I couldn't believe what my oldest learned. He was the first in his K class to count to 100 and he was able to add, subtract, and multiply by the time he was in K. My oldest son's two best friends are friends that he met 3-4 years ago from preschool. Some of the families have become like second families to us while we don't see others as often it's still so fun to see each other at sporting events or out and about. I won't say that the transition to public school was smooth for my oldest son because he just wanted to go back to preschool. But I really don't see that as a bad thing. When I had questions about education for my eldest Lynn gave me the most helpful assessment of my son's educational needs that I've ever received. So while it's only a year or two of my kids life it really feels like it has had a lasting positive ripple effect and I'm so glad my kids have this important opportunity to be little.

As I see the pictures and videos the school provides daily, chat casually with the teachers at pickup, and observe in our home life, I am seeing my "baby" grow into a confident, thoughtful boy who can apply reason and empathy, modulate his responses, and make good choices in his daily life. I attended their open house to see if the school would be a good fit for my son. We entered through the back gate and from the start I noticed I was being looked over. I figured it was because I looked somewhat sloppy carrying my infant in the carrier and haven't had the chance to change in order to make it on time. I was wrong. This was during the pandemic when masks were required indoors. All parents arrived with masks, but upon seeing the staff not wearing them, they also removed them. I attended with my toddler and infant who cannot be vaccinated, so we were also wearing masks and we did not remove them. Quickly, we became the only people wearing masks. When I asked if masks would be worn indoors, I was told no. Again, this was during a time when wearing masks was the safety guidance. I told the staff that I wasn't sure this would be the best fit, and she told me there were plenty of other preschools for my child. That's it. In no more than five minutes, I was bullied, made to feel uncomfortable, and told to leave. I left fuming. I could not believe she would 1. violate safety guidelines. 2. jeopardize the safety of my children. 3. tell me to go somewhere else rather than explain her reasoning. Also, this was done in plain view of other parents quickly setting the tone for the rest of the tour and establishing the type of treatment that is acceptable at this school. Obviously, I left. Looking back, she did me a favor as this is not the kind of environment I would want for my child. I have no doubt that what other parents have said in their posts is honest as the bullying behavior by the staff was in plain view with me. I am left feeling sad about what children are learning at this school about the treatment of others, and about their role in a community. This school is a detriment to all of Lincoln.

Mrs Kim and Sam in the front office are always dressed up in costumes participating with different themes and events. There were times Harlow would have bad days in the morning being so little and they would fix them. Goddard is always decorated and they do so many fun activities with the kids! They do parties, holiday events, train rides, music mat, soccer, kona ice, yoga, trunk or treat, book fairs, picture days, water days, a Christmas recital and so much more. So much thought, energy and time goes into everything they do. Goddard leaves no one out, every culture and family is celebrated. The communication at the school is fantastic. They communicate with an app and send pictures daily.Even their snacks are amazing. Harlow never wanted to leave when we would pick her up. She always had new art to show us. Their curriculum is top tier. Harlow grew so much accodemicaly. Mrs Tabatha is why Harlow is potty trained and took naps. She thought her to share and start to read. Harlow loves her and has a picture she drew her up on our fridge. I wish we could keep her there forever. I cried when we moved her to public school this year. You get what you pay for. We sent both of our children to The Goddard School until recently. Overall, we are very thankful to…read moremany of the teachers and staff who cared for our children and genuinely tried their best. Unfortunately, the reason we ultimately decided to leave was because we no longer felt our children were safe. We had ongoing concerns regarding repeated aggressive behavior involving the same student. From our perspective, the school's ownership and management did not adequately address the situation despite multiple incidents and conversations. We tried to be part of the solution. We met with the owner, Dee, and even offered to personally pay for a behaviorist to come to the school and provide professional support. We also suggested creating a resource board to help connect families with behavioral specialists and other services. Instead, we learned that the student was being moved between classrooms rather than the situation being effectively resolved. On one particularly upsetting day, our son was physically hurt four separate times. To our knowledge, no child was sent home as a result. Initially, Lisa led us to believe that the problem might have been specific to the relationship between this child and our son. However, after speaking with other parents, we learned that other families had experienced similar concerns. I was also personally told by a teacher about a serious incident involving that student and a staff member. After these experiences, we began visiting the school more frequently and reducing the amount of time our children spent there whenever possible. Once our new school opened, we were finally able to move them. The reason I am still giving this school 4 stars is because of the TEACHERS. There are some truly wonderful people working there, and they deserve recognition. Ms. Corina -- what an amazing human being. Thank you for everything you did for our family. Ms. Monique -- our baby girl received so much love from you, and we will always appreciate it. Ms. Morgan -- thank you for all the love you gave our children. Ms. Vanessa -- thank you for teaching our kids so much and caring for them with so much love. Ms. Michelle and Ms. Mai -- thank you for all your efforts and everything you did for our children. And to Kim and Sam at the front desk -- thank you for your kindness, professionalism, and for greeting us with a smile every day. Our criticism is directed toward the way management handled our safety concerns, not toward the wonderful teachers who cared for our children. Lastly, in our experience, the school is significantly overpriced considering the student-to-teacher ratios and the level of services provided. We are grateful for the teachers who loved and cared for our children, but as parents, safety has to come first.
