The gentlemen we had were friendly and took care of all of our luggage. The company has great communication. We were scheduled to be picked up at 4:45am but at around 9pm the night before I started getting nervous that we should leave a few minutes earlier, so I sent them an email asking if we could leave at 4:30am instead, really not expecting anyone to respond in time. They actually emailed me back within 10 minutes and confirmed the earlier pick-up time. Then, our return flight landed at PDX (an unheard of!) 40 minutes early. As soon as we touched down I texted the number to see if there would be any way someone could come pick us up for 40 minutes earlier than planned, again not necessarily expecting a response - especially since it was close to midnight. However, they texted me back instantly that my driver would be in touch with me soon, and sure enough our driver texted me within a few minutes. By the time we grabbed our suitcases off of the conveyor and walked a few minutes to the curb, our driver was already there and waiting despite us being 40 minutes early - and, again, it was close to midnight on a Wednesday. We are customers for life!

The choice was an Uber, which would not have worked for our situation, or a luxury car service. Hewar was wonderful from when I first called him to arrange our trip. He was attentive and patient, even when I called him multiple times with questions. The manager, Rasheem, met us at baggage claim. Our driver, Zhieco, was professional and friendly. He helped us get our (very heavy) luggage into the hotel. On the other hand, the company I called first did not give me a chance to explain why we needed help at baggage claim. As soon as he heard that, he immediately said he couldn't help me. He threatened to post my phone number online when I wrote him a one-star review. I was shocked. I would've taken it down, regardless, because I don't post bad reviews. So, I was especially glad to talk with Hewar on my second phone call. I highly recommend Elite. If I ever need a service like this again, I will for sure call Hewar.

She had to go all the way to Eugene which is a two hour ride. I found Portland Luxury on Yelp and the owner Billy put me and my wife at ease. He tracked my daughters flight information, picked her up directly at the airport and texted her before she landed with all of the directions on where to meet. He even texted me when he picked her up and at the end of the ride to confirm she arrived safely. I am from the New York area and did not have a connection in Portland but I am so great full for Billy and Portland Luxury. That I live in. Where everyone is out walking their dogs. With no crosswalks. Jacqueline reached out to me by 10am Monday, confirmed the time of our ride, and answered all my questions. The driver, Gary, arrived on time, helped my mother get into the wheelchair, and made sure she was very securely placed in the van. The van itself was modern, clean, and well-equipped. This is the first time I've been to Portland international airport, and this has to be one of the,…read moreif not the nicest US airports I have ever been through. It has gone through a massive renovation that changed it from just your average "airport", to a bright airy space that is actually a pleasure to go through. It's about 20 to 30 minutes from downtown, there is bus and light rail service to the airport, and it sits right on the Columbia river, which is the state line, giving it easy access from Washington state as well. It is definitely a big airport. If you are renting a car, you do not have to take any type of airport shuttle. There is an underground, climate, controlled tunnel, connecting the rental cars, and the main terminal. It is about a 10 minute walk, but they do have moving sidewalks, and you can also rent luggage carts at a reasonable price. There are also tunnels and pedestrian bridges connecting the short term and long-term parking lots to the main terminal. All the check-in's are in one centralized area. They have people to help you find which aisle your check-in is on. You just walk up to that aisle number, and check-in. Once you've checked in, you go through security, and it's on to your gate. You can walk between all of the Concourses without having to go through security again. Again, it is a big area, but in the concourses, they also have the moving sidewalks and luggage carts available. There is lots of shopping and food/drink outlets, with an emphasis on Portland/Oregon businesses. They even have entertainment inside the terminal. I loved this airport, and I hope I get the chance to fly through here again.

Whether it or not it was psychological, I felt having all that greenery was mood lifting yet calming. Airports are known to be all hustle and bustle, but at PDX I felt like I was at a park where you could sit down at one a cafes and people watch. The amenities were clean and all the people from check in to gate were friendly and helpful. Lots of dining options and things to do while waiting.
