Perfect stop after a day at the Croton Gorge Park. They have about 10 beers on tap, plus wine and cocktails. They also have pizza but we didn't think much of it until it came out. It looked so good and we ordered one too. The crust had nicely charred leopard spots and still fluffy in the middle. The tomato sauce was well-balanced. I wished they put more basil on it tho. Overall, an excellent experience and we'd be back if we're in the area!

Amazing selection of draft beer, bottled beer, and wine. Local, intimate feel. Regular family friendly community events. Personable service. Their wood fired pizza is delicious. Wonderful location right in the heart of the village. I try to visit each time I'm in town!

What a fun place. I can only speak to the atmosphere and beer since I have never eaten at Tapsmith, but it's a great little local watering hole. Owner Tracy is very friendly, a good conversationalist, and you can tell he really cares about his customers. You immediately feel at home when you walk in. Great variety of beers on tap and to go.

This place was great! I came here around 3:00 PM on a Saturday. Their oven wasn't on yet for pizza and empanadas; it's turned on around 4:00 PM. Their food selections change as their inventory rotated. One of the owners told me that they were getting a pizza oven to go outside soon. They had a variety of beer selections: on tap and in cans. There is also plenty of seating inside (at tables), at the bar and outside. It was quiet when I was here, but I'm sure it gets a little busier with the dinner rush. I would definitely come back on a Tuesday, when they get their food shipments in order to try more of their food options. I look forward to coming back to this place again!

Pizza was decent outside of the city but the beer/wine are really good. Local mom & pop centrally located w a cute vibe & outdoor seating.

This place is a great addition to Croton. Good pizza and panini. Good beer and wine selection. It's classy but not pretentious. It has a good dart board, and just a cool older vibe. Kids are welcome, but better to call the sitter and take your love out for a beer and a bite. It's already popular, but not overcrowded. The owner is there and he has some interesting stories to tell, the bar tender was friendly. Finally the price was right $10 personal pizza $7 to $8 for beer and $10 for a glass of wine.

I decided on coming here for the beer list. I have been to the green growler and enjoyed it so I was looking for another place in the area. I don't think the Tapsmith will be a spot I frequent. We ordered two beers, one can one draft, and it came to $19. Neither beer was exclusive, I have seen both breweries at half time for way less. For a croton location vs nyc I just don't think it's worth it. Let's not mention it was very cold and they only offered two food options, rather go somewhere else.

Awesome ambiance! A great little spot in the middle of the village to stop in for a drink and catchup with a friend. There is a lot of seating and a social atmosphere. They also have delicious bar-bites that go far beyond your traditional wings and peanuts. Local Hudson Valley refreshments (beers, ciders, foods). 100% worth visiting and a great addition to Croton!!!

A search on the ol' Yelp app showed The Tavern at Croton Landing as a good choice of venue that would be less than 20 minutes away from the Blaze. The Tavern is nestled into the ground floor of (what looks like) a residential house. The ceiling is a tad lower than you might expect but that is part of the charm of the place. When you walk in there are several tables with tall chairs. The middle has some regular sized tables and chairs and then towards the back to the left is the bar. The rest rooms are on the right. The space was crowded when we arrived with a mixture of locals (who the staff seemed to know) and presumably other Blaze attendees. The Tavern space has definitely been there for a while, but the new wood on the ceiling and the overall condition of the bar shows that it has been renovated over the years with care. We were seated very quickly and our waitress was very good about answering our questions with a smile. I wound up ordering a personal sized pizza with mushrooms. What's interesting is that my dish was perhaps the most middle of the road. I think the sauce needed a bit more flavor. However, everyone else at the table got some awesome dishes. One person got a crab chowder which was savory and a bit spicy. Another person got the Lobster Mac n' Cheese and let me tell you, they do not skimp on the lobster! It seems if you get lobster dishes, they do not mess around! I had a great experience at The Tavern and if I go to the Blaze again next year I'll absolutely go again!

We found Benny Havens on Yelp and thought it looked worth a try. This place is what it is, a local institution that does what it does; if you want something else, go someplace else. It is of course unabashedly an Army bar. Sure it's a dive, but in the coziest, best sense of the word. The owner and staff were welcoming and the food was simple and honest. All they have is hamburgers/cheeseburgers and wings, and fries or onion rings! That's it! We had cheeseburgers and fries/onion rings and everything was fresh and tasty. The bar is a great big wooden thing and I bet it has stories to tell. The beer was cold and the whiskey tasty. It's cash only, so bring your greenbacks. I don't often have reason to stop at places like Benny Havens, but every time I do, I wonder why I don't visit more often.

We came for the burgers - and must admit was wary of going to a little pub for food- but they did not disappoint! The burgers were big and juicy and tasted like they had been grilled on a backyard bbq. (So good I forgot to snap a photo!) The fries were light and crispy (similar to McDonalds). We tried the chicken wings as well. They are fried and not as juicy as I typically like, but had a good flavor. It's a limited menu but there's a little something for everyone (chicken tenders, burgers, onion rings, mozzarella sticks). The waitress and bartender were both very kind and friendly to myself and my son, who were visiting West Point Academy for the weekend. We also met a couple of WP Alums who were meeting up and very nice and welcoming to us both. Def recommend if you're in town for a local experience - swing by for a burger and a beer!

We came as we understood the wings were the best in Westchester County... After trying two varieties, and being on a perennial wing trail chase for the last four years... I find that title difficult to believe. Wings were meaty, cooked correctly, and came well appointed with blue cheese and celery. Plus, I'm a sucker for wing establishments that provide the wooden bowl for bones. I love that. Otherwise, I found the wings lightly sauced, and kind of dry... We tried the blazers traditional, which are fried, sauce, then refried... They needed one more dunk in sauce to be top-notch. Our second order was their teriyaki wings... much more palatable... But we're still lacking. And I'm not a huge fan of wings that are not sauced in a hot sauce base. The opportunity to add a side of wasabi sauce to any wings was a welcome addition... As we needed the moisture. We did not try any other menu items, but the pub food looked delicious... And our server was fantastic. I do look forward to going back and trying to order things slightly differently... I'll chalk this first experience up on me not really strategically placing my order or knowing how to maximize the potential of a really great place. I know next time will be better.
