My best friend died at an early age of a heart attack (49) and another of kidney failure complications (51). He spoke to me about my health concerns and understood that I wanted to be here for my grandchildren's graduations ( assuming I become a grandparent). I understand that we are all going to pass someday but my conversation with Noel was deep and refreshing at the same time. The bathroom floor was flooded because one of the showers clogged, and the lockers are 1/2 size I've seen amywhere. I've only ever seen older people here ages 60 and up and they will sometimes just bump into you and not pay attention. The pools are terrible, they're very hard to get openings for spots to swim and you only get 30 minutes. Not ideal for any serious swimmer, especially since the pool is only 10 yards. The membership costs $60/MO for a gym that is really like $15/mo in quality. This is one of the worse gyms ever, and does. It belong in a town like Glastonbury with such high standards. I hope they close this place.

Decent gym near my house…read more I'd never joined a gym before I retired. Work & family were a roadblock. With Silver Sneakers (Medicare), the opportunity to go to a gym presented itself. I chose Planet Fitness due to proximity to my home. Parking is good, the facility is kept clean & all the workers are so nice. I'm sure there are other gyms with nicer/more upscale facilities, but Planet Fitness works for me. When I first joined, there was a trainer who worked with me about an exercise plan and how to use the machines. He also led weekly 1/2 hour classes that were really good. The trainer/classes were all available inclusive of the regular or Silver Sneakers membership. Unfortunately, the trainer quit & Planet Fitness has been unable to hire anyone. I very much wish they could bring a new trainer in - that service would have bumped my review to 5 stars.
