Weekday at 6:30pm: 20 minute wait. Walk in, type in your name and number of garments on the iPad to "sign in" and wait your turn, just like at the Apple Store. They also have a drop-off service. (Pick up in 1~3 days.) They buy mostly casual clothes. They gave me Steve Madden boots for $6 cash, Benetton coat for $13 cash. They didn't accept my office clothes like suit jackets, slacks and button downs. The staff here are very friendly and chill. Although Beacon's Closet does buy at a slightly higher rate, I prefer selling at Crossroads just for the quality of customer service. read more

Great selection of name brand stuff and interstitial g one ofs too! I have two boys in their teens that love labels - I myself love vintage and think the world does not need to make anymore new clothing - we are drowning in it! This way they get all the new labels and trends and I dont feel bad for adding to the consumerism and manufacturing that's burying us in garbage. Prices are great too - one of my kids loves sneakers and we always find a new pair of kicks for like 20-30$ that are super cool and satisfy the sneaker head in him. Highly recommend this shop. This store has a ton of really cute stuff and unlike a lot of other thrift shops I don't find the space to be overwhelming at all. As a shopper I really enjoy Crossroads. However, as a seller they have been a total nightmare! I consigned a brand new designer dress with tags with them. I was told after 4 weeks the price would drop to 20% off then at 6 weeks it would be 50% off. They would hold it for 8 weeks and at the end of that period I had to prick up my dress or it would be donated. The day before it dropped to 50% off I went to pick up my dress because I wanted to take it somewhere else to try to get a better price for it. When I came in to get it they couldn't find the dress anywhere in the store. It wasn't hanging on the walls or in the back. They assured me it hadn't been sold or donated but they just needed to find it. Not comforting. I left upset and empty handed. After that I called them nearly every day asking if they'd found it. They hadn't. i told them if they found it not to sell it because I wanted to pick it up. Until about a week and a half later, I called and they said the dress had sold. I was pretty upset because I'd been really dead set on getting it back and I knew I was losing money on it. Fast forward 6 weeks: I still haven't received a check for it. I've been calling the store for DAYS and every time the phone rings and rings and no one picks up. I can't even leave a voicemail because every time I call it says the mailbox is full. Like I said, cute place to shop and probably sell. But I will NEVER be consigning anything with them again! read more

I love the "idea" of being green and getting clothes on the cheap, but I've finally come to terms with the fact that thrifting is just not for me. I've gotten to the point in my life where it's no longer about the price, but really about the quality and how I feel in each item of clothing. If I don't feel magnificent, I don't want it! During my 1 hour visit to Crossroads I did my best to pull items which I thought would work in my wardrobe and fit my body, but every time I emerged from the dressing room an unsuccessful mess! Even a Dianne Von Furstenburg dress I hoped would fit, only ended up making me look like a frumpy dumpy old lady. As other reviewers have written, it's certainly a hodge podge of brands in the racks and you will need to dig on a regular basis to find those gems. More expensive designer brands can be found hanging on the walls and you can have a salesperson grab them for you. They passed on everything - and donated it all so I couldn't even get any items back. When I asked why she said they are being "extremely selective" right now. Well then you should've informed people of that BEFORE they drop off their items, not when they come to pick up $0. Taking my things to buffalo exchange. Because they actually organize their stuff by size. And don't screw people over. Also, this is a thrift store. Who is going to pay $300 for brand name purses when they can buy them new for cheaper. Excellent selection of clothing, kinda dummy staff. Let me preface this review by saying that I ABHOR shopping, always wait until the very last second (see: finally buying sweaters in mid-November when I currently own no sweaters), and really need to be coddled during the experience. Crossroads is set up vastly better than the other two stores cuzzin and I ventured into this weekend - Buffalo Exchange and Beacon's Closet. The latter two are literally stuffed to the brim with round racks, through which it is almost impossible to make you way. Add to that Saturday the shopping day we chose - both of us left the other two stores empty handed and nearly hyperventilating. Crossroads is set up in neat rows, with space to walk in a straight line (omg!) through. The selection here ranges from fun finds like Ben Sherman to your standard sweaters I ended up buying - J. Crew, Abercrombie, NY&Co. Most of the wears are in good condition - though I did try on a beautiful gray cashmere cable knit with multiple holes in it (which fit perfectly, of course - boo). Anyway, the prices are great - around ten bucks for each sweater. I also found an adorable pair of blue leather pumps (with blue ribbons to tie them closed!) for about fifteen dollars. So the goods are good here. The staff was kinda disinterested pseudo-hipsters, though. The woman running the dressing room - which btw was not full and did not have a line - was rude, and militant about bringing only six items in. I had nine, so I gave her two back (she didn't count them!) and took seven in with me - I can't help it I'm inherently rebellious. My cousin actually had her items counted, and ended up spending quite a while in the dressing room, as she couldn't take all of her items in with her at once. Sort of annoying. Anyway, maybe she was just having a bad day - but I'm a sucker for good customer service, so that part of the experience is important to me. I did have great luck here and liked the options available for dresses, shoes, and sweaters (though the pants, dare I say, did not go up to size 14, which was unfortunate for my ghetto booty). *This is a review for my selling experience* The Brooklyn location is the first Crossroads Trading Co in New York, and it fits right into the neighborhood. I found the location accessible off the train, and there was no wait to sell clothing on a Sunday afternoon. I didn't really take a look at any of the clothes, so can't say much about their selection- pretty much what you would find at any thrift store in a major city. To sell you need to be very mindful of the season the store is currently buying for, so your chances of selling more will be higher. You can bring in designer brands or chain store trendy pieces - for example, I've had success with Marni, Alice and Olivia, Citizens of Humanity, James Jeans, and French Connection, but also Levis, Free People, Forever 21, Urban Outfitters, Aldo shoes, etc. I found the girl who looked at my clothes to be brusque, dismissive, kind of cold, and not very knowledgeable. My experience selling at one of the many Crossroads locations in LA was much more positive, with the buyers taking their time sorting through my pile, occasionally asking me what season a designer item was, and informing me of the price they would give me before accepting the item. This girl was taking her whole new yorker act a bit too seriously. (she also said to a coworker who mentioned she was hungry: "yeah you ate a bagel for lunch, that's like air!!" - um, no hun). I found the girls at the nearby Buffalo Exchange to be friendlier and willing to take far more items FYI ! read more

I have actually shopped at all of the Crossroads Stores, but the 135 N 7th St, Brooklyn, NY location is my absolute favorite store! All of the staff there are so sweet and kind and they are very attentive to my belongings whether they are purchasing or passing on them. Rose, Ryan and Diego are very patient when answering any questions (and I can ask a lot - lol) that I may have in regards to purchase pricing and I know that they truly appreciate the fact that I value their store as my number one shop to consign my items at when I'm in New York. They always express that to me when I come visit and staff at the other Crossroads locations have never been so expressive with gratitude for my patronage. I highly recommend that you put Crossroads N 13th Street on your list to visit when you are in the area....or just go make that special trip to go see the store for yourself. I really do L.O.V.E this place!!! The prices to me are very fair, because some of the items are half off. I found a great trench coat for $17 and a pair of pleated wide leg pants (which I have wanted for a very long time) for $6! I found so many great other items and didn't even look through the whole store. It smells great in there and the staff is very kind!! The men's side is kinda sad. They only have maybe 4 rack back and front, but there are some great pieces on the racks. They have a great shoe collection (I just couldn't find my size). I would need a couple of hours just to look at every item, because the store is a good size.... Seriously Recommended :) read more

I just wanted to take the time to update my review as the manager contacted me after reading my review about their consignment policy. She was incredible; she told me to leave my phone number and told me she would look for the pair of shoes that I had consigned. I wish I could remember her name! Basically, she found my shoes and I was able to pick them up safe and unharmed. It was my first time selling here. I came on a Sunday evening with two bags of clothes. As soon as I walked in, a nice guy at the front greeted me and told me to sign in. I was nervous that it would take all evening but there were only four people ahead of me and I waited no more than 20 minutes. I had a mix of party/work/casual dresses, a pair of unworn boots and a few jeans and pants. The buyer was really nice and went through everything carefully. Out of all of my stuff, she took four items. She did say that they were looking for fall winter items but some of the items she took didn't necessarily fall into that category so I wasn't sure why she chose some items over the rest. Used to love this place but it's changed too much in the last year. As a shopper, they used to have a much better variety of clothing a year ago. I used to find fun quirky jackets and tees but looks like they're trying to focus a lot more on brands now and what Williamsburg visitors are going to buy. It used to be about the locals man! I now only see basic well known brands which i think is pointless as online sales are the go to these days. I now shop at the other Brooklyn consignment stores instead. As a seller, my experience has been how many items they buy from you is super inconsistent and dependent on the cashier/buyer. I always check their website for what they're looking for and don't bother taking anything without a label on. I once had only 2 items out of 19 accepted (i got a whopping $11 in cash) after the cashier explained my new items don't do well in that store. I went back 2 weeks later with the same items and they took 12 other things (made $160). Welcome to new Brooklyn. I think you should get an itemized receipt of the items they take with how much you received for it and how much it retails for in store. I can't believe they don't do this. read more

I don't see the beauty of this store. They have basically used H&M, Express, and Forever21. If you live in NY, you should shop at a real thrift store, not here. I went here today to sell some of my old jackets, and they were really picky about weird things. They didn't take some high-end designer things that I had bc of a few small stains when the rest of their crap is basically private label items. The only reason why I gave them three instead of two stars is that they pay out more than Buffalo Exchange. If you ask for cash, they give you 35%, but Buffalo Exchange only gives you 30%. read more

Yay for Crossroads having their ish together! This is the perfect spot for vintage / consignment shopping with an item in mind. No more perusing the racks in endless frustration, Crossroads neatly organizes their finds by size and color. The prices are spot-on, and the selection is always good. It's also a place I actually enjoy selling my clothes to, because they've never made me feel like total loser when they don't take anything. The staff is always super nice, even if I bring a whole bag of clothes and all they buy is one scarf. No judgement, no attitude - just nice people! read more

The staff never addressed you, barely even looks at you, and if they do they're rolling their eyes.
