They definitely need training from Chick-fil-a. Granted, these places are never quick enough to be a walk-in service with speed, however, I was here on Monday and sat in the donation chair for 20 minutes before I even had a needle stuck in my arm. If they started paying the employees by the bottle, rather than by the hour, people would get in and out faster, and the centers would make more money quicker. It always seems to be a constant problem with places like this, but there are better ways to do it. It is so slow because they take at least 45 minutes to get drawn whereas CSL is about 25 minutes with the new machines they have. Honestly, for the difference in payment, it's not worth my time to sit in the chair for over an hour when I can do the same thing in 25 minutes at CSL. There are places that pay worse, however, for efficiency, and time, this is not the place to be.

They are running such long times that it's irrelevant that their pay schedule is higher by($5) than the next closest place. But the other center can get you in and out reasonably and for some reason this place simply cannot. They put fast passes directly in front of regular donors. At other centers they alternate new donor and small fast passes line so that the new donors are piled in front of a full line of regular clients. It's as if regular clients are no longer worth serving. The reimbursement has decreased and they've shuffled the levels so that if you can't be here twice a week EVERY SINGLE week then you can't stay in the higher tier and everything takes so long that it's nearly impossible for a working person to donate on a work night. I'm very disappointed as the staff here are medically superior but the manager is literally a guy who can do NOTHING but point. And it's as if OPI doesn't trust its senior employees to know what the system is without a useless pointer. If I come in a 3pm I'll be here 3 hours if I come in at 6:30 they seem to want to move the line through. If they could only work like this before it was time to close. That tells me they don't respect my time, only theirs. Pick a different center if you don't like epic wait times.

However, several aspects of the experience left me feeling that the donor experience could be more attentive. After being called back, I waited approximately 15 minutes before anyone started my donation. Once the donation was complete, I waited several more minutes before being disconnected. Customer across from me even asked why had I not been disconnected yet. Staff kept walking by and finally someone said they would unhook me and proceeded to tell me someone saw me and wasn't doing their job. I understand that centers can get busy, but a brief explanation or update would have made a big difference. It can leave a donor wondering whether they've been forgotten. During the donation itself, no one checked on me to see how I was feeling. Even a simple "How are you doing?" or "Are you feeling okay?" would have helped me feel more cared for and reassured that staff were attentive throughout the process. This was my first donation. I also didn't feel the music being played was appropriate for a medical setting. I realize music preferences are subjective, but I was hoping for a more clinical atmosphere that would help donors feel relaxed during the procedure. Overall, my impression was that their was a lack of efficiency, and the experience lacked the level of attentiveness and clinical atmosphere I expected. With a little more communication and periodic check-ins with donors, I believe the overall experience could be significantly improved.

It goes relatively quickly if you do some of the stuff online first when you arrive you will do your health questions and do your check in and then stand in line, I would have to say my only complaint is the lack of seats. For those of us that are older, and have arthritis standing for an hour or so, can really be traumatic on one's knees. I mentioned this before, but no one really had a reason why they don't have chairs. I do think that the phlebotomist and the front and people are pretty nice and caring and also are trained pretty well because sometimes I have gotten people who stick me and don't do well. At this location I haven't had that issue at all. They definitely check back with you. They're open to you asking questions , overall so far it has been a really good experience. One additional thing to note is that they have newer machines, so the actual process goes very quickly. Once you get connected I spend no more than 30 minutes there.

But I even had went and turned my phone light on and put it over the area and provided further proof that there wasn't any problem. Other people in the lobby even had walked up to see with curiosity. So all three plus my friend who came along had said with or without the light there's nothing there. I wasn't rude or mean and just politely asked to help me see the area she had mentioned. But then I was told my disrespectful and unruly behavior would render me indefinitely deferred. There was nothing wrong with what I did. I had respected them and never acted with aggression or violent manner. So that said, I told them prior that I had been low on gas and hadn't received my direct deposit yet so this was my only way to make it back the rest of the way home. But when the tech came out with such overkill and rude response, I was told my situation wasn't something that she cared about. I will never be here again even if there was no indefinite suspension/deferral.

It feels SO good to do something so helpful and life changing -- and it requires minimal effort. I am typically in and out within 60-70 mins. I can go in the middle of a workday without skipping a beat. This is because it only takes about five minutes to complete the initial check-in/med check...and then while you're donating you are free to use your phone, read a book, etc. After you donate, you receive an email when your blood has been shipped to a medical center for use. It is so heartwarming to know that your donation was used for the benefit of someone else. This gives me pause...in a good way...every time. There is free parking on site. They will offer to schedule your next blood donation at the earliest point that you're eligible to donate again, making it so easy for you to return. And, have I even mentioned that there's a free snack at the end? The Nutter Butters are my go to. ;)

I will never in my entire life go back to this place or donate through this company ever again. The…read morecompany is now Grifols which I have never had a problem with until arriving at this location. There's a gentleman who is a very tall, heavyset, bald man with a large framed pair of glasses, that is the single handedly most offensive and ignorant person I have ever met. When I arrived, everything was fine until they did a check of my arms and everything else. I had recently had blood work done at my primary care's office the Jane Polly Center on North Arlington and so there were some slight bruising and marks on my arms. When I pulled my sleeves up, I did state and identify this immediately, and even though I was able to provide all of the blood testing, I had done with dates and test names via MyChart to prove that my blood work was a valid reasoning for the marks of my arms and bruising. I was told that that was not a sufficient and reasonable explanation. That I had to somehow provide a statement on my chart that I had been stuck in both arms with syringes to draw blood. I have very constricted veins that roll almost every time. So it took a little while and trying both arms in order to get one to draw blood from. I did everything I could within my power to provide him with the information to show that I was in fact someone who had blood work done. But instead, I was dismissed and disregarded as nothing more than an " lying junkie, who had blast marks upon his arms" there was a lot more insensitive and rude as could be things said. But to spare you all the details of that part, you can just assume where that had gone given the statement he made that I did include. Even though it had been long enough since the blood work and I had sufficient hydration and nutrition in my body, I was treated as nothing but subhuman trash, who was not seen as equal and worthwhile. So I was dismissed on every claim I made to try and show that I wasn't what he was claiming me to be. I will never go back to this place and I hope that gentleman is fired because I heard him say these things to more than just me but in different situations

Today I went to this location to due my Weekly plasma donation, while at this center,I was disrespected by a staff member by the name of Alex Spiker, he was rude , in my opinion obnoxious, I had requested a certain staff member to proform my procedure,I told other staff member Robin that I wanted to know why he was refusing my request, then he came to my bed and said " I don't have to cater to your request" but upon looking at the guidelines for grifols plasma center I have the right to request a certain staff member to perform the phenbotomist task of my donation. I then went up to the front desk to speak to the facility director Devin, while speaking to another staff member Jodie, Alex Spiker came to the desk area and in a harah voice and told me to leave and not to bother the staff. I don't believe I deserve that type of treatment after being a loyal customer for many years. I don't recommend this facility, due to this staff member treating customers in such a hateful manner, I tried contacting their corporate office and got nowhere, I guess this facility a bad review and I hope other people see this review and avoid donating at that facility. Alex should not be allowed to work at that facility with that type of attitude.
