The savoury crepes here are normally made from a combination of wheat and buckwheat flours. We wanted 100% buckwheat crepes because one of our party is gluten-intolerant and they were happy to make them for us. There is a large selection of both savoury and sweet crepes on the un-fancy menu, plus you have the option of requesting your own crepe fillings if you wish. The salad that accompanies the savoury crepes is fairly standard: red cabbage, carrot and lettuce. But you go to a crepe restaurant for tradition, not surprises. The crepes themselves were as good as expected. I've perhaps had better in Quebec City, though. The service was extremely warm and friendly, which definitely bumped up my rating.

My favorite was, under the 'Crepe Sale' part of the menu, Galette au Epinard a la creme, Eouf, e fromage. Not sure if I spelled it right but all you need to now is under Crepe with spinach a la creme, egg and cheese. Accompany that with a hot green tea or a fresh squeezed OJ and you can experience nirvana. Highly recommend if you are in Strasbourg. I had this either for breakfast or lunch everyother day. We were looking for dinner options after touring the city all day and had asked to see a menu. They only had crepes to offer, so we kept going, but decided we would return later for after-dinner drinks and dessert crepes. We came back at 21:40 (they close at 22:30) and took a seat outside. After several minutes of waiting for service, while other tables outside were cared for, I made eye contact with the server (who I believe is also the owner based on the interaction that follows) and asked if we could order. She responded by shaking her head and responding that she was only seating tables in the front of the restaurant, and no longer on the side, though other guests occupied tables in the same area. There were only tables that would accommodate two in the front while we were three patrons, so I politely explained that to her in German (which she and I both spoke very well indicating that there was no language barrier). She then told us to hold on so we remained seated where we were. After two minutes, she came out and said "So what do you want? You came and looked at my menu and left and now you are back and want something!?" I was completely shocked and my guests were mortified at this rude, aggressive, and unwelcoming greeting. I explained that when we had stopped in earlier, we liked the dessert offerings and were aware that they are closing at 22:30 but just wanted to come back for drinks and desserts, and would be able to be finished by then since we still had well over thirty minutes. She then proceeded to tell me that that wasn't good enough, she wouldn't serve us, and basically kicked us out of the table and chairs. Between the drinks and desserts, this rude and obnoxious business owner lost out on a minimum of a 50-60 euro tab. One of my guests absolutely wanted to have a crepe during our short stay in France, but this woman ruined that for her and left a terrible impression of French hospitality in general. In all my life, I was never treated so aggressively and rudely by someone. I wanted to share this review so that others know to avoid this place because being treated so poorly at a restaurant can mar your entire visit to Strasbourg.
