The beds were comfortable and the bathroom spacious with white marble. The entire staff was very friendly and helpful. There is a little cafe attached to the lobby that is very pleasant and my daughter and I had a nice breakfast there during our visit. The A Brasileira might not be the least expensive option in porto but I felt for the location and quality it was worth it,

The only thing I didn't like about our room was the glass wall with mini blinds that separated the bathroom from bedroom. Sexy as the idea might have been it is a great disruption to be woken up multiple times during the night when the restroom is being used. When our flight home was cancelled last minute... the hotel staff was very accommodating and let us stay in the same room as well as assisted to reschedule our transportation to the airport the following day. One hour later I had to inquire again. Finally the manager stepped up and explained there was a maintenance issue on the connecting room and moved us to a new room instead. The associate never made eye contact with me after her "10 minute promise" on the wait time. Then, my room key was not working. I went downstairs and asked for a new key. The associate Francesca literally just handed me a key without asking for my identification. So unsafe! So I mentioned this to Beatrice right after and her explanation was "If we know the guest, we will issue the key without any identification. BUT, it told her Francesca never met me. She could have just reissued the key to any stranger not registered to the room. Beatrice took my complaint down and scribbled away. No follow up was done. I went ahead and reported this to the Marriott Customer Service and they provided me a case #. Apparently, the property was to get back to me in 24 hours. No follow up 10 days later. Apparently the case was closed without any follow up. They have re-opened the case and now they have 3 business days to get back to me. Disappointed with the customer service.

First, there is massive construction in front of the hotel that should have been finished last year but the new completion date is TBD. Thankfully, our room faced the back of the hotel, looking out into an interior apartment complex, so we didn't have to deal with the early-hour jackhammering. But if I had shelled out some serious money for the Intercontinental brand and a pretty view of Praça da Liberdade, Porto's main square, and was just looking out at a construction lot covered in tarp, I'd be pretty disappointed. Service here was iffy. When we got to the hotel, the bellboy took our bags and, since the concierge was busy, pointed us to some empty seats nearby; I assumed we'd then be next. Then a line starts forming for people waiting to check in as we're sitting there before we finally realize we need to be standing in the line. We never got much of a "Good morning" or "Have a nice day" from the bellboys, only a very diffident nod. We had a hotel credit and used it at the bar; food was exceptionally mediocre and, par for the course, extremely expensive. Two redeeming points for the hotel: 1. The breakfast buffet was pretty good, with several options and fresh fruit. Still doesn't hold a candle to the legendary hotel buffets in Asia. 2. The location was stellar, easy walking distance to most tourist attractions and the bridges in Porto. That's probably what drives the price up. Wouldn't stay here again.

I read that free port wine was included with the room, never saw it or was offered it. I felt that someone from staff could have offered something to make it better, but no one did. Although I only stayed for 1 night, it was a super stay. My friend and I arrived early and had the warmest greeting from the front desk. Cleiton R and Carolina B. They had such great smiles we instantly felt at home. Although the room was not ready since it was only 11am, we asked to store our luggage and they did without hesitation. Cleiton, since he knew it was our 1st time in Porto, took out a map and circled many places for us possibly to visit. We actually went to many of the places he had circled. We came back after 2pm because we purchased a few items and since we had a tour beginning at 3pm. When we came back Carolina informed us our room was ready. The room was decently spacious and modern. The bathroom was really nice. We freshened up quickly and both Cleiton and Carolina were there and let us know of the happy hour the hotel has between 4 and 6pm. Unfortunately we were not going to be back in tume, but they also let us know about the rooftop. We came back from our Port Wine excursion and we stopped at the rooftop. It was empty at the tune but met a young Argentinian man who he and I clicked right away. Ended up speaking to him for quite a few mins. He gave us restaurant suggestions in the area and we went to one of them and it went perfectly. The next day, as we checked out, we saw Cleiton and Carolina again and they expedited our check out flawlessly. I do have to mention the 2 people on the bight shift were also very nice!! We also got a bar of chocolate as a goodbye present. I rarely give out 5 stars, but everything worked out so well, I had to give one to Premium. I would happily stay at a Premium Hotel again!!!

Needed a home base to explore Porto for 3 nights, and this hotel offered the perfect mix of affordability, convenience, and amenities. Located at the outskirts of Porto, its fairly easy to get to, and they have a very small parking lot with limited street parking. So if you park, don't move your car or you will be hunting for a spot. Small lobby on the first floor, but staff are kind and efficient, getting you to your room and explaining amenities fairly quickly. The bar / restaurant is excellent with friendly staff and great service, and the credit included for elite members makes it even better. However, no free breakfast which is a bummer. The rooms are basic, but comfortable. Could always be a bit larger, but got the job done. Wifi worked well, and decent amount of English channels on the TV. Water pressure was excellent. Would definitely stay again for affordability, but something in city center is a bit more convenient.
