We booked over the phone but for some reason they didn't have us on their schedule. Luckily they…read morewere able to fit us in. I found out the fun way that I respond poorly to giving blood. I did NOT know about the eating before hand thing so I hadn't eaten within the two hours they suggest. will try eating a big meal next time. But I am glad I found out here because I was going to give blood at school and TBH there's not guarantee I would've eaten before I did. They were able to get me back to feeling normal again quickly. I didn't pass out or puke but I certainly felt like I was going to. I am glad they already knew what to do because I never would've thought to use ice packs or cough. Dad used to come here all the time to donate and wanted me to go with but I was a baby about needles. Luckily I bled quickly so I didn't have to deal with the needle under my skin for long. Hubby may have to give blood again in more regularly so if so we will definitely be back.

I walked in without an appointment, but I didn't have to wait very long at all. The staff members…read morewere all very courteous, friendly, and accommodating. The medical care that I received was excellent. There was zero discomfort at all during the blood draw procedure. I plan on returning again to do my civic duty to freely donate more pints of blood. I like helping my community. Vitalant is a company that several years ago subsumed several blood banks across the country, including Lifeblood. Lifeblood had been based in Memphis, and covered a good part of the Mid-South at one time. This is still a free blood bank, i.e., donors are actually freely giving their blood, and are never paid money for their donations.

This was my review Unfortunately, what started off as a…read moregood experience has taken a completely different turn. Since leaving my original review, the treatment my husband has received has been extremely disappointing. Today, he had an appointment scheduled for 2:35 PM. He arrived around 2:30 PM, checked in through the app, and was present in the lobby. Despite this, he was told that they could not see him and that he needed to leave because they claimed he "wasn't here." He was then told by a staff member that she "didn't feel like taking anybody else." I'm sorry, but how is that an acceptable reason to turn someone away? If an appointment is scheduled, the customer arrives early, and they properly check in, the expectation is that the appointment will be honored. This is now the second time my husband has been turned away, despite him remaining respectful and courteous every time he has come in. Being respectful should not result in someone being talked down to or treated as though they are an inconvenience. What is the purpose of having an app check-in system if those check-ins are not being acknowledged? He was there, he checked in, and there are cameras that can verify his presence in the lobby. My husband has a job and is currently waiting on a paycheck while we deal with a difficult situation involving an eviction. Life is already stressful enough without having to come somewhere for assistance and then be treated disrespectfully for no apparent reason. He has never been disruptive or disrespectful to the staff. There was absolutely no reason to turn him away, especially when he arrived early, checked in properly, and was simply there for his scheduled appointment. I have already contacted corporate regarding these concerns, and I will also be filing a complaint with the BBB. At the end of the day, people deserve to be treated like human beings regardless of their circumstances. Whatever someone may be going through personally should never become an excuse to mistreat the people they are supposed to serve. A little compassion and basic respect can go a long way. I have contacted the corporate office and filed a formal complaint. A reminder for Emma: treat people like human beings. Money, titles, or positions don't make you a good person, how you treat people does. Whatever you may be going through in life that makes you feel justified in treating others the way you do, I genuinely pray that God delivers you from it. Because everything God allows us to have in this lifetime.. money, success, positions, opportunities; can be given, and it can just as easily be taken away. Never get so comfortable with what you have that you forget how you treat the people who helped you get there. He was accepted to the back after he came back and pleaded, but she is purposely skipping over him because she's upset. This is not ok.
