Very disappointed with OneBlood's customer service. They claim a 3-5 business day response time by phone or email, yet I emailed them almost a month ago and still have not received a reply. I'm simply trying to resolve a legitimate problem redeeming rewards that were promised for my donation. Meanwhile, according to information shown on Google, their CEO earns approximately $1.72 million per year. It is remarkable that an organization with that level of executive compensation cannot provide adequate customer service to the people donating their blood. If OneBlood offers rewards, they should honor them and provide timely help when donors have problems redeeming them. read more

False advertising. This was my first time donating blood and it was a bonus seeing the stickers plastered all over the inside of the bus "first donation gets a $20 gift card".BUT not only did I not receive it, I also didn't receive the tee-shirt. I called customer service several times and sent emails and when I told them what happened they informed me that I was supposed to get movie tickets on that bus. She said she was going to mail the tickets out with the shirt. Well I received the shirt but NO TICKETS! Because of all this, I won't be donating blood with this organization again. read more

I recently donated platelets in Fort Myers, FL after being offered a free T-shirt and a $50 eGift Card. Instead, I only received a $20 gift card. I called Customer Service and left a detailed message, but no one returned my call. After two days, I finally reached a representative named Michelle. I explained the situation, and she told me they were not going to honor the offer that had been advertised. I then asked to speak with a supervisor, Giovanna. I was told she was unavailable but would call or email me back. I was also told that if I wanted to file a complaint, I would simply be transferred back to Customer Service to leave yet another voicemail. I don't understand why it's so easy to reach someone when they need your blood or platelets, and everyone is friendly and helpful. But when it's time to honor the incentives they promised, suddenly no one is available and no one returns your calls. This experience has been extremely disappointing. I believe organizations should stand behind the offers they make and treat donors with the same respect after the donation as they do before it. I'll be sharing my experience on social media so others are aware and can make informed decisions. read more

The inside of the Bus needs a good cleaning; baseboards on the floor, grungy & dirty. Gave blood at a sponsored location yesterday. Though there were 3 employees working 4 beds for whole blood donations of one pint, they took REALLY long. My partner came in looking to see if I was alright because it was taking much longer than usual. My technician rubbed my vein site SO hard & SO many times prior to actually poking Me, that it made Me feel nauseated, then It hurt when the needle entered; that's not even necessary. I witnessed one bed across Me where the little squeeze ball shaped like a drop of blood, fell to the floor & bounced around. I pointed it out out loud to the 2 techs working in this Section who seemed oblivious. Then the one Dude, picked it up & placed it. Right back on the side table of the donor who was in that chair. I was grossed out. He didn't even bother to wipe it down; it was gonna be in the next donors hands to squeeze & it had bounced all over the dirty floor. This donation took much longer that the others I've done. The Bus looks grungy & dirty floors & could use a good thorough cleaning. The phlebotomists I've watched & had help Me weren't especially friendly & look tired & over it. I ALWAYS have trouble on their stupid website trying to make appointments. No Staff available to assist on Chat & today I waited on hold for 6 minutes to speak to a live representative, then hung up. My Observations are; their donation bus needs a good cleaning; An employee (Phlebotomist) who picks up off the dirty floor, a fallen squishy ball for donors to use, & casually places it back on the side table tray for that donor chair, WITHOUT WIPING IT DOWN, is a PILAU MOVE. Pilau meaning DIRTY. I had to ask my Plebotomist, to go wipe it clean. I WILL NOT DONATE WITH ONE BLOOD ANYMORE. Customer Service Sucks Employees (phlebotomists) I've dealt with lack friendliness, courtesy, seem tired & unmotivated & this last incident sealed the deal for Me. Can't reach them by phone or chat & the website BITES. Back to Red Cross or, the Hawaii Blood Bank when I'm home. Too Bad for One Blood. Where's the Customer Service here? Recently I decided to give blood because of the bus in the Publix parking lot; plus the $20! It has been over a decade since I have given, but I thought, "You know what? With the price of eggs and coffee creamer, who couldn't use an extra $20?" I wasn't really looking forward to the process. I stepped into the bus however, and was enthusiastically greeted by two of their blood peeps, Christina and Julio. I went through the check in process, and grabbed a seat, hoping to just meditate on Instagram for 20 minutes. However, what I realized is that meditating is not possible with Julio and Christina. They were in full "This is a fiesta!" mode, and I was soon wrapped up in their party atmosphere! Julio did a great job of upgrading me to the $30 plan, which also allows me to get some of my blood back! I know, right? I guess it is called adouble red-cell donation. We all chatted the entire time, talking about our humble beginnings, and what our plans for the future were. We even chatted about the upcoming snow in Florida. Before I knew it, the time was over. And because I was their best client of the day, they said I could have a Diet Coke AND a shirt, LONG SLEEVE! Anyways, I am back on the blood wagon again, and will be seeking them out in May when I can give again. By the end of the year, I should have a whole new wardrobe of "Lifesaver" shirts. I've been donating platelets at OneBlood Ocala since December. I had never donated platelets and was kind of nervous about it. The whole staff was so kind and incredibly good at what they do, and made me feel totally at ease. They always express sincere gratitude to their donors. I am now happy to say that I am a consistent platelet donor and will continue to give as often as allowable, all because of these awesome people! It's an hour drive, and the process takes about 3 hours for me, so it's a big time commitment. But I would not go anywhere else because these folks at the Ocala location are really something special. Shoutout to Eric, Kristi, Rhonda, Janice, and Frank. You guys are the best! read more

The problem is One blood uses huge needles that hurt going in, hurt the whole time they are in. They do this to draw the blood as fast as possible but they are always short handed or staffed by degenerates, so you wait and wait amd wait for them to finish with you. She goes inside to call her supervisor leaving me outside standing there for 20 minutes just to come outside and tell me no again!! I've donated with OneBlood 46 times without issue: whole blood and plasma. Sometimes the sticks weren't too bad; sometimes they were. I never had a complaint until they started changing policies, advertising challenges that they don't follow through with. Primarily, I think this has to do with where I was. My donation was in North Carolina through their Hickory branch. When I called to talk to somebody about my issue, I was treated very rudely on the phone, and instead of acting like I was somebody important donating blood to their cause, I was basically told that they weren't going to do anything. It's been very disappointing that there hasn't been any follow-up after working with this company for five years. Maybe the company is in trouble and can't stand behind their challenges, or maybe it's just a small instance of one company going their own way within a big company. Loss: $40 read more

One of the most unpleasant experiences I've had donating blood. I've given over a gallon and a half of blood through a different blood donation service. The reward is minuscule so you would expect to be treated with respect and dignity and gratitude. I didn't feel that way at all in fact, I felt disrespected. Hello I was on your blood bus today and I had a very unpleasant experience on the bus. I had the service where you guys pull up to my house and extract the double red blood cells and I was very unpleased with the service. So it started out normally everything was going okay and my tests were going great. Things took a wrong turn when I was stuck with the IV that was taking out my red blood cells. I had complained to the nurses the IV felt very hot in my arm and they kinda consoled me saying everything was okay. I have donated a handful of times and never experienced that. When the process was halfway over and the automated machine started pumping back saline into my viens I told them it hurt me. It took 3 times of me stating "OW" to actually look at the IV and pull it out of me. My arm was inflating like a balloon in the region of contact, it was painful. After the service was over they only pulled out a phone device asking me if I was okay or not to which I said sure because the needle was extracted from my arm. There was no aftercare that I've experienced every single time that I've used your service. They have always asked me to spend 15 minutes extra to ensure my safety from said service but it feels like the one time I experienced a complication with it they disappeared. I would like to speak with someone higher up in the company to discuss our options. My appointment was set for 5/8/2026 at 2:00pm as the appointment time. It is now 6:30pm the same day and my swelling is still there and it has not gone down. Even after using the paper they gave me instead of helping me care for it themselves as they should if they are going to be walking around with needles taking blood from donors. read more

I showed up for my appointment in early February. After filling out all the required forms and getting my iron and BP checked, was asked about any travel. When I said I had been overnight in Cape Town 9 weeks ago, I was rejected and told to come back in a few weeks. Today I showed up at the Walmart in Tarpon Springs for my 12:30 appointment and after 20 minutes found out there would be no bus. I got home and learned they had called at 12:32 to tell me the bus would be late and to return between 3 and 6PM. At 3:00 I arrived and was told there was nobody on the bus to do DOUBLE RED so I should make an appointment for another day. That will never happen again. read more

Very unprofessional. Check in was slow and repetitive. My procedure was draw and discard, for high hermatacrit. Procedure was not done because I was taking a blood thinner. Staff seemed disinterested, and advised I should terminate medication. My orders did not direct this. I was there for an hour at 9am, and never saw another patient. I will not return. read more

I have given blood here a few times, but the last time I donated blood off State Road 54 in Wesley Chapel, Florida it was terrible. The guy who took would constantly come back and keep moving the needle around in my arm every five minutes. Not sure if he was trying to make the blood go faster or if it was because it was closing time but it was just super uncomfortable. I've never had that happen before. Then when he went to go take the needle out, he punctured my vein. A lot of blood was coming from my arm and then a day after the blood draw I have a big bruise running down my arm. read more

Made an appointment about five days out and I was in and out within 30-40 minutes. Not a fan of blood and needles, but Martika was awesome and we had a great conversation! Another perk of donating blood right now is that you're getting an antibody test as well to see if you've ever had COVID-19. This was my first time going into the center since I usually just donate on the Big Red Bus. Personally I enjoyed being in the center better. My account has been locked out for a long time. I just resolved some issues that prevented me from donating. So, I thought I would try again. I followed all instructions to the "T", to no avail. I finally called support, and they were perplexed as well. Finally, I hear oh that's the problem. I was instructed to use a password that they issued. It worked, only to find that all my rewards were canceled. I called back and found that their rewards had expired. I was never told so. I assumed it was like a blood bank. You get to keep what you earn. Apparently, it falls under "restrictions apply". I was told, sorry can't help you. So, if you want to build a relationship with a blood donation company, I would not suggest that you Do Not use One Blood. I hope that they don't let my blood expire too. A simple email notification would have been nice for customer relations and business development. read more

After seeing on the news that One Blood was doing a free COVID-19 Antibody test with blood donations, I proceeded to make an appointment with the main donor center, located at 9900 Dr MLK Jr St N, in St Petersburg, FL. It took a few times to actually get a live human on the phone but I finally got through on 5/19 @12:05pm. The soonest appointment they had for me was on 5/24 @ 11:00am which I gladly accepted. Upon arriving for my appointment, I was told that my name was not in their system. They asked who I had spoken with when I made the appointment, which I could not remember since it was 5 days ago. The woman advised me that the only thing she could do was make another appointment for me and that the soonest one they had was on 5/28. Waited 5 days for an appointment only to find out I'd have to wait another 4 days. I proceeded to ask for the supervisor's name so I could formally complain about the incompetent customer service folks that answer the phone at this place. Easy in & out to give my platelet donation. There was a time when they were extremely concerned with how you felt after you were finished, even offering something to drink or a snack of crackers but not so much lately. Nothing was offered:( Previously, I was told you need to replenish fluids immediately after donating, & was offered a soda or orange juice. I will still continue to donate as there is a need for platelets for both cancer & organ transplant patients. read more
