I really like this place- I've dined here twice have and each time it was a slightly different experience but both times excellent. My first time here was a weeknight, it was very quiet and intimate. People having quiet conversation and enjoying one another's company. That night I had the Margherita Flatbread and my date had the Pasta Carbonara. Both were excellent. Another thing I noticed on my first trip was the great wine list. It's not extensive by any means. It is however well thought out. They have some very nice selections in my opinion. On my second trip I had the ribeye(which is not a cut of meat I'd normally order), and my date had the Roasted Chicken and wild mushroom pappardelle. Again, both dishes were excellent. My Ribeye was beautifully presented, and not a cheap, overly fatty cut. It was cooked perfectly to my specification and served "New York steakhouse style" (sliced). It came with smashed potatoes and asparagus. If you have never had this type of smashed potatoes you are missing out. I think I've had them only in Italian restaurants. The ambiance on the weekend night was much more bustling. The place was busier, lots of groups- a bit louder. If you are in the area give this great local place a try. read more

We came here for dinner last night to celebrate my birthday, I made reservations which was good because it was very busy. Our table was right next to the door which is never good because I felt like we were eating in the middle of I-20. That aside we got drinks and ordered our meal. We both started with salads my wife got the beet salad and I had the Caesar. Both were very good but in the middle of our salads our entrees showed up. This has happened to me before and I always feel like I have to woof up my salad before my entree gets cold. Presentation was ok honestly I don't care if you throw it up against a wall and let it flop in the plate as long as it tastes good. I only mention that to set the expectation this place is not fine dining but more on par with Bonefish or Carrabbas. I had the lasagna and my wife got the Pappardelle. My lasagna was meh because to me good lasagna has to have a bold sauce to complement the cheese and noodles. The sauce was weak and all I could taste was cheese and noodles. My wife said her dish was bland too, and on her dish the noodles were overcooked making them soggy. We finished with the zeppole which was the star of the show, they were very good. The atmosphere and layout were fine except I would change the hostess station with the table by the door, the constant in and out (they have tables just outside the door) was very distracting. Would I go back probably not, I mean it was busy so obviously some people like the food. So overall I gave it a 3 stars because they tried, but it just wasn't our cup of tea. read more

Food was very good with homemade pasta and my wine pairing was delicious. Our waitress, Gabriela, was not only helpful with recommendations but very good at her job and super sweet! However, ambiance was severely lacking. Artwork on the walls was crooked, lighting was super bad, paper on the tables made it difficult to know where the end of the table was... overall atmosphere was cheap and poorly done. Bar might have a different story.... Hire an interior designer and elevate the restaurant to the food you serve. I will go back because of the food and the helpful service. This place is ok. I visited this establishment on a Saturday night with a reservation, and we were seated and greeted immediately. The decor and atmosphere are great here. They also have a bar area. I ordered the Augustan to drink, along with their Lasagna. The Augustan was ok, but I wouldn't say it was amazing. The Lasagna was ok as well, but could have used a bit more flavor or salt and pepper. It wasn't bad, but wasn't great either as I would expect it to be from an italian place. The portion size of the Lasagna that was received was great. Their dessert options didn't appeal to me personally. All in all this was a just 'OK' experience, so maybe I will choose a different dish if I return here. read more

First time here, nice atmosphere. I ordered the Pan roasted branzino, it was absolutely delicious. Cooked to perfection! The price of the entree was a bit high, $26 but it did not disappoint. This place is a sham. Not quality authentic Italian food at all. The meatballs (3 of them) were extremely dry and $13 dollars. The chicken paperdelle was bland and they use what seems to be the Costco preshredded chicken- not "seasoned and roasted chicken". And the entire top layer of the lasagna was burnt and hard. Waste of $55, which is how much it cost for two people to eat without getting drinks. Also, we sat for about 15 minutes after we were done eating, even though we were the only ones in the restaurant (no wonder why) before we ever saw our waitress again even though we could hear everyone chatting away in the kitchen. read more

So good... So I was dining solo so I sat at the bar. Amanda was the bartender and she was awesome! I was looking for a wine that I couldn't remember the name of (yes I know) and she was super patient and helpful. I finally decided on the red wine sangria and I was not disappointed. I didn't have an appetizer but the house bread was really tasty. My entrée was the pan seared trout and it was RIDICULOUS!!! Hands down the best trout I've ever tasted. While talking with Amanda I found out that the restaurant actually has its own farm and even the bread and desserts are made in house. The quality shows in every sip, bite and smile. This place is phenomenal! They make their own pasta and it tastes amazing. I really enjoyed the California flatbread appetizer. The Shrimp Scampi was flooded with flavor and zest. Everything was fresh and well seasoned. A repeat visit is in my very near future. Even my 11yr old daughter raved about the food! The decor is modern and truly above my expectations for Augusta! My boyfriend and I ate here on a Saturday night! The atmosphere is relaxing and intimate. The restaurant is separated in three seating sections. We were seated immediately in the bar area. Our waitress was friendly. I ordered the white sangria and the pasta carbonara. The butter they served along side the bread looked like chocolate and vanilla ice cream! The sangria was delish! The carbonara was cooked to perfection, but the sauce was kind of bland (this is coming from a person who is sensitive to salt). Birthday dinner for my wife. We found this restaurant on open table and thought to give it a try. What a great choice! Our server Thomas was wonderful! The food was excellent and fresh. Food was outstanding!! Our family was blown away with the shrimp scamp tagliolini, would definitely recommend for those visiting for the first time. HOWEVER the service was considerably slow, especially for a not-so-busy weeknight. It may be because they're not in a very high traffic area or because they don't have their best staff there in a random Thursday, but it took the group quite a while to get our drinks. This place has been on my radar ever since a friend told me they had mussels here! I'm glad my book club gave me a reason to try it. Our waitress did a great job with a party of nine. One of the ladies in the book club tried the triple dip appetizer and I really liked the little toast points that were served with the dips. I liked the artichoke relish the best out of the three, but the bolognese was good. I wouldn't order that appetizer again, however. Now onto the mussels! The sauce they were in was delicious and very flavorful. It was plenty of food for me for a meal and will definitely be back to order those again. I have been 5 times and each time it is amazing. Tonight we had the pork chop which was big enough to share. The mussels were great and the Caesar salad was wonderful as well. I like the wine list. This is a great option and worth the drive out from Augusta or across town from anywhere in County. This is about two miles from the Fury's Ferry and Washington Road intersection in the Bi-Lo shopping center. Please give them a try. Definitely a place you should visit when in the Augusta area. We did not have reservations but were seated right away the staff was friendly and well trained, our glass stayed full and when we asked for extra bread and crushed black pepper it arrived quickly to our table. We ordered the antipasto with the fried lemons in it (sorry don't remember what it was called) the ingredients were very fresh and flavorful. The mussels are always on point. The Caesar and Cucina salad are both really good also. I would say all three of those are tens! Our main courses were good but not up to the rest of the meal. We asked about specials - no specials, only the same limited menu. Took our drink order, then asked for our meal order. No drinks yet, came back again for our meal order. We tried to slow it down, to no avail. More disturbing: we watched two couples - two couples - come in, Be seated, and then LEFT. No comment to the guests from the hostess, or anyone, as they left. My husband and I tried Cucina's Saturday night and were pleasantly surprised. The wait staff was very nice and the food was great. The meatballs and the chicken pasta dish was the best Italian we have had in quite a while. I highly recommend the flourless chocolate cake for desert. Decided to try this place for a friend's birthday. Walked in, no wait, which was great. The ambiance was cute, lighting was nice and dim, made the place feel real homey. Our server was a great guy with a great attitude. Menu had a nice selection of plates. Our food was delicious and the menu had a couple interesting new choices. We had the appetizer that included fried lemons and we were both very surprised with how good they were. Meh... It's okay. Is it horrible? No. Will I come back? Probably not. Coming in, we weren't sure if we came in right door. The hostess "stand" is a wine barrel. Okay, different. Cool? There were many open tables so we were given choice of where to sit. The tables have brown paper covers over the nice white table clothes so you constantly hear it when sitting at the table. I ordered a Bloody Mary and my husband got his usual Coke. We also got two appetizers. My Bloody Mary was okay. It was really watered down. Too much ice, but not horrible. Our appetizers were a Caprese Salad and a Margaritha Flatbread. Both were.. Okay. Not sure why the flat bread wasn't just called thin crust pizza, cause that's what it was. There was no real flavor. The Caprese was just odd. Lots of cherry tomatoes, halved and some crumbly cheese. Again, no real flavor. On to dinner... I wanted to go here because they had Risotto. My favorite! I ordered the shrimp risotto and my husband got shrimp scampi. So disappointed. First, the shrimp still had tails so we had to dig through the risotto and pasta to pull out the shrimp then attempt to take off the tail. Yes, handling hot shrimp covered in pasta or risotto was annoying. When I asked the waitress she said they leave the tails on to for looks and to make the shrimp look large. Umm... Okay? I know plating is important, but I am most concerned with eating. The portion size was a bit small considering the price, and there was only five shrimp in each dish. My risotto lacked any real flavor. After two bites, I was looking for a salt shaker. None of the tables had them. To me having no salt or pepper on a table means the chief is so arrogant about their cooking that they refuse basic seasoning to their customers. My food needed salt badly, but instead of insulting the chief, I ate it without additional salt. My husband said his pasta was good and seasoned okay. I had ordered a glass of house Chardonnay with my meal. The waitress left as if she was getting it, but instead I watched as she assisted another waitress with clearing tables and recovering them with the brown paper. There was no mad rush of customers so why I had to wait ten minutes for a glass of wine while she did that, I have no idea. By the end of our meal, we decided that we weren't going to risk dessert. We left and got dessert elsewhere. Our total meal cost was $75 for it all. Not too bad considering what we ordered, but still too much for the bland food and drink we received. Overall it was... I was not disappointed, but not overly impressed by this place. I agree with the previous review that they are trying to pull off the new trendy restaurant but don't quite execute it. My reasoning is mainly with the food; it's nothing special. Only one appetizer (the flatbread) stood out amongst our party. We were not impressed with the caprese salad (mostly just halved cherry tomatoes), the risotto had way too much garlic, the eggplant parmesan was bland. The service, however, was outstanding, and the beer was not overpriced. I will try this place again. read more
