It was a matter of days before our oldest came home with bite marks on several occasions, in addition to other injuries at the hands of other students. Most recently he was hit in the face that resulted in a swollen handprint on the side of his face, and kicked in the face during story time the very next day which split his lip open. Our youngest - 18 months at the time - was repeatedly bit in his classroom, leaving very defined and swollen bite marks, some of which broke the skin. He was scratched across his face and neck, and given a black eye by another child who hit him with a toy. Several bites and other injuries went unnoticed by teachers who had no idea our child was injured when we inquired about what had lead to the incidents. These incidents happened in the matter of 3 weeks. The administration of this school is defiant in their approach to ensuring the safety of kids in their classroom. We repeatedly asked for changes to be made to prevent our kids from getting hurt, only to be met with opposition and called liars by the assistant director Kaitlyn Japikse and owner Mark Reinhart. The teachers who assisted us were promptly reassigned to different rooms that were not of their choosing out of retaliation from the owner. Mark and his staff do not follow any disciplinary action plans, document the children who cause injury and refuse to remove kids from the room due to their belief it does not reinforce positive behaviors and violent behavior is "developmentally / age appropriate". Mark will also tell you to take your kids to a different school / disenroll you if you do not agree with their approach that severe injuries in their classrooms are developmentally appropriate and the result of normal childhood behavior. The disgraceful treatment of families by Mark goes against everything this school states they advocate for and we would not recommend this school to anyone.

We were so excited to start our boys at Goddard School. Until about 6 months in for our first and 3…read moremonths in with our second, we were asked to leave the school. Our childern were getting hurt almost daily. They were bit, hit, scratched by other students. Our youngest was only 18 months old and couldn't communicate, most of the bites were going unnoticed by the school and when asked about it, the teachers or administrators couldn't tell us what happened. Incident reports were not filed and the biting students parents were not notified. We were also told that the other parents wouldn't be told about the incident unless the skin was broken, because they didn't want that student to have a negative connotation with school. How does my child feel when they are afraid to go to school because they are getting hurt by those that are supposed to be their "friends"? Our last day there, my oldest was kicked in the face left with a busted lip during circle time because the other child tripped over my child's legs. And the aggressor was just left to continue this behavior because according to the administrator, these children do not have impulse control and are unable to understand their actions. Meanwhile they are potty training these 3-4 year olds? When asking for help and assistance time and time again, we were the ones that were asked to leave. The administration continually asked us for our suggestions on how to handle the situations and while we are not the professionals in early childhood education, recommended additional resources and were immediately fought with talks of budgets and how that's not possible. The owner offered to refund us our money so we left (granted we paid a fee to get on the waiting list for a year for this program) we were not refunded our fee, our refund was "prorated" in a way that benefited only the owner. The ratios for "student to teacher" is insane and leads to a chaotic, stressful environment for both the teachers and the students. The owner retaliates against any teacher (and parents) who feel differently than him. He moves teachers to other rooms they do not want to be in or suggests they leave. He has blocked us from the Facebook business page so we are not able to leave reviews there.

By Tuesday of the following week David Flautt had arranged for us to tour some great facilities he had identified using the information I'd shared. Having him with us on the tours helped us feel confident we were asking all the right questions. With David's expert help we were able to find the perfect place in record time. David not only helped us to explore the best available options based on our needs he also provided invaluable information about things we needed to keep in mind as we went through the process of choosing a place and how to make it happen. We learned that some of the things we had been worried about were not really issues. He made us aware of things we had not even thought about that we needed to know. Now only a month later, my mom is happily getting settled into her perfect new home. I can't say enough good things about David and about Assisted Living Locators.

Their staff are not required to wear masks, even the infant and toddler rooms. This is the email I sent and as a result, we were removed for: "For a second time (in two months), due to actions of your staff, my child's classroom is closed. As your staff continues to test positive for COVID, my husband and I have to take off from work. We placed Amari in daycare because we have jobs. It doesn't make much sense to send her to daycare when we continue to need to stay home with her. What's worse is we are expected to pay full tuition on weeks she is not there full time. Where is the logic? I am home changing diapers, preparing food, keeping her occupied and losing money from my place of work while I continue to fund yours for doing NOTHING. I expect that there will be some reimbursement for parents who are losing time and money as a result of your reckless staff. Either our tuition should be prorated for such weeks or additional vacation days should be given. I was told that there would be a conversation with the owner, however, after almost two years in a pandemic, there should be something in place. If you're not going to ensure our babies are safe, you could at least stop robbing us at the same time."

Long story short, I am on active duty and mom is a disabled vet herself with 2 kids and we were…read moreinvolved in a very serious car accident (vehicle rolled multiple times type serious) and mom was severely injured from it (paralyzed). My daughter suffers from serious anxiety brought on from the accident (mind you she was three when it occurred) and had just turned 4 when we enrolled her at this daycare. During this time her anxiety finally started surfacing and as a fresh 4 year old she doesn't know how to handle it and it comes out as to be expected for a 4 year old. I don't say that to be used as an excuse for her behavior but it at least gives understanding as to why she began acting out.m, she was being triggered and didn't know how to handle those triggers. As good parents should, we informed them that she is suffering from anxiety once we understood what was going on and we told them we are trying to find ways to help her. To clarify, before the anxiety, my daughter was never a problem child in daycare, never been called about being upset, mean, or violent towards any other child or staff. The last straw for me was a situation I had no control over whatsoever. After a couple of weeks of trying to work with them to help find a way to get my daughter situated because they kept making comments like, "maybe this isn't the right daycare for your daughter," I pretty much was asking them to help us figure out something before you try and kick my daughter out because kicking her out isn't the answer nor is expecting her to transition to a third day care within 6 months going to help the matter. During this time mom was out of town up in Cleveland getting fitted for her power chair when one morning she had a significant health scare that would hospitalize her for a month, the same morning I was supposed to have a meeting with the staff to discuss options for my daughter. So I had to get on the road that morning to go see her and when I dropped my daughter off I explained to them what had happened and her grandparents would be picking her up and asked them to revisit the meeting when I returned and to hold off on doing anything with my daughter (such as kicking her out). That same morning driving up to Cleveland I get a call from my mother-in-law that they were kicking her out of daycare!!! Can you say furious! When I returned I went straight to the daycare to find out what happened and they were like we can't handle her and will not tolerate her acting out and being violent with staff. So I asked instead of asking us to keep her home for s few days or something to try and figure how to help her you decided to kick her out while we were dealing with my wife's health after her brain essentially shut down! They tried to offer some "daycare" program that focuses on kids with behavioral problems and that if she passes their program they'll be willing to take her back. I the asked do they not have staff like other daycares that whose sole purpose is to help with kids in need and the simple answer was no. I called this place up that they offered and guess what, they don't accept my insurance and when I asked how much do they charge, it is a $600 per day program!!! So not only did they kick my daughter out at the most inopportune time, but they don't even know the requirements of the place they recommend, and now my daughter has nowhere to go and I can't go to work! This all happened February of 2023, we couldn't find and get our daughter back into a daycare until that May!! My daughter was and is dealing with something that even grown adults struggle with controlling and this is how they handled it. This is why I give this daycare the rating I did and it needs to be known that if your child has special needs that may cause a problem or disturbance, do not expect them to go the extra mile to try and help figure out a way to make it easier on everyone. Due to allotted length I had to trim up a lot but hopefully you get the picture.
