Ok, so I stopped by my favorite pizza place, Dough boys, and while eating a slice I look to my left and see Mc Canns Medical. Being that I am pretty well banged up and having a need for medical equip. for me and my wife (as she was just diagnosed with cancer), I decided to check out the place to see what they have that we might need, I was greeted by Brian, the manager, with a great big smile and a very warm, "welcome to our store". I found him to be a very knowlegable and likeable person with a desire to help me find equipment and especially items that my wife may need for her upcoming surgery. He showed me items with a no pressure approach then letting me browse the store. I was very impressed with the large and complete inventory from scooters, batteries, wheel chairs and just about anything you would need with impressively low prices compared to other supply houses. I was in need of compression socks that at this other store wanted $130 for a single pair of socks. Brian's large inventory of socks where only about $40 a pair. I went in with a list and was greeted and helped right away. This is all new and scary stuff for me. The woman working was so kind and patient and also knowledgeable and helpful. I was in and out quickly with all I needed. She helped me load my car and I just gave her a hug. She received it and hugged me back. We purchased a Golden electric wheelchair for my wife from the Salmon Creek store in June. It was a chair they had on consignment that appeared to be in like new excellent condition. My wife is absolutely dependent on the chair for here mobility. The cart worked excellent for about two months and then it quit unexpectedly leaving Susan stranded in the middle of a room and I was gone. When we purchased the cart from Brian at McCann's Medical in Salmon Creek he included a 90 day warranty on all problems except for batteries. When I brought the problem to their attention they immediately provided a new "loaner" and took the chair in to determine the problem. Without going into all of the details, over the next two or three weeks we confronted a series of inexplicable failure with these carts. We have been using electric mobility chairs and carts for over ten years and NEVER had any problems like this. But what has been excellent is the unfailing customer support from Mc Cann's. In the end without any hesitation they chose to simply replace the original cart with a new cart at no charge. Unbelieveably the new cart even quit. Without hesitation or delay their shop technician, Dan, came to our home and troubleshot and repaired the cart ensuring that it was working properly before he left. All of this was without any charges. We would recommend this business without hesitation. We can't speak too highly of their customer service and problem solving. I was in town visiting my newest grandson when part of my cpap headgear broke on a Friday night. I have a broken rib and am forced to sleep on my back. Nev was wonderful finding me a substitute for my headgear with nasal pillows and had it waiting for me when I came in Saturday morning. They made my emergency a simple thing to fix! I first called needing help with CPAP parts and accessories. I talked with Tonya who was also the DME Specialist and owner of Crown Medical supplies. Over the phone Tonya was very helpful and took the time to answer all my questions. I decided to take the time and drive to Vancouver, and it was worth the trip. She once again took the time, and helped me find the correct parts needed for my CPAP machine. She also gave me a tour of the store. This place has almost everything you need , and with a great variety of styles making it unique without breaking the bank. Yes, this places is more affordable than the other shops I have visited. my boyfriend and i went to portland for a long weekend. friday evening, he proposed to me at our hotel (squee!). late friday night, i discovered that i'd left a piece of my cpap mask at home. after a night of sleeping sitting up, i tried but could not find a dme supplier open on saturday with cpap stuff. my fiance said, "craigslist?" i was skeptical but that's how i found this place. we were in downtown portland and they were about to close. they offered to wait for us to get there and then they sold me a new mask. the woman at the store was incredibly nice and friendly, the mask was a perfect stopgap, and my engagement (!) weekend continued to be beyond anything i'd dreamed. i am so grateful to crown medical because they meant i got to sleep normally saturday night. thanks! read more
