"A picture is worth a thousand words." Scroll through the photos attached to this review and that'll give you an idea of what goes on at the Crowne Plaza. I 100% recommend that you DO NOT stay here! The lobby is beautiful, warm, and inviting but that's the only good thing they have to offer. We experienced nothing but problems during our entire stay! We booked two separate rooms and one was just as bad as the other one! The leaky ceiling in the bathroom, extremely low water pressure, barely warm shower ( they will tell you to let the water run for 15 mins so it can heat) dusty tables, extremely bad lighting, no AC in the hallways, no laundry room although some sites say they have one, difficultly communicating with housekeeping (you'll have to pull out your phone and use google translator) clogged toilets and the list goes on and on! The pool area looks good in photos, but it's on its last leg in reality. The pool sits in front of the parking lot so there's very little privacy. Everything in that area needs to be power washed or thrown out. There's a jacuzzi in the back corner and you couldn't pay me to get in it! They have a steakhouse on the main floor which is also the breakfast area during the morning. If you don't book the breakfast package when you make your reservation, you'll even up paying more for your breakfast than what it's worth! You'll get better breakfast at the McDonald's down the street and you'll save $$! Management will not offer any assistance or accommodations during your stay so don't expect any. The manager on duty deliberately ignored my request to speak with her and had the front desk staff lie about her whereabouts. This property is owned by a third party which explains a lot! I filed a complaint with them and it took several months for some sort of resolution. They gave me a very small amount of money back after I spent over $1k to stay there with my family. DO NOT STAY HERE!! Trust me.....

Conversation with my manager admitting the gas leak
    Allen M.

Well I was fired on 1/2/2024. Reason for firing is because I called OSHA and the property has a gas leak which I refuse to endure, as well as some of the rooms have mold. Both of these issues has been going on since I started working there in September but the hotel fails to warn guests or care for health and safety of their guests and staff. I'm trying to add pictures and videos. Stay tuned. But the question to ask when you call and reserve a room, is the gas leak fixed inside the hotel and outside and has the rooms with mold been properly treated and cleared. Also previous guest you also need to find out how you can be compensated

Priceline had it as a 3.5 star. Definitely 3 star, window ac, super low ceilings and the ac stinks of mold. Very unpleasant. One side of the headboard (bed) was super messed up. What on earth are people doing?! Beds seem clean ans are comfy though, so this is a plus. Area is nice also. But wouldn't stay here again, no way.

I was only here one night but it was a great hotel with new accommodations and excellent service. I was greeted promptly and recognized as an awards member. The front desk must have noticed my disheveled look as well (many delays and long sit on the aircraft) because she asked if I needed anything. My bonus points were awarded in 24 hours and I had the option of a drink coupon that I might have used had it been earlier. I had a King Suite and it was spacious with newer furniture. Love the showers in the newer HI hotel properties too. Rapid checkout and free fruit and breakfast in the lobby. Price was very reasonable for the quality. Highly recommend and will stay again no question. Reasonable rates and a nice hotel for business in The Woodlands are difficult to find but this place checks all the boxes for me.

I had the pleasure of dining in at Holiday Inn & Suites Shenandoah for my birthday. The service was absolutely amazing!! Ms. Avis the hostess was the absolute best I have ever witnessed, she checked in us continuously ensuring all of our needs were met and even sung Happy Birthday to me. The atmosphere was very calm and classy. We felt like total celebrities! The food was absolutely amazing as well my favorite was the tuna nachos even THE BREAD was delicious . We had the option to dine in privacy with a dim setting for the occasion. I'm so impressed and can't wait to return. The lemon drop martinis are the best around. Great job Holiday Inn

The hotel itself is clean and feels updated, the staff was friendly and welcoming, the rooms are spacious and new, the restaurants served good food, the gym was excellent as well. Did not try it, but they also have a nice looking pool. So really what's not to like. All of this and very close to many other restaurants in the woodlands area. The room was appointed nicely, design wise, it felt upscale, bed was comfortable, full glass shower, wide plank style tiles, comes with a mini fridge and coffee maker as well. The fridge is a great thing to have while traveling and not all hotels have them these days which is a shame. It also has a nice desk area to work at, TV and a little lounge area. The gym, nice sized gym, cardio equipment, treadmills, elliptical machines, Peloton bikes, etc. the also have dumbbells, but max out at 50 lbs, (which I would like to see a bit heavier), a couple benches, a multifunctional life fitness weight machine as well as a stretching area and kettle bells, some other machines, everything you need to get a nice workout. I need to stay at places with a nice gym and will skip places that don't have one, this one is great. They also have chilled towels you can use during or at the end of your workout, always like to see those little touches. All and all, excellent property and would not mind staying here again if I am in the area. I would recommend you check them out. Join their Bonvoy membership as well to get points on stays and eventually can use those points for free nights, etc. Enjoy!

The chefs did a great job with the menu, everything was thoughtfully prepared and well-paced. The staff was professional, attentive, and genuinely kind throughout the evening. I highly recommend both the hotel and the restaurant, not just for out-of-town guests, but also for locals or anyone looking for a relaxing staycation. I'm listing the menu below simply to highlight the culinary talent behind the evening, as every course was well executed and memorable. One the second day we ordered breakfast at Harrison's and the were very slow and hectic. I recommend the buffet which they are prepared for and the best cost. We took our kids golfing for the first time. We booked a late tee time to avoid the crowds. We enjoyed the course and carts to ourselves. We received excellent service during our entire visit. Our rooms were okay but nothing special and no special view (we paid for rooms with a view). One room faced the woods and one room faced the water park. The website showed a lake and fountain as the view. We had tons of bugs and wasps nest on the balcony so we could not sit outside. I would definitely get different room locations next time. What was a disappointment: - total of 1 lifeguard for the entire pool area, which included three pools and a lazy river with a wave area. There is "swim at your own risk" signage, but that is NOT a family friendly environment. - there is a 1x/ day arts and crafts that you have to pay extra to do. - the other staff-led activities were bingo, movie by the pool, and karaoke. The staff was not energetic, smiling, or enthusiastic with the exception of the activities manager who led the water melon eating contest. - it rained for one of the afternoons so we all went into the conference center for games. Wow was that disappointing. The staff was sitting around at a table, no music, no explanation of the table games, not interacting with the guests. When asked they said "you can play whichever game you want, it's self service." My husband and I used our phones to at least put on music, we facilitated a game of tag, and several families had to escalate to the manager to setup the karaoke and popcorn machine because the staff in the room was literally sitting around sticking to a rigid schedule and telling us they can't set anything up until a certain time. Of course the manager said that is absolutely not true. - the staff didn't know how to work the projector for karaoke so the kids just used a laptop that the staff member had sitting on her lap. Minimal interaction etc. The events team staff (minus the supervisor) was really subpar. Easily made for a 2 rating for sure. If you want a true family getaway, the JW Marriott in San Antonio is far superior. Photo with my son and one of the disengaged staff members. I'll also say that, again, for this luxury price, the staff need branded sweaters not oversized personal apparel.

The location was easy to get to and was no more than 20 minutes from most of the places we had to visit over the week. First of all, they get five stars for accommodating us on short notice and for their customer service. In terms of the hotel, they could do some work with the plumbing. During our stay, the water would go in and out, and sometimes it would be piping hot and other times freezing cold. We stayed in room 405. Our room was great, except for the air conditioning did not work in the bedroom... It was fine everywhere else in the room. I was happy that there was a sofa bed in the room as we had an unexpected guest join us... And we were glad to be able to accommodate. However, the sofa bed mattress needs to be changed. It is so bad that if you merely sit on it, you can feel not only the springs of the mattress, but the metal bars of the sofa bed as well and that is not good when you need to get a good night's rest. Overall, the staff was very friendly. Their breakfast ends by 10 AM and if you're down there by 9:50 AM, they will be putting away the food and cleaning up around you, which I thought was a little bit strange. I figured because it was Thanksgiving week and nobody wanted to be there working that's the way it had to be. The hotel also charges $16 per night to park there. However, if you are there for five nights or more, the parking is free. If you need to park there, make sure that you get your parking permit from the front desk or your car will be towed. Other than the items I mentioned, it is a nice hotel, and it is very clean, and the housekeeping people were very accommodating and friendly. Enjoy!

My phone rang and it was the front desk guy to tell me that my neighbors complained about the a/c noise. He informed me that I had to get out of that room at that moment. I am disabled and was staying there for 8 nights, so I couldn't just pack up and go, quickly. I told him that it would take a bit and he was not OK w/that.
