I have been Plasma donor for several years now and I've had an opportunity to experience a few different donation centers. If you're a regular donor you have no doubt seen two sides to every donation center, some things are good and some things are perhaps needing some improvement. In my experience this site is no different than many of the others out there. The building is centrally located, in a fairly safe neighborhood with lots of parking. It is in a shopping center in the facility looks to be less than 10 years old. It's fairly clean in the parking lot and the interior has a nice modern look and feel. As a first-time downer, I was greeted within a few minutes and they reviewed my documents to ensure that I was qualified to donate. I was given some disposable headphones to watch the short video all donors have to watch on the first visit. First visit is always longer anticipate spending more than a couple of hours there as you will have to complete some extra questions and go through the medical screening process. This was actually pretty quick. Initial screening can sometimes take a very long time, however, I went through the process with virtually no waiting. I was able to complete the initial screening for new donor in about 45 minutes, which was pretty impressive. However, servicing the decline a little bit once I was on the donor floor. I waited about 20 minutes before the phlebotomist got me started. I had some problems during my donation and ask for help a couple of times, however one of the workers seem to be a little frustrated having to come back to adjust my needle. While completing my donation I noticed that most everyone who came in had to wait 15 to 20 minutes to get set up and started as they appear to be understaffed. This is slightly understandable in the settings, I think most of gotten used to the fact that facilities are generally understaffed and workers are overworked. At the conclusion of my donation I again had to wait about 15 to 20 minutes to be discharged. I had also noticed it seem like a flood of donors came in as I was completing, with no additional staff and I'm sure the demands increased. For new donors you can expect to be compensated $50 for each of your first five visits. After that compensation varies depending upon your weight with the maximum being $20 for the first visit of the week and $45 for the second. I'm not sure what other facilities in the area pay, but this is more less consistent in my experience in other states. I actually made slightly more in another state but the CSL facility in that state to pay it up a little more for the visits so I just expect this to be about the same. Overall my experience was OK, and I will be back for more donations. I have come to learn that workers in these facilities are often overworked and under paid and staffing issues are pretty prevalent. That said, I may explore some other facilities in the future but for now I will stay put. read more

Terrible. Long wait time the line behind me just keeps getting longer. Stood in place for a half hour without moving. There were 3 people that were on the floor but they weren't doing anything. It is rediculus the line isn't moving at all. Management should watch and have the center keep a constant pace. Maybe OctaPharma is better. At least it probably wouldn't be like this. read more

worst experience ever and I've been donating at this location for almost 8 years. first of all lady was extremely rude when I mentioned the fast pass they gave me on first donation of week. very heavyset woman. Dk her name. then told me that no one that worked for CSL told me what they did a few days ago. never coming back here ever again. Used this location about 10 times every time my vitals check is a 30+ wait then another 20+ to get on the donor floor. Making my visit 2-2.5 hours. If I could give zero stars, I would. This place was a crap show from the start. Slowest place I have been to. First time there, started to pass out on my last return, could not get any staff attention. Tried to yell at the males that were standing directly across from me and they didn't respond. Thankfully before I passed out, was able to make eye contact with a female employee and she rushed over and started procedures to keep me conscious. Never had that happen at other centers, but understand places can be different. Next time donation, my return was adjusted slower and after that never had an issue. I need to remember to tell them every single time to adjust the return or it would not have been done. Today was my last "new donor" donation, the app showed it was $100 pay for today when I went in. As has been the case the last several weeks, long lines and wait. After being seated in donation chair, there was an issue with someone that had a bad stick, needed to be redone and did not want the other person right there to do it because he messed her up last time. So, gentleman that was starting to put me on, was asked and I had someone else. My stick went fine. When I was about done, a new donor across from me either started to pass out or did pass out. They had everyone to her and doing what needed to be done. I could see she was talking and seemed alright but they still needed to keep an eye. I understand that.... BUT they had 2 people there at that point and I had been done for some time and none of the others took me off. One gentleman told me someone would come soon, they did not and he ended up taking me off. As I walked out, I felt alright. Got to car and looked at phone and saw I was paid $55 instead of $45. So, went back inside to talk to someone before leaving. I told the young woman at the desk and she said they had had a lot of issues today with it. I told her it was my last $100 and I knew next time I would go down but today should have been $100. She looked up info and said, oh, you need to be in 30 days. At this point I could feel myself starting to black out, I told her I was going to pass out and she told me if I needed to just to sit right there on the floor. I made it to the chairs alone. I sat there about 15 mins trying to not throw up or pass out. NOT ONE employee bothered to see if I was ok. I tried to get my feet up on chairs but couldn't elevate them. Once I felt ok enough, I went back over to desk and started the conversation again. Showed her that I was IN FACT within the 30 days. THEN Ashe changes and says. Oh yeah, the system updated and new donors only get $500 now instead of $800. So you only get the $55 today. At this point a man that I believe is considered a doctor on staff comes over. I told them, no, that can't be right since when I signed up it was $800. When I walked in today your app on my phone showed $100. So, I understand for a new donor today that would be accurate but not if when I came in it was higher. Both of them told me, nope, does t matter. I don't get the money I was suppose to get because the system updated and they can't do anything bout it. I told them excuse my language but this is effing BS. And they both agreed but said nothing they could do. At that point I started to black out again and told them both, I needed to sit again. The man was, ok, do what you need to do. SERIOUSLY---WTF? I went and sat in the lobby again for about 15 mins again and again not one staff person attended to me. When I felt well enough I went to the car. Ended up having my wife come and get me because I still couldn't drive. My head felt like needles were sticking in it and I felt like throwing up. She came and got me and we went and got some food, several hours later I felt well enough to drive. This whole experience today was bad and to take my plasma and pay me half what I was owed and say...yeah, we agree it's wrong but can't fix it? Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. Most of us do this because we need money, not for fun. Today I felt my well being was not a concern and I was robbed. It is theft to take the plasma and not pay the agreed amount. I was on my second visit since last year that was in Hillsborough county. Never had a problem. But because I thought they had suboxin listed on my medication list. The nurse at the 49th st location. Permanently deferred me from donating plasma. And treated me like a needle using junkie. I tried to explain to mrs judgy why I was on it for when I had back surgery and didn't want to take the pain pills. But because SHE said I didn't disclose it. Which I did in Hillsborough and didn't think it was big deal because it's not on. The can't take list. I did not appreciate being looked at like a junkie and she as the head nurse needs a communication skills courses . She has no manners and was rude. .. read more

This place is only good when then they stick you. Was hung up on, the girl screening me said I stink and was unhygenic (not the case) and they are just all around childish. They talk amongst themselves about being drunk or going out or about their breaks, all while putting a needle in your arm. What a joke. read more

Poor customer service from Barbara. She should not be there if she does not want to do her job. She picked up the phone and couldn't help me because she was busy. I asked if someone can call me back? Barbara said no they can't. She then said she can put me on hold but there will probably not pick up. I asked for a manager and Barbara started talking saying her goodbyes out loud so the people around her wouldn't know that she was actually being rude and hanging up the phone. This happened @ 7/31/17 @ 1:23 pm. She stated they were busy. They funny thing is that they are always busy, which means no one will ever be able to help me. I also check the website to see if they had a contact us button, but it appears to be for vendors. There is no way of filing a complaint unless I write this public review. I put a rating because I had to. Terrible customer service. Standing here in line at 7:00 p.m. 18 people online with only two people working the front end. Poorly managed facility. They act like they are doing you a favor since you are getting paid not considering the pain you have to go through to get paid. They need to go watch another center like Grifols. I'm giving this place 4 stars only. I would give 5 but due to a recent issue, it's a 4. Most of the staff is great! The place IS clean! I give them that. The other donor place isn't so nice, or clean. A few of the girls on the donor floor could use smiles on their faces. Always the same ones looking all sad. If you don't like ur job, please move on. You don't have to stay somewhere ur not happy with. Go back to school, find something you want to do! Another issue. The rental guard... First time I was there... didn't see a guard. Then all of a sudden there is a guard. I figured something happened to make her end up there. Didn't think about it again. Well I JUST get done with donation, I go and get a overly priced 12 oz can of sprite to drink. I went out front, crouched down, to dig through my purse for my keys, phone, etc.. Maybe 1 1/2 mins later?? Here comes the guard... First thing out her mouth "Are you waiting for someone, about to donate, or what?" (The "or what" part seemed rude to me) I said I JUST donated. I JUST got out here. "Well maybe you dont know the rules, but you cant sit out front" So being I JUST freaking got there JUST got all my stuff in my hands, I just stood up walked to my motorcycle (parked right in front of where I was sitting, I was trying to stay in the shade for a few minutes) I said "Can I sit here on my bike?" She then tells me "I wasn't being rude" Um, Neither was I! Was clearly asking a question, and clearly was doing EXACTLY what you asked me to do, MOVE. Just SO happens I was parked 5 feet from where I was crouched down from. Just didn't want to sit DIRECTLY in the sun being I JUST DONATED! But whatever. I did what you wanted me to, WITHOUT being rude. But you clearly don't know what being rude is. I could have said WHAT SIGN SAYS I CANT BE HERE? There isn't even ONE sign saying you cant. Just one saying no skateboarding... Maybe update the sign.... Or have the Plasma workers tell ALL new donors NOT to be out front even if its just for a minute! Walk down one store, on way or the other... She STILL didn't answer me if I could sit at MY motorcycle?? That's what I did. Last I knew that is not illegal...and neither is taking 2 mins stopped in front of ur place of business. Maybe you should go about telling people you cant be out there a different way. I didn't say a word after what I thought you said to me was rude. I was simply walking away. Like I THOUGHT you wanted me to do....Was I supposed to be sorry? Screw that! This is by far the best experience I have had at a plasma care facility. I usually do not write reviews and just rely on others, but I figured I'd start off with my experience at CSL. First of all, very clean and very organized. The staff was polite with myself and others. I can see they had a good relationship with others as well. All in all I had a great experience and highly recommend the facility. read more

I can't agree with the negative reviews here. If you're a first time donor, it's going to be a long day (5+ hours). While they do have a bit of an under staffing problem, I have not come across anyone who was rude, or pushy, or disrespectful. It's a busy location, even at 6 am. Once you get past your new donor orientation, things go a lot faster. Expect around 2 hours, depending on how fast you can donate on the bed. Some people only take 35-45 mins, others, like myself, take over an hour. All depends on you, really. I'm happy to have started donating again, and I don't mind waiting as much, it's easy supplemental money. Will continue to keep going back. :) read more

So my first visit I got a hematoma and lost my red cells..came back 8 weeks later and they checked my arm. Apparently the girl put down the wrong arm to stick me in so that lead to getting the hematoma as that vein was no good. After a good hour a was told my hematocrit was too low. I come back today and go to use the kiosk. After waiting a half hour my thumb doesn't register so I tell someone who informs me I have to register a new print. So then after doing that I am told I have to wait at back of line instead of being next at kiosk. So now I am done with this crappy ass place that is ran by 19 year olds with little medical experience. Good luck with that place. read more
