Another gem in Bend, OR. Great beer and great food coupled with a HUGE grass area for the kids to run around in = perfect way to spend a lazy afternoon. It gets busy and service can be a bit time consuming (don't want to say slow) but its not a deal breaker as its all worth the wait and are we potentially being a little too impatient? Awesome brewery. Huge beer selection - all their own. Plus some guest taps. Great food selection too. I ended up getting a guest cider and the banh mi that came with chips and salad. Went to Crux over Memorial Weekend. We sat and mingled outside for a few hours while enjoying the brews and cider, and also had tacos and a snow cone from the carts.Good vibes and nice people around. They have corn hole and lots of open space to pick your spot to post up. Bring your dogs and kids and even a blanket or chair. I will certainly return next time I'm in Bend, and hopefully will try the inside dining. read more

I went here earlier this year, and have to say that this place is awesome- the atmosphere, the beer, even the food. I was skeptical to try the chilli mac, but wow this stuff is fantastic! They also have several house made salad dressings that incorporate their beer. Service was great as well. I even had one of the chefs bring me some of my order! Next time I'm in Bend, I defnitely plan to return! read more

This place by far is the best brewery I have ever been to. Not only does this place have great beer, it's also a cool place to hangout and the setup is pretty sweet inside. First off their IPA's are all so tasty with some being a little fruiter than others and some being hopper than others. All in all every beer that i sampled from their menu was quite tasty, but their IPA's were just so well crafted you can't really go wrong. Even their unfiltered German Pilsner was absolutely crisp which makes a delicious and refreshing summer beer. Their Banished series beers are worth every penny, and def give them a shot. Great beer and super fun environment! This was part of our road trip experience and they were recommended by another Bend brewery and then a friend! Their process when busy is confusing just standing around so they could probably work on better greeting and flow when it's so busy but I went up and asked after 10 minutes and then figured it out. We did the sampler and that was bomb and we loved their Banished line of beers. Will scimitar come back when in Bend and being from LA it was a great spot and super fun vibe! read more

Came after dinner (right after sunset during brewery fest weekend) for beer for the husband and maybe dessert for me. There were lots of people inside, and good amount of people outside, but not crowded by any means. I ordered the dessert of the moment, which is a huge piece of bread pudding. That came with a pairing of beer that we asked them to switch to a stout instead. The stout turned out to be Tough Love-- it's so good, and I don't even like beer! Giving 4 stars for great beer, friendly staff, and great atmosphere. If I lived in Bend, I would come here all the time. read more

This place exceeded expectations! They have great beers, and not just focused in IPA styles. The service was good, even though they were slammed with the holiday weekend. We opted for outside seating since it was so busy inside, and were pleased to find ample seats in the sun and the shade. They have a huge yard with corn hole and washer toss. My wife ordered a very berry salad and it was a bowl of huge fresh goodness! I ordered a grilled club sandwich and it was awesome and came with great potato salad and homemade chips. I loved everything about this place. We will definitely make a stop here every time we visit bend. read more

When you stumble upon a place like Crux when you are visiting a place for the first time, it is obvious you have found a local treasure. It was plain to see this was a gathering spot for everyone. It had a sense of what I felt like Bend was all about. Out of the way hot spot located in an industrial area that has to have someone helping with parking. The first time we drove by we could not find parking it was so busy but we came back and had to see what it was all about. People from all walks of life gathered at community tables inside and out in the event tent attached. People met new friends and chatted around the fire and still others played cornhole. The food was more gourmet than normal bar fare and the beers!? YES YES AND YES.!!!! If you visit Bend for any reason, drive through it or just happen to be within 100 miles, you owe it to yourself to stop here. I filled a growler of an IPA and I am sad it's gone. I guess I will just have to go back!!! read more

Crux is great. Sitting outside on the lawn in the summertime is pretty fun, especially when they have live music and there are dogs milling about with their owners. Their food is good, not my absolute favorite in town, but good enough for me to order when I'm there with friends. Their service is really good. This place is kid friendly (major fail) and therefore make you show ID and wear and bracelet upon entry. They do not post their beers on the menu board, so you have to compete for a place to sit just to consider an order. We ordered four tasters and received four swigs of beer rather than full tasters. Apparently, if you order their "taster tray" of six, you get actual four ounce pours. What? Why? The only saving grace is that we didn't get charged. The tiny swigs had promise--I suspect the beer here might actually be good, but I may never know. read more

We stopped at Crux Fermentation Project on our way across the country from California to Boston -- best stop of the trip! The beers were outstanding -- they had just released a special edition sour beer the day before and it was phenomenal. Their samplers are generous size pours. This is a really cool place. This is me and my husband's first beer stop in Bend. I like the cheese curds, but they have a limited menu. They could use more bathrooms.
