I have to call to get my pool vacuumed even though they tell me it's in my list of things that get done every week. I have watched one guy that will pull the cover back and actually vacuum the pool like they're supposed to do And then after five years they call and tell me they won't vacuum if there's a cover on the pool. Then why are you charging me to vacuum my pool? We called pool troopers for an estimate to clean the pool. Our filter pump suddenly stopped working. When the salesman arrived, he opened the metal box. Immediately I saw circuit breakers. I said, "OH wow! Circuit breakers. One of them might have tripped since we've had a lot of lightening storms. Let's reset them (turn them off then on). The salesman replied, "I already did that. It is either a relay or a loose wire. The only way to know is to get a mechanic out here."​ A few days later, the mechanic showed up, flipped the circuit breakers and the pump came on instantly! I Immediately said, "I'm furious! That is exactly what I said to the salesman and he said he had already tried it. I relied on his word. I want my money back!" The mechanic tried to appeas us by offering to setup the phone app, which we neither asked for, nor did he ever get it set up! We asked if he needed to be anywhere. He said were his only appointment for the day. We gave him $20 for his time even though he fixed nothing and never got the app running An hour after he left, we received an email stating they charged our credit card $158.69! I Immediately replied to the email stating the same thing. The manage called us. First, he apologized and said he would refund our money. I would never recommend this service to anyone. I was with them for over year and I rarely go the service I paid for. The tech's changed over all the time and lacked the training to do even the basics of the job. Many times I found the techs spending less than 10 minutes at my house and not completing all services I paid for (no brushing, vacuuming and sometimes no chemical testing). I had every visit on camera and every time I reported issues to the area manager she either came up with an excuse as to why something wasn't done or lied and said things were done. It was beyond me how you could continue to lie when I said I can see it wasn't done from my camera footage or with my own eyes standing there watching it. They are masters of ripping you off and lying to your face. Don't waste your money on this company and don't let your pool suffer because it won't get taken care of. They tried to up-charge me on everything. They tried to convince me there was a leak in my pool and I needed their scuba diver with a leak detector. Instead of testing or changing the chlorine generator they tried to sell me a whole new unit for $1700. I have no leak in my pool. I just let the rain fill it. All I need for my chlorinater was a new replacement salt separator unit which I purchased and installed myself. All they seem to do is brush the pool and test the water once a week. That is not at all what I expected. I have been taking care of this pool myself for 20 years and will now continue to do so. read more

TERRIBLE COMPANY This company pool techs and supervisors do not know what they're doing and don't care. Very long response time! I had a brand new pool and spa built. I was using planet pool cleaners then they sold to Pool troopers. Starting mid May 2022 pool troopers took over cleaning. Each time tech went out he left my pool and spa turned off. I was out of town 3 weeks. I saw it was off on security cameras. I called their office 3 days in a row until I finally got a call back. Each week a pool tech visited they left my pool and spa so it wasn't running. The spa was only half filled with water. The second time it was all left of I emailed them, left more messages it took supervisor 2 more days to just return my call and to go to my house to turn it all back on. While he was there he texted me the spa check valve needed to be replaced. I told him that's probably not correct as it's brand new and he needs to call the pool builder so he can be told what to do with this computerized Pentair pool system. I texted him pool builder name and number. He never called my builder. Spa sat there only half full for more days. Now it has water line stain from being filled up all the way. My pool builder finally went out and said that the Pool troopers supervisor doesn't know what he is doing. He said Spa doesn't have a check valve. He said they unplugged the computer from pool pump. My advice is to go with another pool cleaning company who returns urgent calls promptly and actually cares. read more

Seems I'm not the only one... Been a Pool Troopers (formerly Bay Area Pools) customer for over 5 years at one property and they did such a good job use them at our primary home for almost 3 years. I was an advocate and referred at least 5 people to them over the years. This past summer has been horrible horrible horrible and I'm a extremely patient person and understand about short staff etc. But no callbacks from manager and taking 2-3 weeks for people to come by is not acceptable with a pool. We pay extra for a pool cleaning twice a month and half the time they don't do it but they charge me like clock work. Now we have had green pool approaching a month and my tenant couldn't use the pool for their sons birthday party which is no good. We confirmed i needed a new pool motor and I went ahead and bought a new pool pump and motor system the next day but heard it will take up to 1-2 weeks for someone to come by....finally someone comes and says they can't install today because of a valve that is needed which was an extra cost which was no big deal. They install the new pool pump/motor 4 days later ...pool still green and no chemicals or anything has taken place to fix the green pool. I contacted pool troopers multiple times about this and got the same excuse they are just behind...at this point it's costing me money the longer i have a green pool. I decided to wait a few days to hear from a manager...or course no call so whatever. Calling on the next business day to cancel services ASAP because I have pool companies willing this fix this issue . These same companies know about the issues happening with pool troopers and multiple forums are experiencing issues with them. Final straw as last week...contacted customer service (all nice but no solutions). Pool troopers stops by for biweekly servicing and cleaning the guy drops salt into the green pool and sends a e-mail that the job was done. Unfortunately we have cameras (always have)on the backyard of the pool and went through the history for the summer and they did half of what they were suppose to do....disappointing Ironically at my primary residence they did they notice a leak and a tech is suppose to come by..if they take more than a week we will cancel that account also. Been patient enough and now it's costing me money due to the green pool I have to pay extra to fix before the new company will take over and my tenant won't be able to use the pool for almost a month. I will start by saying that last season they cleaned my kitchen for several months and I was very satisfied, to the point that this season I called them again thinking that I would be equally satisfied, which was not the case, in fact they have not given me salt treatment since When they started they told me that the equipment had a problem and I had just put it in new, when I called they told me that they had added salt every week, and that was not the case, never!!!!
