    ### THINK TWICE BEFORE JOINING BIG SKY FARMINGTON…read more **Potential members--please read this before signing a membership agreement with Big Sky Farmington.** My daughter joined Big Sky Farmington **while she was still a minor and in high school**. A few months later, she needed to cancel because she is going away to college out of state. When she contacted the gym to cancel, instead of making the process straightforward, we were told there was a **one-year contract** and that she needed to jump through a series of hoops to prove that she was moving. That raises a very basic question: **How does Big Sky believe it can enforce a one-year contractual obligation against someone who was a minor when the membership agreement was entered into?** I'm not a lawyer, so I'm not going to make a definitive legal conclusion about the enforceability of the contract. But the fact that **the member was a minor when the agreement was entered into** is a significant issue that I believe deserves an answer--not simply a reference to the fine print. And the cancellation experience gets even more concerning. We provided documentation showing that she has been admitted to college out of state. Apparently, that isn't enough. Under Big Sky's stated "moving" cancellation policy, they are demanding things such as a new lease, utility bill, driver's license, pay stub, insurance document, bank statement, credit-card statement, etc. For students, they specifically demand **both a class schedule AND a tuition receipt**. They also say they require **25 days' written notice** and that payments will continue until they receive what they consider "sufficient proof" of the move. Meanwhile, Connecticut has just strengthened its consumer protections around cancellation of automatically renewing memberships. **As of July 1, 2026, Connecticut law requires covered businesses to provide an easy way to cancel, prohibits requiring consumers to cancel in person or by mail, and requires businesses to promptly process cancellation requests without obstructing or delaying them.** Businesses that fail to comply may be subject to investigation for unfair trade practices. ([CT.gov][1]) Connecticut's Department of Consumer Protection has also specifically warned consumers about health-club cancellation problems and says that when a member cancels, the health club must provide written confirmation of the cancellation and its effective date within 10 days. ([CT.gov][2]) So here is my question to Big Sky: **Why is a former high-school student, who was a minor when this membership was entered into and who is now leaving Connecticut for college, being subjected to this level of resistance simply to cancel a gym membership?** This isn't about trying to get something for free. It's about **basic fairness and transparency**. If you are considering joining Big Sky Farmington, my advice is simple: **READ EVERYTHING BEFORE YOU SIGN.** Ask specifically: * Is there a one-year commitment? * What happens if you leave the state for college? * Exactly what documentation will you need to cancel? * How do you submit a cancellation request? * When does billing actually stop? * What happens if the person signing the agreement is under 18? And if you're signing up a teenager, **pay particular attention to who is actually entering into the contract and what authority the gym believes it has to enforce that contract.** A gym membership shouldn't require a consumer to become an expert in contract law just to leave. **My experience has made me seriously question whether Big Sky Farmington is the right place for families, students, or anyone who values straightforward cancellation policies and customer service.** Potential members: **do your homework before handing over your payment information.** [1]: https://portal.ct.gov/ag/press-releases/2026-press-releases/at

I've been gym hopping for a few years since I was unable to find a spot with a good mix of classes,…read moreexercises and trainers that I enjoyed working with. This place has really changed that for me. The trainers are amazing here- some of the best I've had. There is a method to their strength and conditioning where they focus on certain parts of the body each class and have a focus each month. Monday's and Wednesday's are known as strength days and Tuesdays and Thursdays are cardio days. Fridays are cardio boxing days and Saturday and sundays are the playground days. These classes have set exercises and intervals each time and the trainers run through each exercise and what the interval means before starting the workout. Then they end with a finisher that changes up each time. The trainers also truly care about form and pushing you to help you get stronger!

Fearless Fitness is awesome ! After being a loyal client of another local boot camp gym (for…read moreyears), I switched to Fearless for three main reasons : 1) early morning class time --5:30am which is crucial for me as I have to be at work by 7:30am. Side note : moving it even earlier (5:15) would be amazing !!! 2) individual attention from trainers-- trainers thoroughly explaining each workout and movement to make sure you are using the appropriate weight and motion -- much less chance of getting hurt !! 3) workouts stick to a "plan" each day of the week Mondays and Wednesdays are strength focused Tuesdays and Thursdays are more cardio Fridays are boxing !!! Love this And the weekend classes are a mix of everything (sure to kick your butt!!!) The only reasons I am not giving it 5 stars are because 1)some (not all) trainers do not start class on time and it's really frustrating if you have a tight schedule (in the mornings ) to be waiting 5 or so minutes to start class And 2) as this gym grows and classes can sometimes have 20+ people they need to accommodate this and have enough equipment for each station (or make extra stations) and have an extra trainer at the class for that individual attention Overall I am a happy client and hopefully they will work through these growing pains -- they are expanding to a second location!!!

Working out had never been a part of my life, so the thought of joining a gym was extremely intimidating. I did a lot of research on different gyms and personal trainers in my area and finally decided to call Fabi Fitness based on the great reviews. John called me right away, and I was scared and embarrassed to explain my situation. To my surprise, he was extremely understanding, friendly and encouraging-right off the bat. I scheduled a consult for the next day, and then decided to start training with him that week. I can honestly say it's one of the best decisions I've ever made for myself in my entire life. I only go twice a week, and in just 2 months, the results I've already seen are way beyond what I expected. My strength has dramatically increased, my body fat percentage has decreased and I'm losing weight! I always look forward to going. He is great about tayloring the program to fit my needs and has even tought me a ton about nutrition and how to integrate the exercises into my life even when I'm at home. The studio is very clean, is always a welcoming and positive atmosphere, he plays amazing music, and he never lets me quit. I really appreciate the privacy, and that I never have to worry about anyone there judging me. Had I just joined any gym, I know for certain I NEVER would have pushed myself as hard as he pushes me, and I never would have seen the results I've seen so far, in such a short amount of time. I can not wait to see the results that I know are still in store as I continue this journey. I HIGHLY recommend John at Fabi Fitness. He has helped me to see that regardless of your age, your weight, no matter what fitness level you're at- it's NEVER too late to start, and Fabi Elite Fitness is the best place to do it!

It's worth it, totally. Original review: I've tried several gyms and absolutely love this one. It is attractive without being glitzy. It is kept very clean, and they take a lot of pride in keeping the equipment in good shape. Even as a flabby senior, I feel so comfortable there; there is no competition with other members. People are very friendly, and I've had nice conversations with other members. The trainers are wonderful and very knowledgeable. After two months, I feel like a million bucks. No matter what level of fitness you have, there is something there for you, from basic low-level Curves equipment (in its own room) to the high-caliber super-fit stuff. It's a very positive place.

The staff is friendly but not knowledgeable on what a guest pass includes. I spoke to three different employees who told me three different things so that's been really confusing. They put together a sick playlist though, lol. The equipment is new to me and honestly I removed a star solely because of the hip adduction and abduction machines. The seats move while you're doing your reps and it's probably one of the worst things I've ever experienced. I watched the instructional video and all to make sure my form was correct and I still ended up messing up my back somehow. I do really like the post-workout shake bar, though. I tried the coffee and chocolate shake and it was pretty good. The gym and locker room are really clean. I love the section they have upstairs if you'd like a bit more privacy during your workout. All in all, while this gym is really nice and I think the amenities are beautiful, I don't feel it's worth signing up and being locked in for an entire year.

Edge uses this company for billing. They are awful to deal with, and make it very difficult to cancel a membership. And they will do anything to milk extra fees out of you when you try. READ THE FINE PRINT. you are pretty much locked in. For The Edge Fitness Clubs, ABC Fitness is explicitly identified in Edge's current membership terms as its third-party payment processor. Edge's agreement says cancellations, recurring dues, electronic documents, and certain account communications can involve ABC Fitness Solutions, LLC. ABC has also publicly described The Edge as a customer using its ABC Ignite/Perkville technology. They are the same also for Big Sky Fitness, and it's even more explicit: Big Sky's own member handbook says "all membership changes are handled by Big Sky's billing company, ABC Fitness." So ABC handles membership-account administration/billing for Big Sky as well. So, in practical terms: * The Edge Fitness Clubs ABC Fitness handles payment processing/member-management technology. * Big Sky Fitness ABC Fitness is its billing company and handles membership changes. * ABC Fitness does not appear to own either chain.
