They also told me that they were "just about to contact me about it" which I find hard to believe. They then proceeded to ask to cancel my order. Really upset and quite bad abrupt customer service. I would not recommend buying from this company as they do not know how to treat there customers appropriately. They offered me "additional items" and booja chocolates to be sent with my order if I didn't want to cancel... the boOna chocolates were already included in the original order and who knows what these "additional items" were. I presume they would not be worth the stress and the money being taken/held from my account for a number of days without any contact. Also the items were advertised as on sale, it's January so I assumed it was a January sale. I told them they were on sale but they said they had no record of this... even though my order went through and I had an email confirmation , money left my account and I had the shop app with tracking set to take place. Super strange. I would avoid this company at all costs as I can only imagine what it's like trying to return something or quibble anything with them that you might not be happy with, they will not budge and will not help.

I needed a fun-loving design team who could take my ideas and bring them to life (and they had their own in-house architect, Hal Dorfman, who in the end, was fantastic in ensuring a smooth process). Robyn, Liz, Lisa & intern AJ were a delight to work with--their humor, kindness, and ability to keep on task regardless of the many hurdles thrown at the project along the way were inspiring and stress-reducing. They were always available, super fast to respond, and kept me sane during the entire year it took to convince my building's engineer my apartment rehab would be feasible. Robyn was able to bring to life every idea I had in her original design plans and when they weren't feasible she found terrific workarounds that were as good if not better. Her knowledge of local craftspeople (custom millwork, custom upholstery, appliances, lighting) was exceptional. Liz's careful eye for detail was terrific in how she helped pick really wise and fun furniture, fabric, and lighting choices. The many lighting challenges of my mid-Century building were handled with ease. Lisa kept me apprised of budget, contractors, and billing issues throughout and coordinated so many financial details. As a team, we ended up, through a lot of intense collaboration, with an end product that was stunning and beyond what any of us had originally conceived and dramatically altered the space. The many months delay in getting final approval to renovate became time to fine-tune and make creative adjustments that resulted in a spectacular gut rehab. After walking away for many months the best part came at the reveal--I didn't want to see it until it was complete. That wow moment and the joy of seeing it 99% together was a day I will never forget. Every room has a wow factor and has so many fun, creative, and useful elements. Like most renovations, costs ended up being higher than expected, so we had to make a few adjustments along the way and couldn't implement every single detail exactly as originally designed. That said, we followed Nada's vision as closely as possible--and it really shows. Her design direction, attention to detail, and overall aesthetic elevated our space in a way we wouldn't have been able to achieve on our own. Even with some modifications, the foundation she created carried through beautifully. The process did take some time, but in the end, it was absolutely worth it. The owner, Larry is a super nice guy and he is very knowledgeable, reasonable and helpful. He was the main reason we hired them to remodel our kitchen, then our basement, our 2nd floor bathroom, our garage and our porch. The only issues with this company is that they lack communication between teams, a lot of the contractors they use make things worse and then they have to bring in someone else to fix those mistakes. But they do it, they fix the mistakes. It might take 6 months for it to get done, but if you nag them enough they eventually get to it. For example; we had them order custom windows and front door for our house. "Custom" means that they measure the opening and order something exactly that size. Well, when our custom windows came, they were all too small, so the contractors just added molding as a space filler. Now they're smaller than the originals. But we were very upset about this, as expected. So, for the last 3 months we've been awaiting the installation of the correct size windows. One great thing is that when they quote you a price, it's very reasonable. You don't get a ton of sticker shock with them. And they tend to stay at or below the quoted price. You just have to stay on top of them, constantly.

We had a fire on Thanksgiving that destroyed our family home. However, on Black Friday when everyone else was enjoying the holidays LA Design showed up. Within an hour they had the house boarded up and told us, "Don't worry about a thing, we will handle everything." Those words would turn out to be their mantra the entire process of the rebuild. Their knowledge of the insurance process made it possible to secure every penny available to us by our insurance company without issue. Even when we ran into trouble with our bank issuing funds, they did not stop work like other companies would have for non-payment. LA Design kept working and knew exactly how to handle the situation. They just went above and beyond for everything. The work that they do is outstanding. They are true craftsmen and employ some of the best workers around. The house they built for us is truly beautiful and we couldn't say enough about it. During the construction we rented a house nearby, allowing us to stop in at any time to check on the progress and nearly every time Larry Jr. or Larry Sr. were on site. In the rare chance they were not there, if we called with questions they would make it a priority to stop by. Larry Jr. and Larry Sr. didn't see this as constructing just a house for us, but building our home. They understood the pain we were going through and actually listened to everything we had to say. They were humble, caring and had a great sense of humor, making the entire process a lot easier than it could have been. You hear horror stories about contractors, and this was quite the opposite.
