As a tourist I saw crepe Suzette everywhere and knew I had to try it at a place called crepe Suzette! Orange rinds in sugar to be caramelized by the alcohol (orange liquor). As usual the crepe was amazing and I did enjoy the orange on orange flavor in the crepe - the floral/orange essence came out in the rind, slice, and liquor which made it an ultimate orange crepe. The staff was kind enough to wait for us to be ready to record with a pan of alcohol on fire and the vibes were lovely (this was near closing, sorry!) One of our best meals in Paris. Delicious crepes and galettes, yummy salads. Wonderful cider. We stumbled across this creperie wanting dessert. The kind staff whipped us up a few chocolate and banana crepes to go even though it was almost closing time. We came back the next day for dinner, and the savory gallettes and yummy salads were just as good as the dessert crepes the night before. There's only like 20 seats inside and 20 more outside so it's beyond intimate. The staff was kind and as bubbly as the cider. Our dinner for four was less than 80 euro. This is an easy five star review to write. I have had many crepes, and these are the best crepes I have had to date. The place is small, but has a warm trendy atmosphere. There is small seating area downstairs and upstairs. They are open for lunch and dinner. Be sure to reserve a table in advance. There menu is simply galettes, crepes, salads, and a couple of desserts. The service was incredibly friendly, and as everything on the menu sounded good, we ordered what our server suggested. I had the goat cheese galette, followed by the apple crepe w/ house made caramel sauce, and washed it down with Normandy cider. Everything was phenomenal and I have found a new Paris favourite. Wow! What a find! Absolutely a creperie worthy of Paris. A friend brought me here because I requested crepes/galettes. Tucked away in Le Marait on a beautiful, quiet street, come here to sit on the small, gorgeous "terrace" as you watch the multitudes of people pass by with the sun on your face. The galettes are creative and tasty (see photos!) and the sweet crepes are your standard flavors but great tasting. Prices are moderate - that is, acceptable - and the service is excellent. The wait staff is friendly, bi-lingual, and very, very welcoming. If you have the time to seek out this little gem, do do do. I can't wait to come back. read more

I end up at Crêperie Suzette on almost every trip to Paris, ever since I stumbled upon it on a rainy day in 2002. On subsequent trips I would walk nervously down the rue des Francs-Bourgeois, hoping "my crêperie" would still be in business... it took me about a decade to realize I could stop worrying, because they are not going anywhere! Their offerings are not the best in all of Paris, but they're damn good, interesting, vegetarian-friendly, and the location can't be beat. Not only are they in the heart of the Marais, but they are open on Sundays (as is much of the Marais) making for a great stroll/shop/stuff-your-face kind of afternoon. My absolutely fave is the galette Francs-Bourgeois, an earthy, wonderfully textured buckwheat crêpe stuffed with spinach and topped with crême fraiche, tomato coulis, and some sort of basil oil... totally to die for and such an interesting alternative to the vegetarian's usual Parisian diet of fromage and more fromage. Second favorite is the Vosges - creamy goat cheese on the inside, and similar deliciousness on the outside. On my last visit, I tried the salade verte for the first time. It's simple, just fresh greens in a gorgeous vinaigrette, exactly as a French salad should be and an excellent tangy counterpoint to the crispness of the galettes. And despite 11 years of me sending all my touristy friends and family members there, it is still about 50% local, 50% tourist, so you won't feel like you're eating in a tourist trap. I was not about to leave Paris without having a crepe or two, so we had final dinner here before flying back to SFO in the morning. I had the spinach galette because I wanted a light dinner and my bf had the chicken galette. In retrospect, I probably should've gone with ham/cheese/egg option, but after two weeks in Europe I felt kinda cheesed out and the veggie option seemed best under the circumstances. The galettes were a dark brown (from the buckwheat) and crisp, but not burnt or dry. For dessert I had the homemade caramel crepe which was delicious and drenched in caramel sauce. Got the chevre special and the husband got the savory. It was quite good, affordable, and right next door to an extremely crowded restaurant, which was our first choice. Staff was really friendly and attentive. We didn't have to wait more than 5 minutes to pay the bill, which was also a first. I learned an important lesson that day - just because something is labeled as a goat cheese crepe, it does not mean it exclusively contains goat cheese, and no other type of dairy. I was in pain b/c I can't digest cow's milk! But, it was worth it. The buckwheat was cooked to perfection and the cheese, walnuts, and honey all worked together extremely well. I believe they dubbed it the "sweet and salty." A glass of rose went well with it and husband ordered a glass of cider to go with his.
