Attending a Sunday afternoon class was different from my normal workout schedule. I do NOT workout on Sundays. I'm glad I decided to join in with some of my workout buddies. Like I mentioned, the ride was challenging but I do feel like the 45 mins went by pretty fast. I don't know if others would agree! It was really easy for us to book a class via their website. All of that was fast and easy. Checking in was also easy with the friendly, smiling staff. If you don't own spin shoes /cleats, they offer those as well. It comes with your session. This is a top tier spin studio with excellent equipment with an inviting space. I'm pretty sure I'll take another class here soon because it was a lot of fun and a GREAT workout with friends! I had never done that type of exercises before. It's been surprising what a good workout just walking in the water provides - chest high, not wading. I have now been twice and even though it's about a twenty minute drive I plan to come on a regular basis. There are several tings that are really excellent. The women's locker room is split into one for adult women and the other iis for women and girls under 16 and boys younger than 6 (I think the boys age is correct). I also like the sign at the pool entrance area that says to shower before you get in the pool. That is such a good idea. I have only used the indoor pool so the other areas are unknown to me.

The good: the workout was great and I definitely felt it both during class and after! That's the great thing about Pure Barre, they follow the basics same format and the actual workouts are super effective. The not-so-good: 1) Studio - there were no benches to sit to take off shoes and put on socks. This may sound petty, but after a workout, it can be a challenge to stand and put our shoes on! 2) Instructor - the instructor did come up and introduce herself to me, which I appreciated, but she never came around to correct my form (which I know for sure was wrong a few times). I know I had told her I had been to PureBarre before, so I wasn't brand new, but I also told her I was relatively new. She also never asked me about injuries (which I have several) like they did at the other studio. I don't know... maybe she was just preoccupied. Also, I had a really difficult time hearing her cues. I love having the music blasting as it keeps me going, but I just couldn't hear the instructor over the music for most of the class. 3) Staff - while the gals in the front were very friendly, I didn't feel "welcomed" like I did at the other studio I went to in Florida. The two of them were busy chatting and I kinda felt like I was interrupting each time I needed to ask a question. No one showed me around the studio - I had to ask where the restroom was, where equipment was, where the front of class was, etc. And no one even asked me my name. I know, it seems like a little thing, but I just felt like "another person" and they didn't really care one way or another if I enjoyed my workout or wanted to join. I don't like to leave negative reviews and if you read my previous review for Pure Barre in Orlando, you can see how different I felt after going to that studio. Maybe I'm just not being fair by comparing this studio to that one. Maybe that studio was exceptional and maybe those instructors were a rarity with how motivating and caring they were. And maybe I got my hopes up by thinking it would the same type of experience here. I did go back to another class with a different instructor, but pretty much felt the same way about that experience. So sad because I really love the Pure Barre workouts.

Literally one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had to deal with…read more Got the membership in Feb. Around June I went to the facility for the last time. At the end of that month I moved and had to cancel. I called, the girl on the phone stated that the account was canceled. Never received an email or anything. Assumed that it had been dealt with considering I never received something about it. 4 months later in December I realized that it had been charging my account every month since then. Which I thought was odd considering the cancellation policy is only 2 months of membership past the cancellation of the account. So I call in September, a different girl on the phone told me that the account had never been canceled or even triggered to be canceled and that if it had I should have received an email. I asked her to check the email on file and she said it was correct. I check my inbox and never received anything. At this point had the cancellation been done properly I would have only paid half of what I had paid at this point. She told me there was nothing she or anyone at gym time could do. Manager was not there. And that my only option was to cancel it now and pay 2 more months. Which I thought was unfair. I told her to send the email to close the account. I ended the call. I yet again. Never received an email. Frustrated and in the middle of a breakup/move I called the bank and had them block access to my card for Gym Time. And never heard anything else except an automated message from the billing company telling me I had a balance. I eventually got another call from Gym Time and was texted and asked to call back. I called back and they basically informed me that I owed around 200$ and that they needed it now because my account was pending closure and they would just have to send it to collections. When I asked to speak to the manager and told her all of the events leading up to today she told me that none of that made sense and there was no way that could have happened the way I said it did. Again saying that this was my fault and to check my email. Said that there was no one above her that I could speak to and the best she could do was take off the late fees and have me pay the 87 dollars in missed fees in addition to two months after cancellation. Not her fault though. It's the billing company. I asked for the name of the billing company. ABC financial. When I called the billing company to get more information. I was informed that since my last date of access for the facility was in June. I was not responsible financially for any monthly fees after that month. Which was paid. The customer service lady for ABC financial also informed me that they had misspelled GMAIL in my email address in the system. So I could not have canceled at any point even if I had wanted to!!! I asked on 3 separate occasions for my email to be doubled checked. And they told me every time it was fine and that this was an issue in my end. THEY MISSPELLED GMAIL not my actual account name.... Gmail..... xxxxxxx@gmil.com That's how it was in the system. I was also informed by ABC that I should speak to Anthony. Who does not work there anymore. The billing company doesn't even have the correct information for them. When I called back and told them all of this. I was told "well we both made mistakes!" I ended up having to give them 58$ even to just wipe my hands clean of all of it. I was just so tired of the process. So 177$ I paid extra than I ever should have. Plus hours on the phone, calling the billing company for Gym Time, and essentially being called a liar, in addition to being threatened with collections. Never got an apology. 6 months of fees extra I had to pay after I initially tried to cancel the membership in order to not be sent to collections. I understand that this is the business model for gyms. It's how they make their money. But this just felt straight predatory. Especially considering how easy of a fix all of this could have been. I literally spent half of an entire year and 177$ dollars to try and get this resolved. Late June to now. Brittney the receptionist was the only person who apologized. Thanks Brittney. I know it's not your fault! This is a great gym if you never have to fix a clerical or billing error or if you never have to deal with the Manager Linda.

The owners and instructors are wonderful people and they always greet you by name. They also have a variety of classes including Barre Fusion (which is a combo of barre and yoga), yoga, circuit barre (more cardio) and ballet class (only classical ballet moves). They often have groupon specials which is great! I really like browsing in the boutique which serves as the entryway for the studio. They have workout clothes and also locally made jewelry and hair ties. Water and snacks are also available for purchase. I highly recommend taking a class (first class is free) at Grand Jete and I am sure that you will get hooked like I did!

At $20 per class I do feel the price is tad high in comparison to other group exercise classes. They do seem to offer Groupons occasionally though! If you're into Barre this is a great option!

However, the instructor was really informative and moved slowly enough for us to understand the reasoning behind what we were doing. I loved how the practice helped me zone in and be present. I also enjoyed meeting the other people in my class, there was a nice variety of genders, ages, and races. The workouts are challenging and leave me feeling accomplished but not overly exhausted. The area is always clean with a nice playlist in the background. I'm looking forward to this new mental and physical wellness journey.

They mentioned it's one of their tougher classes. Booked through ClassPass, but they offer a free first class.
