Months later the utility company called us and let us know our water usage was unusually high, asking if we had a water leak. Sure enough, the 50 year old pipes were leaking in front yard. We asked Jason to bid on the job to replace the water lines. He came in well under the competition and found a way to make it work without digging up the driveway. He even added 3 farm spigots so we could water our livestock and vegetable beds without worrying about the water lines freezing. It was all done in one day, which I found amazing considering the amount of work. 9 months later we were getting water in our basement, even after getting new gutters. We hired Jason to grade the soil away from the house and he even added a culvert drain to move the water underground away from the house. No more water in the basement. Scott arrived early, June 16 for his appointment.  I needed 2 toilets changed out. New ones sitting…read moreon the carport.  He moved one over to one side (small bathroom) so I could paint the wall behind it.  He then took the other old one (large bathroom) outside and brought a new one in. By himself. I finished painting and checked on his progress. He was tightening the bolts on that one (large bathroom), said he'd hurt his back. I told him I could help lift them,  to let me know. He commented that he has back problems. He said the flange under the toilet he'd just set was really high. ‍ He started on the next one in the small bath. It had been leaking between the toilet and the tank. He said he thought he could fix it without changing it out. I said ok. The new seal didn't work, it continued to leak. He said his back was killing him, he needed to leave and come back.  As he left, he said he'd let me know asap when he'd be back.  He charged me for the one toilet (large bath).  Within 3 days it was rocking.  I bought shims and tried to keep it straight and stable until he came back.   I sent him 3 nice texts asking if he was better and to let me know when he was coming back. He said the week after the 4th of July. He never called or texted. I left 2 voicemails.  He finally answered that he was out of town and would be back the following week. He would call to set up an appointment. That visit would have been the 3rd week in July. The first week in August, 6 weeks after his visit and tired of rebalancing a rocking toilet, I found someone to fix both of them. I had to pay another plumber to fix the rocking toilet and to swap out the 2nd one. The toilet rocked due to the flange. He had left it balanced precariously on the flange and an assortment of nylon shims. That issue was addressed,  the toilet set properly, squared up with the cabinet and tub, not rotated to the left as Scott had left it. The other toilet (small bathroom) was still leaking between tank and toilet. That toilet was changed out and sits squarely. I had an unstable toilet that rocked and moved and another I couldn't use at all for 6 weeks. I would expect a licensed plumber with 30 years experience to properly fix the toilet. The total lack of communication was also a disappointment.

Got a call back just a day or two later and we had a wonderful experience with the plumber. He was timely, polite, respectful, hard working, and most importantly honest. He let us know what charges could be expected ahead of time, and even went out of his way to check two stores for a repair part that saved us hundreds of dollars. (Didn't add any extra fees for that beyond the cost of the repair part.) Very reasonable charges, hardworking, and honest - now they've got a repeat customer! I'd used Anthony from All American Home Services about a year ago at a different property for a toilet leak. That job went so well -- quick, clean, reasonably priced -- that he was the first call I made when this shower issue started. Even though his schedule was packed, he found a way to fit me in within the week. Day of the appointment, he showed up right on time. Professionally dressed. Greeted me and my dog at the door like we were old friends, not a transaction. Before he even started working, he grabbed a towel and laid it down next to the shower so nothing would get dirty. It's a small thing, but it tells you everything about how this guy operates. He diagnosed the shower valve issue fast, fixed it, and the water temperature was back to normal immediately. The bill? Extremely reasonable -- honestly less than I expected for the quality of work. My only complaint is that I didn't call him sooner and spent months dealing with cold showers for no reason. Many plumbing services are closed over the weekend. We contacted ASAP Plumbing Services and the call was answered within a few rings. The plumber responded to our issue late Saturday afternoon (when most businesses would have been closed or gone home for the day). He assessed the issue and gave us a quote before beginning his work. We were pleasantly surprised by the reasonable cost of the service. He used a camera into the pipes to show us the issue, and had everything resolved within just over an hour.
