As first time pool owners, we had a lot of questions. Dan assessed and fixed a small air leak in one of our valves and took time to help us better understand the basics of our pool. Our heat pump needed a complete replacement. Pool-X-Perts was priced competitively and worked with us to integrate our pool automation system as well! It was a great experience, the heat pump went in without problem, and we couldn't be happier! Lastly, a short time after the heat pump was replaced, Dan followed up to make sure everything was still working well and we were satisfied with our install -- of course we were! If they damage property they own up to it and notify you of the problem and offer to fix the issue, they even will leave you a rubber ducky when they come by to let you know they've been there. They also fixed some settling issues around the perimeter of the pool. The crew was excellent and Dominic kept me informed. The longest delay was waiting for the pavers. The only complaint I have is regarding their pool rescreening subcontractor they use. He wasn't very good as the screen often pulled out from the channel. Eventually after a number of visits the issue was fixed. My recommendation is to get someone else for the screening. Anyway, it is now 6 years later and everything is working well. I recommend Apollo pools. My job was a total makeover and they managed every aspect well. I have no complaints and would use them again.

That's the kind of customer relationship that earns long-term loyalty. Unfortunately, the past few months marked a sharp decline. A recent fill-in technician was at our home for 21 minutes -- and our cameras showed she spent at least 5 of those sitting in her car. She left debris in the pool and a pool noodle blocking the drain. When we called to report it, we were told an area manager would follow up. He did call -- but the conversation felt combative from the start. He led with GPS data as though we were disputing the visit rather than the quality of it, made excuses for the drain issue, and left us feeling like we were the problem. That's not how you speak to a five-year customer raising a legitimate concern. This week our pool pump stopped working. We called POOL Troopers and were told there's a $150 diagnostic fee -- non-refundable, even if they perform the repair. My husband noted that had never been the policy in our experience and asked to speak with a supervisor. We were told the same area manager would call us back. We called another company instead. They offered a free estimate and came the same day. We're canceling our service. Not over one bad visit -- but because the response to that visit showed us that the company we trusted for five years no longer values the customers who stayed with them. That's a shame, because the people who made us loyal in the first place genuinely deserved better representation.
