Great Venue!!! We attended a Christmas luncheon at the Crystal Grand Banquet. The staff was very welcoming and inviting. We had guests from 3 months to 97 year old and this was a perfect setting. Easy access, parking and what a grand setting. We had family style and the food was hot and delicious. The servers were over the top helpful and friendly despite possibly being short staffed. This place is beautiful on the inside and out! It is very spacious and elegant. I went here for a party and was impressed the moment we pulled up. The venue isn't around a busy area which is good and it was easy to locate via gps. It's great for weddings and big gatherings but could be considered to big for small events. The food was ok (the menu might very depending on their event packages) and the staff was professional and attentive. I wish I could give this banquet hall 0 stars. The service and quality has completely deteriorated, and will continue to go down. I hosted a party 2 years ago and after having my 2nd party here, I will never host ever again or even come back as a guest. The lack of professionalism from the staff and owner trickles down into the employees who looked miserable during the party and conveyed their attitudes towards myself and my guests. The quality and service from 2 years ago has became so horrible. The food was absolute below average. The pork cutlets were either a day old or so poorly made that they dried out/and were burnt to the point that you could barely eat them. Other meats tasted as if they were just boiled and tossed in sauces. 65 per person on a Saturday is not worth terrible food. My previous party was astounding and I could not wait to come back - I regret my choice now and will never be back. I will highly recommend other banquet halls in the area over this one. Consistency is important in continuing to have a great banquet hall and these owners have not done that. They treat others differently and didn't even give me the bare minimum - so much was missing from my party. Water pitchers, glasses for soda/water, wine that was included in the party package. Came down for a Big (Not Greek) Family Wedding, must say the the venue did not disappoint. Over 500? Guests, Plenty of appetizers to go around, from Deli Meats to Various Cheeses (Polish Highlander Cuisine-Yum) with plenty of Fresh cut Sushi's & Sashimi to go around. Staff was attentive and professional. I asked for a few things out of the ordinary and they were very accommodating & attentive. Dinner was family style, with soup and salad. The soup was super hot and tasty. Salad was just that a salad. The bread, were served covered & warm. The food was very good overall, mashed potatoes, sauerkraut, beef in gravy, chicken kiev, fried pork cutlet, dumplings.... I enjoyed the mashed potatoes, sauerkraut and pork & Kiev were hot and moist. Desserts (If you had room) were plentiful. Coffee was bland- typical beverage faire. Looking forward to coming here again, If I need to travel to the south suburbs, this is a lovely & enjoyable venue. Cheers! read more

The appearance of the building and venue is very nice with plenty of parking, but the food was terrible. The roast beef and chicken were tough, boxed mashed potatoes were stiff and dry, veggies were unseasoned and tasteless. Guests commented about picking up fast food on the way home because they couldn't eat the meal provided. The worst meal I have ever had at a banquet hall. Almost inedible. Reason for this review is how they handled the dessert table, no napkins, no little plates, and more importantly nothing to pick up the desserts with, crowd of 200 people picking up cookies, dessert bars etc with their hands. I was invited to a wedding reception that was held at this banquet hall. Ample parking in the lot, nicely manicured lawn and a lovely little pool are its only outside decorations. The food was simple and served family style. Everything came out hot and in a timely manner. Dessert was cake served with a mocha/coffee flavored ice cream. Crystal Grand Banquet's was the best choice I ever made for my wedding. This hall is beautiful, budget friendly, friendly staff, very helpful, and everything you could ask for in a hall. Food: (This is the list of food we had.. Family Style) We had the fruit cup, salad (I loved it), We opted for red potatoes instead of mash.. I would do that, I couldn't stop eating the red potatoes, mostaccioli with Italian sausage (That was almost everyone's favorite dish), then we had Roast Chicken with Rice (Gluten free and super delicious), and the fried chicken (I would pick a different meat), and then they served our cake with a scoop of vanilla icecream. Now let me ask you something... You know when the food is good, when the servers have to keep refilling the dishes.. I was very happy with the food! Also everything was served on time, no delays. They also gave us the extra food at the end of the night, since a few people didn't end up showing up. Budget: This was one of the most budget friendly banquet halls I went too, and I researched a lot. I opted for Sunday, which had no minimum for that day which saves you money. They also gave you an additional $10 bucks off each person, kids were cheaper (which I didn't find at a lot of places), and they let me have the ceremony there for no extra cost, and gave me an additional 30 minutes to my package. Great place for a budget friendly wedding! They were so accommodating at every aspect, they pushed my ceremony/reception an hour early so it was 5-11 PM to make the best of everything, they let us have our ceremony rehearsal when I needed it, they were very fast at answering all my questions, and they were very nice. Beautiful hall, and I loved that I had a separate bathroom. I didn't have the time to do my table numbers, and last minute they accommodated me and followed my diagram for how many people were seated at each table, I just couldn't of asked for anything better. I was here for a wedding. The place looks great, nice lighting, outdoor is very nice with decent landscaping. Food is comparable to any other European (more Polish than anything else) banquet that I have been to .. about 4 or 5. Over cooked frozen veggies, sauced up meats, roasted potatoes. I guess I am just saying that make sure you aren't paying a lot more for a nicer venue when the food tastes and looks the same. Service was decent. They had their busboy guy take down the center cake table during dinner. Wish he was dressed a little nicer. He just looked pretty horrible in baggy jeans and a t-shirt while everyone else is dressed up... at least black pants or something. read more

I attended a large wedding here and had a great time! The venue itself is nice- pretty up-lighting, nicely decorated, and everything is in good condition. The venue has two rooms- the Crystal and Grand banquet hall, with the option to become one large room based on how many guests you are having. This wedding had 350 people, but with the room totally open, it didn't feel like it. They had both bars open so the line was never more than a person or two before it was our turn. The dance floor is nice and long too, so there was plenty of room to boogie (even with the room at a half size it'd be nice and big)! The wedding had an epic appetizer buffet with tons and tons of choices including two huge baskets of sausages! Lots to choose from. They also had an epic dessert table, but I'm not sure if that came from the hall? If it did, those were also fantastic. Dinner was family style, with soup and salad. The soup was super hot (YAY!) and good. Salad was pretty lackluster though. The bread wasn't overly fresh, either. The food was really good overall- mashed potatoes, sauerkraut, beef in gravy, chicken kiev, fried pork cutlet, dumplings... I loved the mashed potatoes, sauerkraut and pork (even though the pork was a bit dry). The servers were also all very polite and professional! This is a great option for an event! read more

I just had my wedding here and was overall very pleased. My wife and I picked the venue because we were impressed with how much they do in-house for the value. We paid per guest for a package that included a family-style meal and open bar, plus a little extra for passed apps during our cocktail hour and some uplighting. Included in that was all of the table decor with beautiful flowered centerpieces, plus the staff coordinated all set-up and take down, including our check-in table and sweets table (and we were able to drop off our extra decor items a couple of days in advance and pick them up the day after, which was very helpful). We were pleased with communication and service throughout the planning process, although I'll say that they didn't seem to want to finalize any details (menu, color of table decorations, etc.) until the last minute. I'm sure that's related to the sheer number of events they execute, but for us, we would have liked to be able to settle that a little farther in advance than the week before the wedding. Our guests said they enjoyed the food, and there was plenty of it. We ordered the broccoli soup, chicken and rice, sausage and peppers, and mostaccioli with meat sauce. The soup was a big hit, along with the mashed potatoes and the coffee service. The venue provided a meatless mostaccioli for my vegetarian guests, but I do wish they had another veggie entree option. We ended up supplementing by ordering some eggplant parmesan from the next door Mama D's, which Crystal Grand served for us. Guests also loved the Polish beer at the bar and said the venue decor (lots of chandeliers) was beautiful. My one big frustration is that we were told the event prior to ours would end at 3 pm and we would have access at 3:30 pm for our 5 pm wedding. We showed up at 3:30 and the other event was still going on. I went to get ready in the bridal room but had to deal with people from the other event coming in and out to collect their things. My guests started arriving around 4:30 as directed, but weren't able to get into our ballroom until right at 5, and it made the check-in process a mess because of the crowd. That said, I was impressed by how quickly the staff turned the room over in the time they had, and the rest of the night went pretty smoothly. I'm a wedding photographer. I've shot dozens of weddings all over the country, and I have literally never experienced such an unorganized venue. The staff is completely apathetic to anyone's complaints. I had to go into the kitchen to even find someone to complain to. No one knew where they were supposed to go, the curtains behind the archway and sweetheart table were filthy, the dj had major feedback on their speakers, and no one could hear the speeches. The woman I complained to said to me, "That's not us, that's the djs responsibility." If you are looking for a venue stay far away from this place. They don't give a shit about their customers. read more

I was there last night for my best friend's wedding & soooooo many things went wrong because of them: 1) they lost half of the escort cards, 2) they lost the table numbers, which belonged to them & is just ridiculous that they got lost, 3) THERE WERE FUCKING ANTS ON THE PLATES, & 4) the non-ant covered food was disgustingly bland. I will never come back here regardless of the event taking place, nor will I ever recommend this shit hole. If I ever hear that someone is considering hosting an event here, I will do all that I can to talk them out of it. read more

Attended a shower here. The room was very cold. Terrible service. The two servers were not to be seen unless they were putting the food on the tables. We had to clear our own tables by taking our plates to the bar because the servers weren't around. As we were eating our desserts we wanted our coffee pot refilled. One of the guests actually had to go into the kitchen to find the servers and ask for coffee. The server brought out a half filled luke warm coffee pot. We also had to ask for more water. read more

Had our wedding here a few months back. The crew was very accommodating and easy to work with. Pretty hall, good wedding food, everyone had a blast. Only complaint was the wedding next door. I had asked multiple times to make sure their dj was opposite walls (or whatever it was supposed to be) so it wouldn't interfere. They weren't opposite on the day of. Had a problem with hearing their music for a brief moment but our dj handled. The wedding next door had a couple obnoxious trashy guests that tried to interfere with mine outside but luckily I didn't hear about it until after. So maybe there should be security there at night, my only request..... overall I would definitely recommend an event here. read more

Staff can be more attentive towards guests and give more service instead of just serving the food and then disappear after for a while until the next dish comes out. Beautiful hall and decent pricing. Had my wedding there April 2015 (my wedding started at 6pm-12am) they over booked the venue so my florist and design team weren't able to decorate an hour before so wedding had to start later until everything was decorated. We had 20 more guests come then expected and managers had an issue with putting more tables down. They also could accommodate more food for 2 more tables. They had an issue with turning the lights down during my slow dance and having my and my husbands name in lights on the dance floor. Overall a beautiful hall but management needs to work on adhering special requests. read more

My husband and I had our wedding luncheon at Crystal Grand in October. We were so pleased with the service we received. Stan, The owner was extremely nice to work with and flexible. With all the hectic planning, I forgot to call a week before the wedding to finalize our menu. Well I didn't have to worry because they called us! Working with people like this to make the most important day of your life perfect, just makes it a whole lot easier. Our lunch was scheduled for 12:30pm but we were running 1 hour behind. Crystal Grand did everything to accommodate us in a non-rushed manner. Also, we had more guests that anticipated at the lunch and they had enough food for us and still managed to get the food served quickly! They were extremely organized and dedicated to making our day run flawless. Food was very good and fresh. We will continue to recommend Crystal Grand to our family and friends for future events. I came here for a friend's daughter's sweet 16th birthday party and the place is really nice and they had plenty of space which was sectioned off for my friend's party and a wedding next door. So they were able to accomodate the number of people for each event and its clean with plenty of parking, but you have to plan your event to accomodate the amount of parking spaces available and to also keep in mind of other events they have booked there. I was very impressed with how their waitstaff was very professional and friendly and really made the evening memorable. I am seriously considering having my wedding reception there since it's not in downtown Chicago where it will cost more and the parking isnt the greatest since you would have to pay to park which many people are not going to do giving how high it costs to park in downtown Chicago. It's situated in a small suburb just outside and west of Chicago called Lemont. It's worth it if you're looking for a place where parking is free and you can have a great event without too much of a hassle. read more

Crystal Grand is a very nice facility. The staff was attentive and very professional.. The food was "OK", nothing special. While our guest were celebrating on one side another party was taking place on the other side and their music was so loud that you couldn't hear our guest when they came to the stage to toast the honorees. The dividing wall is not sound proof. Perhaps if they would have strategically coordinated the rooms so that the speakers were on opposite walls it may have made a difference. All in all, our event was great and our guest enjoyed themselves. read more
