Yes, I was impressed with the facility, but the event was essentially a collection of local young businesses and start-up businesses gathered to showcase their products, very similar to the Shop Local event at the Lakefront Brewery but with a few more vendors. Some of my favorites were Leaves Floral Design LLC. I bought a handmade candle and also left with a beautiful plant that I've already delivered to my mom, and she loves it (I know, awwwwwwe - yup). Next up was Debby's Sweets and Treats. Debby makes chocolates out of her kitchen with the hopes of having her own store some day. My item of choice that I purchased was the Craisin Almond Bark, made with white chocolate. YUM! I also bought a Chocolate Peanut Butter cupcake from O' What a Day Cafe Gourmet Cupcakes. Another start-up out of a kitchen but seems closer to opening a store front in Oconomowoc. This cupcake was moist and delicious. Not quite as good as the one I had from the Milwaukee Cupcake Company, but still pretty good and could hold its own in a taste test. I would certainly by another. Their were other vendors with jewelery, clothing, uniquely designed wine bottles and wine glasses (some with lights in them!) and distributors for products like Dove chocolates and Wildtree All Natural Culinary Blends and oils, with a focus on variations of grape seed oil. All in all a very well-organized event with plenty of vendors to get a chunk knocked off of your shopping list, and it was in a really nice facility. I rarely go to Oak Creek because it is a bit of a drive for me, but this event was worth the drive. Kudos!

This place is such a fun mix on the usual Friday or Saturday night activity for a date or a small…read moregroup. I went here on a date and it was an absolute blast. He signed us up for a time on a Friday night and it was completely packed. We got there early to grab a drink and scope out the props for our hole. They have a full bar and so many fun and random props to create your hole. It's a lot of fun to see the creative side of everyone. You have around an hour to design your hole and another hour then to play all of the other holes. My one tidbit on this was I think we could have used a little less time to design and more to play the holes, because we weren't able to finish all of them. Overall, I would definitely come back here. I think I would recommend not to have too large of a group, because that's what makes it take longer for each hole.

You can't leave food out that we paid for, especially if it's not a health concern? Maybe provide boxes so people could take things home? Wasteful and disappointing. The pizza and garlic bread got the best reviews. Cheese and veggie tray were what you'd expect. The staff behind the bar were friendly and quick to help, but I wasn't a fan of the demo provider. Spoke quietly and was upset that the group couldn't hear him though it was pretty full in the event space with another party who was already underway. The idea was unique enough but you'll need extra time to set up the courses. Overall, not impressed with this venue. Recommend any other Bars and Rec instead.

There's plenty of room for tables, a DJ, and a dancefloor and you can bring in your own vendors, which was perfect for our friends. There is a small bar area just outside of the main room, which was a great space if you wanted to talk as the separation allows conversation to flow a little easier but also a space to welcome your guests. My understanding is that you have to wrap things up by 11 p.m. so that may be a deal breaker for some hardcore partiers but otherwise this was a great space with plentiful street parking (unless there's a Bucks game going on, then it may be a bit more of a challenge) in the area, too.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time intermixing yoga wellness with playful, adorable puppies. Phenomenal…read moreenergy! Great fun! A cool music Playlist for our yoga session. At times a bit of a challenge to partake in a single standing leg yoga pose while puppies are nipping at the seam of my socks. At one point, 3 puppies decided to tag team me as I laid flat on my yoga mat. As I attempted to create a calming pose and center myself...the puppies decided they had other plans for me. My hair bun became undone by a puppy tug as I simultaneously almost lost a pearl earring to another puppy. As I laid flat, I gently pulled one of the puppies onto my chest for cuddles and I received a kiss. They had great fun with playing tug of war with my yoga towel. There was a photographer capturing candid shots of us with the puppies. We were offered assistance with taking pictures on our phones. A few of us were handed puppies by one of the puppy assistants. The staff was great with sanitizing any spills from the puppies. Toward the end of the session, I noticed the puppies tired themselves out and were being cradled by a few attendees. Genius idea of puppy yoga!

First of all I must start my review by saying this was not my idea to AXE throw on Sunday, however…read moreI had family in town and they wanted to try it. This isn't even anything that I would ever put on a bucket list. I am fairly coordinated, but being a female and not having a lot of upper body strength I would definitely not recommend trying this. It is about $25 for an hour on a lane. There is a waiver that needs to be read over and signed. One of the employees went through all of the rules, showing us the AXE how to stand, placement of your hands on the AXE. He explained how to remove the AXE once it sticks in the wood. I felt that the employee actually should have shown us an example of how to throw the AXE. He said for insurance reasons he was not allowed to do this and said that each of us could have a test turn at how to throw. He would critique our position, how we were holding it. What line to stand behind and how to step forward to throw it. Thank God that I had beverage to drink because after my test throw, and then attempting to throw again, without any success I was starting to get so frustrated. I actually was mad that I spent the money to do this and not to have had any success with hitting anything. Each person gets 5 turns to throw and then the next person gets their turn. After half an hour I was done and never cared if I ever stepped foot into another AXE throwing place again. I honestly don't know what the big attraction is with wanting to do this. Maybe it is a guy thing. I have no idea. I now can say I tried it, I suck, and I am done trying again. I noticed they had a decent menu with a variety of drinks and even some nice appetizers. I would rather play mini golf then try to throw an AXE, at a painted target, on splintered wood. There is signage indicating the point system and how to score, along with a bucket of small mini golf size pencils so that you can keep score. There is a ship bell, near the wall, this gets rung when you hit a bulls eye. One of your teammates will ring it signifying that you don't suck. The music in the background was upbeat and a great variety. The people in there were very nice and could tell that I was frustrated. They said don't worry you will eventually get it, it takes a lot of practice. I say No thank you I am not interested in every practicing how to throw an AXE again. Now if you are up for a challenge, and in the MKE area then maybe this is something that you would enjoy. I recommend wearing comfortable clothes. I was dressed up since we met up with family, from out of town, and were going to dinner. Maybe I would have hit the board if I were more comfortable. Whatever excuse I use I can say I tried and I failed miserably. It was an expensive thing to try.

AXE MKE is a very fun place to spend a little time and I want to try and come back with my team at some point in the future. Our friends took care of the reservations so I can't speak to that piece but once we got our waivers signed, we were assigned a lane and a...lumberjill? that would walk us through the process and technique. Madison was incredibly friendly and really set the tone for our time at AXE MKE, shout out to her! While we had mixed results with the actual chucking of the hatchets at the wood, we all had a blast. Those that drink said that the beverages were tasty and the pretzel board that we had was both tasty and a good value. Will definitely be back!
