Perfect place to stay while you are in Porto! I loved the location. It was so close to everything! We never took an Uber since it was located in a great spot. Also, the staff here is so friendly and kind. They are so accommodating for our needs. The hotel is very cute and clean! We got free breakfast included in our stay and the food was so good! Also, our servers were so nice. They made sure they took care of us. If you are looking for a place to stay while you are in Porto, I would highly recommend this hotel!

Jackhammering, scraping, digging, yelling, and vibrations from the 24/7 construction SURROUNDING this hotel. Make other plans. Not worth your money. Disgusted that we had absolutely no warning.

The Intercontinental Porto is a reliable choice. Although the location is somewhat outdated, the service is generally good. On this rainy and windy evening, I opted to stay in and enjoy a couple of drinks at the hotel bar.

Perfect location sounded by amazing architecture. Love the spiral staircase. The room was huge by European Standards and the view was spectacular. Had a toilet & bidet, bathtub abs walk in shower. Loved the custard tarts awaiting our arrival. The breakfast buffet has a great selection & champagne. The bar was closed. There is outdoor seating off the restaurant.

Our Tauck tour arrived in Porto Portugal in the late afternoon. They had chosen this Hotel in particular because of its central location for walking tours in the old city. I would have preferred a hotel off the Douro River near the Port wine makers, but I understand the logic. This Hotel is a converted 18th-century palace that oversees Avenida dos Aliados, also next to the Estação de São Bento train station, and a short walk to Sé do Porto cathedral. The lobby is extravagant with high ceilings and chandeliers. The rooms are also elegant with marble bathrooms and spacious comfortable room. The Hotel provides breakfast as part of your stay. They also offer massages and beauty treatments in their spa. We really did not have the time to take advantage of the Hotel amenities unfortunately. .

We LOVED our stay here. My husband and I stayed at their junior suite for four nights for our honeymoon. The staff is incredible helpful - I was feeling sick with a fever and cough several nights and they brought us teas, lemons, and honey. The hotel location is excellent, close to all the nice restaurants and pastries.

Checked in late night and the front desk was warm and welcoming. Check in was a breeze, the bellman helped us with our luggage and was very helpful in getting us comfortable in the room. Great location, clean and a comfortable bed to get a great nights sleep. Highly recommend staying here. Thank you for the great hospitality.

Service and ambiance you would expect at a world class hotel. We stopped in to the bar for a few drinks. The bartender was very enthusiastic - we went off menu and he got into it. Taught him the recipe for a classic Singapore sling - he served a nice rendition. drink prices are high for Porto, but average US city pricing. The hotel itself is well situated near the city center. Worth a visit.

We were able to walk everywhere in just a few minutes. It is located a little off the beaten path which made it really quiet and relaxing. We stayed down by the river front and across the river most of the time. If you want to go up into the city center, I recommend taking the funicular or uber if you don't want to walk up a huge flight of stairs. The walk to the city center is straight up the entire time but it was fine because we took a break at a coffee shop. This hotel has a beautiful rooftop bar with a really pretty and quiet view of the river. Our room was clean and the tile accents were beautiful. The front desk and bar staff were really friendly and everyone spoke English. If we go back to Porto, we would definitely stay here again.

This location is only steps away from the famous UNESCO Heritage's Ribeira with scrumptious restaurants and city life. Totally worth the stay if you're in Porto and I will definitely be back! #enjoygoodpeople

The hotel itself is old but has a charming, aesthetic vibe and is a pretty cool place to stay in Porto. The breakfast was good, and the location is great. The pool is on the smaller side, and I didn't get to use it since the weather wasn't ideal during my stay. It also has a unique old fashioned elevator with a couch, which added to the experience. Overall, it was a cool stay, though they mentioned they'd give me banana bread, and I never received it.

The hotel is beautifully appointed, having recently been renovated, with attention paid to period details. I was impressed by the delicious breakfast service. I particularly appreciated the attentive and extremely friendly service of the hotel staff, some even referring to me by name multiple days after checking. I felt the staff went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. We splurged for the junior suite as we had 3 of us traveling together and it was very comfortable with the addition of a cot in the room. Or note, the restaurant has an extremely tasty and affordable happy hour with 1€ oysters on the half shell. I look forward to visiting again soon!

This is significant when dealing with the hill down to the hotel with luggage and more importantly UP! The front desk people were great. So helpful with information and friendly. Our room was a bit small. Everything we needed was there and we were comfortable with an alley-view room. Little did we know, said alley becomes quite the culinary scene after 8;30 at night. We loved being greeted with port on arrival. The breakfast buffet was what made our stay so memorable. They had everything from bakery items to standard fare to specialty items cooked to order to a charcuterie room that i was totally enamored with. Glad we found out about the mimosas on our last day as we would have started on them every morning. I would definitely stay here again and recommend the place. Side note* sunset view of the Douro from their upstairs balcony at Vinology is not to be missed. Bring your patience and don't go hungry. This spot is a missed opportunity for them- It could be a fabulous destination in itself. The other food outlet Heritage Bar was meh too so only 4 star rating.

AC doesn't work well, so you are warned for the summer months. Room was spacious, super clean and very comfortable. Not as many ammenities as other hotels, but you do get the robe and slippers and toiletries (attached to the wall). Not too shabby. The staff for the most part are GREAT. On our first day some really couldn't answer questions/seemed confused and had issues with both English and Spanish, but we got through it. They try hard, and that is worth something. The lobby is small and can get crowded quickly. And now Bicicleta - the most unfriendly, obnoxious and unhelpful group of people I have met in Portugal or in most places. ABSOLUTELY THE PITS. Starting with Mr. Grumpy bouncer with an idiot attitude that is like a drill Sargeant when it came to checking on people not walking in from the streets on their way to the CROWDED breakfast room. (with bfast included in your price I can understand their concerns, but this guy was a bully). Most of the staff have a godforsaken look on their unfriendly faces, so if you are just wandering in to look around, expect to be inspected from head to toe and treated like you are a threat to society. NOT FRIENDLY. Breakfast: Where the coffee machine is located creates a mess of a line in front of the hot breakfast buffet area. Food is not bad, but navigating it gets very confusing. And when you add on the most of the staff are simply the worst you will encounter in hospitality, it makes for a mess. KUDOS however to how management handled the power outage. With back up generator, aging adults were able to use the elevator and toilets flushed. COLD shower, but they had power. What didn't manage the situation well was of course Bicicleta, who could only offer salad and didn't think about bread and cheese and cold cuts. Hotel management of the situation was SUPERB. Bicicleta? They should just keep peddaling into another country and leave for good. Have I said they are a dissappointing crew for the most part? All in all, I would still stay here, now that I know my way around town, because the location is great and management works hard to please!
