Instead to they decided to would take it upon themselves to detach a 500 gal tank, with propane in it, that was attached to my home, and the only heat source in the middle of December on a 15 degree day. mind you this was propane, that I have already purchased. NO call, NO knock on the door. When I realized the tank was gone, I immediately called the office, and they claimed that I asked for them to take the tank! They said the tank is in their yard now, and good luck, there nothing they are willing to do for us. NO remorse, NO apology for their mistake, and NO solution to fix the problem. In the meantime, any other propane company is 2 weeks out on installation, and my house and children are freezing, for no apparent reason, nothing more than a clerical error. I like their monthly payment plan so that you do not have to pay a lump sum to fill your tank. They can tell your gas level remotely which is convenient. Our neighborhood switched to natural gas and they paid me back a prorated amount for the gas left in my tank which was nice.

Left my number three different times for a call back never received it when I finally got through and paid the $700 for a fill on November 20th today is December 1st and we are still waiting for that delivery to arrive. They are easy to deal with, the office staff is pleasant, and they pricing is typically at or very near the lowest. Propane supply has a lot of game players with mystery fees and other strange practices. Office staff are sometime brusque and unpleasant; prices are often a big negotiation. I've not experienced this with Johnson, and it's one of the reasons I keep coming back.

This was pretty good before they were bought by AmeriGas. Ordered propane well in advance, delivery…read moreday came and due to rain storm the night before and ice the next, driver couldn't make it up the driveway. Had an operator tell me they couldn't hear me after 2 calls and hang up both times, yet everyone else could hear me fine. Main office told us they can get us on for the next day if we cleared up the driveway. Cleared driveway and called to ensure we were on the route the next day. No accommodations were made as said previously. was told they would get us in as we already prepaid for the delivery. At 4pm called again to check as I was told I would receive a call as per delivery and no call was made. Was told it would take an extra week now instead of as described before. Wife called later and spoke to a "manager" that the customer service representative was previously saying was unavailable and got the same "we cant hear you" schtick. After this gets delivered we plan to switch companies.

We recently had Holton LP Gas deliver propane to a location near Big Rapids. The very same week we…read morehad propane delivered to our business and our residence near Hopkins by other propane companies. Holton's LP Gas charged us $2.789 per gallon and the other companies were at $1.75 per gallon and $1.49 per gallon. I also checked the average rate of propane that particular week with the State of Michigan and was told it averaged $2.008 per gallon - NOT the $2.789 Holton was charging. When I contacted them, they simply told me their price was set by their corporate company. It looks to me like their corporate company is cheating the public with their pricing. We will never deal with them again, and hopefully others will learn from our experience!!

We had about 60% propane in one of Holtons tank from previous owner. This is a seasonal house just…read morepurchased last spring. Had to deal with some heart issues last winter and we never were able to go up to the house last winter. This spring i seen it was 60%, came by a month later and the tank and gas was gone. Called Holtons asked what was going on and they told me that they knew the house was sold and since their was no activity on the account they sneaked in and took gas and tank. I would think that if you knew the house was sold that the new owner would obviously be a prospective buyer? Well I know what I think of losing $200 in propane, but i guess if you can take it back in certain situations and make an extra $200, doesn't sound like good business ethics to me.
