Up to you if you want to use a company who speaks falsely of other companies. They claim they are the best company in the valley. According to the reviews though, they are not. And BTW, this company never even did a site visit while 2 others did. "We all are scratching our heads as to how XXXXXXX could come up with the inflated production numbers they are showing you on paper. It is known in the industry that their estimates are typically higher than ours or PV2 but this is an exceptionally high estimate given the tree coverage on the property. I understand the allure to proceed with a company showing you the highest production on paper but ultimately if you have 2 other companies telling you you'd need more panels to get close to where Northeast is promising it should be a good sign that it is not our data but theirs that is off. We are sad to see a local company over promising this much to win deals. It is public data (and I am passionate on saving folks from being taken advantage of), so I will share - XXXXXXXX's business is down ~40% this year, perhaps they are desperate to win projects and are resorting to unethical tactics. Valley Solar has grown by 8% this year, one of the only solar companies in the state to grow during the past year which saw a down turnover in solar installations statewide. We did run into some unexpected delays due to a few outside factors but Earthlight Solar kept me informed the whole time. We went from having a 350-550 dollar electric bill to the panels covering 99-100% of our usage. It's pretty amazing. The company as a whole was great to work with. As I stated we did hit a few issues but a fair amount comes from being in a small town that just moves slower than we wanted. The draftsmanship of the panels / wiring and everything was top notch. I talked to absolutely every one about a solar panel installation. I easily spent months on…read moreresearching the topic, vendors, and installation techniques. Ultimately I settled on on a mechanically mounted system for my flat roof, which was wonderful. Some vendors would not touch a flat roof. Some only installed ballasted systems. Some vendors assumed that they could use a lift to get onto my roof when they actually needed a crane. Some just wanted to overcharge me with the hot new technology, sweeping the nation. After reviewing multiple bids, I settled on Sunbug to install my system. Chris Miller was a no nonsense saleman throughout my whole research phase. He answered all of my questions, and disabused me of any misinformation I may have had. He was polite, but firm, which is exactly what a layman consumer needs when making a large, delayed gratification purchase like a solar system. Once I signed on the dotted line, their team actually moved fairly quickly through the rest of the process. We were able to install my system before the end of the tax year, so some of that delayed gratification is delayed just a little less. I would give a five star review, but there were a few hiccups. Once I signed the dotted line, the team was less responsive than I needed with my subsequent questions. They installed the inverter in my basement without my input, which is a problem when I plan to finish my basement. We quickly fixed that by simply moving it, but we could have avoided that problem altogether by filling me in on the plan first. I chalk that up to some disorganization, and rushing to complete systems before the end of the tax year. Another silly issue is that their electrician upgraded me to a 200A panel, which is wonderful. For some reason though he reinstalled the same 100A main breaker I originally had, which makes no sense. Now I have to pay some one else to upgrade my main breaker. A month later I am actually still waiting for an inspector to check off on their work so that I can turn the system on, but that may be more an issue with the inspector than with Sunbug. In any event, I am mostly pleased with my purchase, and look forward to bathing my roof in sun shine in the coming years.
