Unfortunately, a person that he hired damaged some of our belongings, including our chest freezer that ended up needing to be replaced. Dan promised to make it right, but it's been over 5 months and there has been no resolution. I have tried not to hound, but communication is now failing. I fear he is ghosting me now and I will never see resolution.

But, believe me, Dan's company, Total Movers, went above and beyond our expectations! They were promptly on time, loaded up efficiently, arrived at the new location and unloaded just as well. I was impressed with how carefully they wrapped our precious items and were very careful when going through doorways and by the walls. Price was very fair as well. Moved a three bedroom house from London ON to Kingston ON. Cannot say enough good things!…read more Gary came a did a walk through of the house to get us our quote, very organized and official, polite and easy to work with. Quote seemed quite reasonable so we went ahead. Was is the cheapest one I found? No. But it was the most reliable - the others I had gotten couldn't guarantee me getting all my belongings in one truck, or the turn around time, so the final quote seemed like so much of a mystery. With AMJ, I at least felt I knew exactly what cost I was signing up for. Jason showed up on the arranged day bright and early with the truck and his team (two additional gents), they worked their butts off getting the truck loaded that day. The furniture was exquisitely handled, everything gently disassembled and fully wrapped and placed in the trucks. They were even more careful with our expensive frames and artwork. They pulled through for me and managed to make delivery the following day, doing me a *huge* favour since I couldn't be in Kingston for more than two days for delivery. Jason again showed up promptly at the agreed upon time the following day for delivery with the team (just one fellow employee with him on the delivery end). Weight came in under the quote, lovely surprise! We settled up the bill and again they busted their butts getting the truck unloaded. It was already a super long day so we agreed amongst ourselves to wrap up around 6 pm and leave the last few things for the following morning. Even managed to dodge a ridiculously rain/hail storm. Final day, they arrive bright and early, we finish the unload. Everything was gently placed in the house, absolutely everything was re-assembled. They tripled checked making sure I had everything and was happy with where everything was placed in the new digs. Zero damage, nothing lost. Honesty, I was so nervous about this move, there's so many scary stories and reviews out there. I could not be happier with how this move went. I already know I have another 2-3 hr city-to-city move in 2 years and 100% will be getting back in touch with AMJ. Two huge thumbs up!

THEY HAVE HIDDEN FEES AND LIE TO YOUR FACE AND TALK ABOUT YOU IN ANOTHER LANGUAGE. Absolutely…read moreunprofessional. Yesterday, I was supposed to accept delivery of a couch on behalf of my partner, whose name is on all the paperwork, because she was busy getting home from work. They almost gave me the wrong couch, even fully unloading it from the truck and I had to have them check their paperwork. When they did they realized it was the wrong one and unloaded the proper one. They got it inside and asked me if they wanted them to put on the legs of the couch. I asked, what do need to do for that? They just kept saying "you need a machine" which sounded vague and suspicious. So they twist on the sofa legs. The "machine" is a cordless screwdriver. They then discover they don't need to use the "machine," they only needed to be twisted on. Apparently it's $25 to twist on some plastic legs! Anyways, when it was time to settle up I asked for their e-transfer information. They started asking me for money *right now*, despite my name not being on the paperwork. At this point I've said "I am just here to accept the delivery" over 10 times. They got all huffy and so I paid them what I could--despite not being on the hook for any of this stuff. They had asked for like $140 and I could only give them $119 so I did. I had also told them if they waited 10-20 minutes my partner would be back and she would pay them in full--this was ignored every time. So the short guy calls up his boss and is talking to him and suddenly hands me the phone. Their boss is telling me "these guys can't come back for $20, that's not reasonable, so many people do this and i have a huge debt from it." Just after this my partner arrived home and settled the issue, giving them their extra $20 so they would go. As someone simply accepting delivery of a couch I had no reason to be talking to their asshole boss or treated like I am stealing or them talking about me in another language, but that's what happened. Prestige is a third-party delivery group used by Surplus Furniture Warehouse. Beware of them! They will try to talk you into things you don't need. My partner and I were quoted $80 from the furniture place for delivery. When they showed up it was $100. Then they tagged on $25 for "putting on the legs" which just needed to be twisted on (they lied to me about this). I don't know how it got to $140. If they wanted a tip or extra this is NOT how you get it! Zero stars. If you're the boss reading this fuck you, guy!
