First time Yelp reviewer here! Deserves a few minutes of my time…read more.. I was at Buyers Fair with some family members recently. A cute, pink cami caught my attention. My sister-in-law said, "why don't your bargain with them?" I know that people do this kind of thing all the time but I have never tried it, so I thought... why not?! I asked the very friendly clerk if she would take the price I was offering to pay (only a few dollars less). She needed to check with her manager. After doing so, the manager actually yelled across the room (with zero tact), "why would I do that? I sell 50 of these a week?!" His tone was dripping with condescension... completely unnecessary. His goal was clearly to embarrass me. I really felt the situation could have been handled in a much more civilized manner. The only person he successfully embarrassed was his poor store clerk. Nick did a great job buying my silver coin collection worth about $20K…read more Since there were so many coins he recommended me leaving the collection with him over the weekend so he could inventory it. I went back into his shop on Monday and he explained what the coins were worth (at market rate). He was also very upfront and transparent on his fees (which ended up being around 10%). Everything seemed reasonable so I proceeded forward. He wrote me a check and kept the silver and the transaction was complete. It couldn't have been any easier. His shop was modern, clean and well organized. He was professional and polite through the entire process. In all a very positive experience and I recommend his service. Living in Cleveland, I had certainly noticed the superfluous amount of "coastal" nautical lifestyle brands flush with so much of the same goods. When I first discovered Erie & Anchor, a lightbulb went off. Vermilion was always missing an AUTHENTIC nautical brand unique to Vermilion's specific identity (NOT Cleveland's). Located on the corner of Main Street in downtown Vermilion, the shop is bright, open, and filled with gorgeous items. A brief but not comprehensive list of what you can find inside: men's clothing; women's clothing; baby clothing; local inspired art; keychains; soaps; bags; tumblers; jewelry; caps and more. If you're a boater or sailor, you'll love the practical gear like windbreakers or light, warm pullovers for evening use. The goods are changing almost weekly with beautiful new items and they house a diverse line of sizes that fit ALL body types. Just check the tags and you'll see my favorite brand, Comfort Colors, which is truly inclusive. Erie & Anchor is the bright spot of downtown Vermilion and the AUTHENTIC nautical brand that captures the spirit of Vermilion in a way others can't. This is my new favorite business of 2020.

I stumbled upon this store after strawberry picking at a local farm. Its pretty huge and somewhat…read moreorganized. All kinds of things. Makes for fun browsing. Housewares, furniture, pictures, decorative items, vinyl records, toys. A little bit of everything. Prices are pretty reasonable. The person who checked me out did a very careful wrapping job on my item, which I appreciated. They also had bargain bins set up outside where everything was a buck. My only complaint: They use mailing labels stuck directly on front of item as price tags. My item has dried glue stuck to the gold leaf that I probably can't remove without damage. Moving to little hang tags on strings that most vintage stores use would help preserve the item. Then again, the price I paid was half than anywhere else and I wasn't buying it as a collector's item anyway, so no biggie. And the label came off another item effortlessly, so it probably depends. If you are worried, just ask to see item without sticker on it so you can inspect it. I'll definitely stop here again, and because of the price points and high inventory, it doesn't affect my rating of this super fun store.

I randomly stopped by this place while visiting family near Vermillion last week. This is a really…read morefun antique/vintage store that entertained us for at least 2 hours. They've got a great selection of stuff - estate jewelry from $5 and up, vintage linens/table cloths, quilts, old toys, framed art, a ton of tea cups/tea pots, clothing, kitchen stuff.....And on and on and on. Prices vary but overall I felt like they were reasonable (unlike in California where I live!). They are located in the basement of an old church, and have an auction every Saturday from 5 pm to 10 pm where you can apparently get terrific deals on furniture, etc. If I lived in Ohio, I would go all the time!
